Abstract: Described in the examples herein are devices for loading and unloading of an adjusting plate of a freeze-drying apparatus with a number of vials, with a transfer table provided upstream of the freeze-drying apparatus for temporary accommodation of the vials, with a shifting device for shifting the vials from the transfer table onto the adjusting plate or from the adjusting plate onto the transfer table, and with a right and/or left side limit. According to one example, the creation of a device, so that the vials can be brought into and out of the freeze-drying apparatus by maintaining their sequence and order, is achieved by the side limit being provided with elements which are movable with low friction by striking vials.

Abstract: The invention relates to a drum (5) or drum segment (12, 12?, 12?) for a drying apparatus of pourable material, with built-in components (8) being arranged within the drum (5) which is rotatable about its central axis, which built-in components thoroughly mix and convey the pourable material (9) from the drum entrance (4) to the drum exit (6) while guiding through a tempered gaseous transport fluid. The invention consists in that several support rings (7) are arranged between the built-in components (8) and the drum (5), which support rings are arranged to be statically supporting, but compensate tensile and compressive stresses in an elastic manner, and are connected in a positive and/or non-positive way with the built-in components (8) and/or their support frame (14) and the drum (5). A method is further presented with which it is possible to produce drums (5) or drum segments (12) in a simpler and more cost-effective manner than permitted by the prior state of the art.

Abstract: A UV curing system and method for providing an adjustable beam profile are disclosed for UV curing for ultra high speed industrial applications, such inkjet printing, with improved print quality and efficiency. Also provided is a lamp head assembly for a UV source for such a system, which provides an adjustable beam profile for optimizing UV curing. The lamp head assembly comprises one or more light sources and reflectors or other optical elements, which may be relatively movable and adjustable, to adjust the beam profile to processing conditions and requirements for consistent curing efficiency and print quality at different print speeds. Specific features of such a lamp head assembly may permit adjustment of the spectral, spatial and temporal distribution of light for improved or optimized curing efficiency in ultra-fast UV curing applications.

Abstract: A lyophilization device configured for use in a lyophilization process has a body defining a chamber for receiving a liquid to be lyophilized, and a stopper creating a liquid-tight seal between the chamber and ambient atmosphere to form a sealed, empty sterile chamber. The stopper is adapted so that the chamber may be sterile filled with the substance through the stopper. A fluid passageway is formed through the stopper, through which the chamber is evacuated. The substance is lyophilized, the fluid passageway is closed, and the lyophilized substance is hermetically sealed within the chamber.

Abstract: A drier apparatus for removing water or other liquids from various materials includes a mixer, drying chamber, separator and regenerator and a method for use of the apparatus. The material to be dried is mixed with a heated media to form a mixture which then passes through the chamber. While passing through the chamber, a comparatively cool fluid is passed counter current through the mixture so that the mixture becomes cooler and drier and the fluid becomes hotter and more saturated with moisture. The mixture is then separated into drier material and media. The media is transferred to the regenerator and heated therein by the hot fluid from the chamber and supplemental heat is supplied to bring the media to a preselected temperature for mixing with the incoming material to be dried. In a closed loop embodiment of the apparatus, the fluid is also recycled from the regenerator to the chamber and a chiller is utilized to reduce the temperature of the fluid to a preselected temperature and dew point temperature.

Abstract: A dryer includes a drying chamber for the items to be dried, an inlet air duct, a process air duct, an exhaust air duct, a recirculating air duct, a fan, and a heat pump with an evaporator, a condenser and a programmable controller. The dryer defines a process air path for obtaining and maintaining a predetermined minimum difference ?Tset between an evaporator entry temperature T2 and a dryer entry temperature T1 as well as a predetermined lower threshold T2set for the evaporator entry temperature.

Abstract: Resin molding work is efficiently carried out in accordance with a consumption amount of resin pellets of a resin molding machine by sequentially supplying small amounts of dried resin pellets in short period of time. When changeover of a molded product is carried out, attached remaining resin pellets can be removed by simple work in a short period of time, thereby carrying out efficient changeover work. An interval of taking out dried resin pellets that are heated and dried in a decompressed state is shortened by sequentially moving a plurality of pellet containers that contain small amounts of resin pellets.

Abstract: A protective foot cover for use in dance, exercise, or athletic applications using strategically placed thicker protective pieces in ball and toe areas of the foot in connection with an elastic material in the sole structure to allow the foot to move freely and provide less of a barrier between the foot and floor such that a dancer can better sense the floor upon which they dance. The foot cover incorporates strategically placed protective patches that provide support, protection, and comfort to the ball and toe portions of the foot. The patches are spaced from one another so that the footwear is able to move more naturally with the expansion of the foot as pressure is applied to the foot. The foot cover may be used alone, whereby the toe and heel portions of the foot are exposed, or in combination with a dance shoe providing a stretchable sole running from the arch portion to the toe portion of the foot.

Abstract: The present invention provides an outer sole light in weight and excellent in abrasion resistance. The outer sole of the present invention is formed out of a polymer composition with a specific gravity of 0.95 or less, which contains an olefin resin and a styrene elastomer, wherein a storage elastic modulus [E?] and a loss coefficient [tan ?] in a dynamic viscoelasticity measurement (20±3° C., 10 Hz) are 100 MPa to 500 MPa and 0.2 or less respectively, and a maximum tensile stress is 30 MPa or more. The olefin resin contains an ethylene polymer and a propylene polymer, for example. The styrene elastomer contains an ?-methyl styrene.butadiene copolymer, for example. A flaw is hardly occurred on the outer sole in use, so that the outer sole is excellent in abrasion resistance.

Abstract: Active-response golf shoes are disclosed. The golf shoes include a plurality of sensors, a controller, and at least one active-response element. The sensor and controller operate to rapidly determine if a golfer is walking or swinging a golf club. Once this determination is made the controller and active-response element rapidly change the shoe's characteristics. If the controller determines that the golfer is walking, the shoe provides a soft and flexible walking platform. If the controller determines that the golfer is swinging, the shoe morphs or changes automatically to provide a stable hitting platform. The controller senses various predetermined conditions such as pressure of the user's foot to determine whether the golfer is walking or swinging.

Abstract: An article of footwear has an upper that includes a knitted component and a sole structure secured to the upper. The knitted component may define a tube formed of unitary knit construction, and a strand may extend through a length of the tube. As another example, the knitted component may have a pair of at least partially coextensive knitted layers formed of unitary knit construction, and a plurality of floating yarns may extend between the knitted layers. In some configurations, the knit type or yarn type may vary in different regions of the knitted component to impart different properties. Additionally, the knitted component may incorporate a thermoplastic yarn that is fused in different regions of the knitted component to impart different properties. A flat knitting process or a variety of other knitting processes may be utilized to form the knitted component.

Each label is constructed of dual impression paper wherein upon a user writing on the label, a first impression will result on a first surface of the label and a second impression will be transferred to a surface of the calendar page directly beneath the label. The label is also repositionable, i.e., the label can be removed and attached to a different surface or the original surface.

The footboard is configured to include: a footboard base having, coupling holes displaying a letter, graphic, or number; luminous bodies coupled to the coupling holes by insertion to be separated therefrom; and a luminous body support plate which supports the luminous bodies, is integral with the luminous bodies, and is separated therefrom and coupled thereto from below the footboard base. Thus, the footboard base can be easily washed.

In addition, the portions of the barrel link extending beyond the width of the channel of the barrel lug are designed to provide multiple points of contact with the front face of the barrel lug in both vertical and horizontal positions so as to reliably and consistently place the barrel into battery. The additional width of the barrel link and additional contact between the link and barrel lug aids in stabilizing lateral and rotational forces prolonging the life of the weapon.

The lure may resemble a prey fish, worm or other natural food, and includes a flaccid elastomeric body having a front end, a tail end. and a tail section. The fishing lure includes a spine extending lengthwise through some, but not all, of the elastomeric body. The spine allows a fisherman to shape the lure by hand to a motion defining configuration that will cause motion that simulates that of a wounded or distressed prey fish or other natural food. The elastomeric body is not rigid enough to sustain a motion defining shape without the spine. The spine extends forward of the front end of the lure and exits the elastomeric body of the lure near the tail section, but not at the rear end of the lure. The spine does not support the tail section. The tail section is free to flutter in the water as the fishing lure is drawn through the water.

Abstract: An animal trap includes a base member, a spring-loaded pivotally mounted striker bail, a striker hold-down member, and a removable trigger member. The removable trigger member is pivotally mounted on the base member and includes a generally flat portion with upwardly directed flanges along defining peripheral edges. The upwardly directed flanges on the trigger member form a trough which may be filled with a non-drying, adhesive thereby forming an adhesive layer. The trigger member includes a catch portion which engages an end of the striker hold-down member. When a rodent touches the trigger member in an attempt to reach the bait, the rodent becomes ensnared by the adhesive layer. The motion of the rodent in an attempt to free itself moves the trigger member and causes the catch member to release the striker hold-down member thereby releasing the spring loaded striker bail which pivots to strike and kill the rodent.

Abstract: An easily disassembled navel orangeworm egg trap apparatus which facilitates easy cleaning, inspection, maintenance, reloading, and repair. One or more embodiments of the invention enable orchard workers in the field to easily disassemble a navel orangeworm egg trap for cleaning, inspection, and repair. In one or more embodiments of the invention, at least one chamber section that is detachably coupled along the length of the chamber section. The chamber disassembles along the length of the chamber sections, thus exposing the inner surfaces of the ovipositional bait attractant chamber. By offering an easily disassembled chamber that exposes the inner surface, navel orangeworm egg traps are easily cleaned and repaired in the field.

Abstract: The present invention provides for an attack and kill pest control device. A chamber of the attack and kill pest control device comprises a chamber wall with a plurality of vent openings. The chamber is configured to receive a lure comprising a volatile semiochemical attractant. The plurality of vent openings is configured allow airflow through the chamber wall, releasing the volatile semiochemical attractant. A pesticide layer is affixed to a surface of a treated portion of the chamber wall.

Abstract: The present invention is generally directed to novel biodiesel fuel compositions having enhanced low-temperature properties. The present invention is additionally directed to methods (i.e., processes) for making such enhanced biodiesel fuels by improving the low-temperature properties of ester-based biodiesel fuels via in situ enhancement and/or additive enhancement.
