Abstract: A hands-free measuring instrument is disclosed. The disclosed instrument includes an upright member extending perpendicularly from a base member. At least one magnet is affixed to the instrument to facilitate the mounting thereof on a ferrous workpiece. The disclosed instrument includes at least one bubble level disposed thereupon. Graduations may be provided on the instrument to facilitate measurement of linear distances. Embodiments are provided wherein a spring-loaded spike is disposed within the instrument that is adapted to secure the measuring instrument to a workpiece which may be non-ferrous. The spike assembly may be configured to work with commonly used building materials, e.g., wood, drywall, masonry, and sheet metal surfaces.

Abstract: This Chalk Line End Fastener, is a hook similar in size to the conventional hooks but is cylindrical and narrower, coming to a sharp point. This pointed hook can still be used in the prior art manner, but more effectively can be pushed into most surfaces without the use of additional tools, fasteners, or a helper to hold the end of the line securely in place. The design of the front of the body of this invention allows for maximization of surface area, which eases any pressure on the user's fingers as they push the point into a material to secure the chalk line. Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for preserving wood, said process comprising the following steps: (1) a modification step in which wood is heated to the modification temperature and is maintained at that temperature for a specific time; (2) a cooling step in which the wood is cooled; characterized in that the wood is heated and cooled by means of heating elements which are positioned in-between the wood. Prior to the modification step, a drying step can be carried out. According to further embodiments, the process is characterized in that one or more of the steps takes place under vacuum in a sealed chamber. Preferably, a pressure is applied to the wood during the steps, with the option of varying said pressure during the process. The invention also relates to an apparatus for implementing the process.

Abstract: A water supply device for a drying machine and a method for controlling the same are disclosed. The water supply device includes a common hose (310) having one end connected to at least one water supply source (300), a drying machine water supply hose (300) having one end connected to the common hose (310) and the other end connected to a steam generator (1) of the drying machine, and a washing machine water supply hose (330) having one end connected to the common hose (310) and the other end connected to a washing machine (2). With the provision of the water supply device, the drying machine has the effects of preventing wrinkles, creases, or the like from being generated in an object to be dried, such as clothes, and the like, or eleminating wrinkles, creases, or the like in clothes, and the like.

Abstract: A method for drying a wet material which comprises a liquid Fd to be distilled, uses a gas-tight container system that is resistant to excess and/or negative pressure. The container system comprises a drying container containing the wet material whose temperature can be adjusted, a condenser for condensing the liquid Fd, which has turned to vapor and whose temperature can be adjusted, to give the condensation product, and a vapor chamber connecting the drying container and the condenser. The pressure in the vapor chamber is monitored and controlled in such a manner that drying and distillation are always carried out in a range close to the saturation vapor pressure of the liquid Fd to be distilled. The pressure and the temperature in the vapor chamber are continuously determined. If the pressure goes above the upper limit of the range, the pressure is reduced in such a manner that especially foreign gas is removed.

Each actuator has a footprint size smaller than that of the corresponding chamber, and is sized and arranged to provide individual support to the bones of the human foot. The support structure when compressed causes the actuator to push against the layer and move the layer at least partially into the corresponding chamber. In one embodiment, the horizontal layer of stretchable material is at least partially enclosed by a wall the prevents horizontal displacement of the layer during compression.

The rear portion of the outsole comprises a heel region having a cut-out in a center part of the heel region such that the center part of the heel region never contacts a surface when worn. This aspect is central to the function of the present invention since the positioning of the cut-out eliminates impact on a wearer's heels. Rather, pressure from impact is distributed from the center of the heel to the outer edges of the heel region which symmetrically flank the cut-out. Finally, the present invention relates to a shoe comprising an upper attached with an outsole or formed as one piece with an outsole as previously described.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a hydrocarbon fuel composition comprising (i) at least 99% by weight of a base gas; and (ii) additives comprising (a) 2 to 50 ppm organometallic compound; and (b) 100 to 5000 ppm aniline or substituted aniline and 100 to 5000 ppm toluidine. The present invention discloses addition of an additive or additive mixture to base fuel preferably, liquefied petroleum gas. The addition of additive mixture not only improves the properties of the base fuel for use as torch gas for cutting and welding application, but also reduces the consumption of both fuel and oxygen for cutting applications.
