Abstract: This Chalk Line End Fastener, is a hook similar in size to the conventional hooks but is cylindrical and narrower, coming to a sharp point. This pointed hook can still be used in the prior art manner, but more effectively can be pushed into most surfaces without the use of additional tools, fasteners, or a helper to hold the end of the line securely in place. The design of the front of the body of this invention allows for maximization of surface area, which eases any pressure on the user's fingers as they push the point into a material to secure the chalk line. The rear of the body is designed to allow the user to lift straight up on the chalk line and easily disengage the point. There is also a lip at the back of the body which allows the user to pry the point straight out.

Abstract: A lineless rigid-rod-anchor-weight assembly provides for anchoring, throwing, and retrieving a decoy or a set of decoys without any tangling of the members of the set. The assembly is attachable to floating object and includes a rigid-rod permanently molded into an environmentally safe, hermetically encapsulated, lead weight. The impermeable encapsulate may be a polyvinylchloride. The rod may be fiberglass or a naturally-occurring material exhibiting rigidity with limited flexure. The floating object may be a decoy, such as a puddle duck decoy with a keel having a receiver aperture for receiving the anchor-weight attachment means. One end of the attachment may be a clip connector means for fastening the attachment means to the floatable object and may also be attached to the rod. Alternatively, if the decoy has a receiver aperture above the keel, the anchor-weight attachment means comprises an adapter to provide for such attachment.

Abstract: A trawl door (20, 60) or a paravane (120, 140) having at least one main deflector (22, 22U, 22L) includes a permeable structure disposed adjacent to and separated from an outer surface (34) of the main deflector (22, 22U, 22L). The permeable structure extends from near a trailing edge (26, 26U, 26L) of the main deflector (22, 22U, 22L) over and separated from the outer surface (34) toward the main deflector's leading edge (24, 24U, 24L). In one embodiment of the permeable structure, a plurality of apertures (54, 56) pierce a perforated slat (52, 52U, 52L) thereby establishing a porous surface adjacent to the outer surface (34) of the main deflector (22, 22U, 22L). Adding the permeable structure perforated slat (52, 52U, 52L) to a trawl door (20, 60) increases the trawl door's stability when the trawl door is towed through water at a high angle of attack, and also reduces the trawl door's drag when operating at a high angle of attack.
