Abstract: A belt meandering correction apparatus is provided and includes: belt extending rolls that extend an endless-shaped belt member, including a belt meandering correction roll, at least one end part of which is supported in a manner movable in a direction defined by joining a revolving shaft center of the correction roll to a point of contact with the belt member so that meandering of the belt member is corrected; a revolving body which is arranged at least at the one end part of the correction roll in a manner movable along an axial direction of the correction roll and which has a surface abutting against an end part of the belt member and an inclined surface whose outer diameter varies along the axial direction; and a fixed member arranged at a fixed position such as to abut against an outer peripheral surface of the revolving body.

Abstract: A monitoring system is provided for a moving conveyor belt having a plurality of embedded reinforcing cords and identification tags. A tag reader detects and identifies the identification tags passing by the tag reader while a belt monitor scans the cords to detect a plurality of magnetic reference points and a damage event of at least one cord. A control unit in communication with the belt monitor and the tag reader analyzes the belt monitor to identify the plurality of magnetic reference points and the damage event. The control unit also acquires a belt location on the moving conveyor belt from a belt map based on the detected and identified identification tag and a magnetic reference point from the plurality of magnetic reference points. When a damage event is identified, a location of the damage event is determined by the control unit based on the acquired belt location.

Abstract: A substrate transfer apparatus and a method of driving the same includes a first guide block and a second guide block, and a single ball screw shaft connected to the first and second guide blocks moves the guide blocks in an axial direction thereof. A first drive unit rotates the ball screw shaft to concurrently move the pair of guide blocks, and a second drive unit connected to the second guide block separately moves the second guide block with respect to the first guide block.

The gripping area comprises two areas (22 and 23) located on the sidewall on each side of the plane of symmetry of the compact and having a height greater than the height of the remainder of the sidewall. Preferably, the sidewall (21) of the base (20) is made of elastomer, at least in the gripping area (22 and 23). The compact may comprise a side closer placed in the gripping area, under an elastomer layer. In another embodiment, the base comprises a flat base (25), a lip (50) acting as a sidewall (21) and a pusher (40) in the shape of an arc or U, trapped between the lip and the base.

In particular, the container is useful for the shipment and storage of consumer electronics of different sizes, weights and shapes. The container includes a base having a bottom, at least two end walls and at least two side walls. The base includes base partitions forming a plurality of lower cavities for receiving the consumer electronics. The base partitions are spaced from one another and arranged between the end walls and the side walls. Each lower cavity has a width extending between the side walls. The container also includes a bottom surface including a plurality of cover partitions forming a plurality of upper cavities adapted to align with the lower cavities of the base to form compartments configured to store the consumer electronics.

An inner slide card with integral tray (12) is loaded with items, and inserted into an outer sleeve (200). Receiving apertures (38) and securing tabs (40) hold and secure the items in the tray. An engaging element (42), integral to the slide card or tray cooperatively engages locking elements and stopping elements (240, 216) integral to the outer sleeve. The cooperative engagement of the elements provides an optional child-resistant feature and an optional spill-resistant feature. A release button (224) integral to the outer sleeve disengages the child-resistant feature.

The foldable cushion plate is adhered to the base, and has a movable wall projecting from the extension side and turnable relative to the base to move to an unfolded or folded position so that the cushion modules can be assembled together to form a first or second packaging configuration.

Abstract: A titration package and method for enabling compliance with a regimen of changing dosage of medication over a period of time includes a backing having an array of receivers with the array including a plurality of columns and a plurality of rows. A plurality of sets of Memantine tablets are provided with each tablet set having a common dose of medication and a different does than a tablet of a different set. Each set of tablets is disposed in receivers of one having an adjacent row and an adjacent column. Indicia is provided and disposed adjacent to the columns and rows for displaying common days and successive weeks.

Abstract: Container (1) designed to hold cosmetic products including a lid (10) typically equipped with an interior mirror (60) and a base (20) equipped with an intermediate support (30) with two faces, front and back, surrounded by a frame (31). The frame (31) of the intermediate support is equipped with a first attachment device (34) which cooperates with a second attachment device (23) positioned on the base so that, when the intermediate support is detached from the base, it remains part of the base due to the cooperation of the first and second attachment devices (34 and 23), and is able to pivot around the first attachment device. Preferably, the first attachment device (34) is a protuberance equipped with an end fold (33) and the second attachment device (23) is a hollow body capable of accommodating and containing the end fold. Abstract: A separation system includes an air separator that in one embodiment primarily receives Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) containing relatively light MSW recyclable materials such as paper, cardboard, plastic containers, and/or metal containers. The air separator blows the relatively light MSW recyclable materials up though a chamber and onto a first conveyer while the other relatively heavy MSW material drops down a chute onto a second conveyer. A separation screen receives the relatively light MSW recyclable materials from the air separator and separates the relatively flat paper and cardboard from the plastic and metal containers.

Abstract: To facilitate instant playback of an ordered title (e.g., a movie), a file pertaining to the title is fragmented into a header and segments. The header is seeded in all boxes in service and none, one or more segments are distributed to the network of boxes. When the title is ordered, the header is instantly played back while the segments, if not locally available, are streamed in respectively from the boxes having the segments to enable continuous playback of the ordered title. Should one of the boxes fails to deliver the segment according to a certain requirement (e.g., a lower transmission rate), the box gets immediately replaced by a substitute machine that continues to supply the segment from where it was stopped.

Abstract: A frame over which woven wire mesh is to be stretched and secured to form a sieving screen and which can be used to screen solids from drilling mud recovered from down-hole when drilling for oil or gas. The frame comprises a rectilinear molded plastics frame having edge regions by which it is secured in place in a shaker. Within the frame is a plurality of rectilinear windows formed by an orthogonal array of intersecting ribs also of molded plastics material. Some of the ribs are internally reinforced by a structure comprising two spaced apart layers of orthogonal intersecting spaced apart wires, running parallel to the length and breadth of the rectilinear shape of the frame within the ribs to increase their rigidity. The edge regions of the frame are reinforced internally by metal box-section members joined at their four corners and defining perimeter reinforcement, and the ends of the wires are secured to the box-section members.

The base at least partially defines a filter compartment configured to house a filter cartridge. A first valve assembly is positioned within the base and defines a first passage and a second passage. A valve stem is movably positioned within the first passage. With the valve stem in a first position, the first passage provides fluid communication between the inlet and a first outlet and with the valve stem in a second position the second passage provides fluid communication between the inlet and the filter compartment. A body is rotatably coupled to the base and includes a first cam configured to urge the valve stem from the first position to the second position as the body rotates with respect to the base.

Abstract: A flexible water bottle is provided that includes an approach for filtering unfiltered water within the bottle. The bottle includes a filter assembly located within the cap of the bottle such that the filter assembly need not descend into the bottle cavity when the cap is screwed on, thereby not displacing water while screwing on the cap. The filter assembly has an axial flow orientation. An illustrated filter assembly includes paper filters covering the upper and lower ends and can include an activated charcoal filter in between the paper filters. Water is filtered when pressure generated by squeezing the bottle forces water from the bottle cavity through the filter along an axial flow path and out through a spout.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a novel method to improve the selectivities of polybenzoxazole (PBO) membranes prepared from aromatic polyimide membranes for gas, vapor, and liquid separations. The PBO membranes that were prepared by thermal treating aromatic polyimide membranes containing between 0.05 and 20 wt-% of a poly(styrene sulfonic acid) polymer. These polymers showed up to 95% improvement in selectivity for CO2/CH4 and H2/CH4 separations compared to PBO membranes prepared from corresponding aromatic polyimide membranes without a poly(styrene sulfonic acid) polymer.

Abstract: A modular flow through or push back storage rack system has a transfer assembly with a plurality of modular carriage units located in a warehouse storage bay. The carriage units are arranged in side-by-side pairs. Each side-by-side pair of carriages defines a space between the carriages. Further, the side-by-side pairs of carriages are arranged in end-to-end alignment. Each carriage is preferably provided as an endless loop link track. An inter-carriage transport unit extends between a space between one side-by-side pair of carriage units and another space between an adjacent pair of side-by-side carriage units. Each of the carriage units and the transport unit may be supported by a cross beam. The transport unit preferably extends between adjacent cross beams of adjacent pairs of carriages. The transfer assembly maintains the storage units at a substantially level plane and may modulate a transfer speed of the storage units between adjacent carriages.

By depending upon the boom component display apparatus of the present invention, it is possible to prevent the unit booms from being assembled in the wrong connecting sequences.

Abstract: A bottle cap includes a mouthpiece having a dispensing orifice, a collar which extends downward from the mouthpiece to engage the bottle, a cover connected to the collar by a hinge and movable between open position and closed position covering the orifice, and a tamper-evident strap connecting the closed cover to the collar. The strap is hingeably joined to the collar by a lower portion of the strap and connected to the cover by a barbed upper portion. The upper portion cooperates with the cover to retain the strap to prevent manipulation of the strap to open the cover without severing the strap. The strap has a severable mid point which severs when the cover is first opened. When the cover is opened, both portions of the strap remain attached to the bottle and the lower portion swings away from the collar providing visible evidence of prior opening.

The ribbon is preferably drawn under tension from a reel, and the packages are linked by mechanical couplers (FIG. 11) which are separable in a direction orthogonally to the traction force. In use, the plug is screwed into and out of a container wall opening, having an internally threaded portion and an unthreaded portion, the sealing gasket being compressed between the unthreaded opening portion and the plug gasket seat and lying in close proximity to the internal thread. The gasket seat acts to prevent interengagement of the sealing gasket and the opening internally threaded portion.

The molten thermoplastic and the glass fibers are molded into the endcap shape. An outer surface of the pressure vessel is finished in accordance with another aspect of the invention. A pressurizable bladder with an inwardly facing surface is deflated. The outer surface of the vessel is heated to soften the thermoplastic. The pressure vessel is positioned in the bladder so that the inwardly facing surface of the bladder is adjacent to an outer surface of the pressure vessel. The bladder is pressurized to move the bladder inwardly into contact with the adjacent surfaces to each other.

Abstract: A display device includes a chute supporting products in a stacked arrangement and a cartridge assembly for dispensing a lowermost product. The cartridge assembly includes a movable pocket biased in a closed position. A lever switch has a portion disposed within the pocket. An escapement member has an escapement arm and an escapement shelf disposed over the pocket. A cam body coupled to the lever switch has a cam surface. A timer device is disposed between the pocket and escapement member. As a product is removed from the pocket, the lever switch is raised. As the pocket is closed, the cam surface engages the escapement member, moving the escapement member into a retracted position, and allowing a product to drop from the chute into the pocket. This depresses the lever switch, moving the cam body and returning the escapement member to its forward position.

The system ensures uniformity of distribution of the dispersed phase within the continuous-phase liquid by moving the fluid through the dispense cartridge, such as with a continuous or pulsating flow. In one embodiment, peristaltic pumps are positioned upstream and downstream of the dispense cartridge, in fluid communication with and forming a single loop with a fluid source. Circulation between the fluid source and the dispense cartridge is maintained. In a second embodiment, a pump circulates fluid into and out of the dispense cartridge and is also in fluid communication with a fluid source such as with a pinch valve to allow proper filling of the dispense cartridge from the fluid source. In a third embodiment, a reversing pump is placed between the dispense cartridge and fluid source to continually or continuously pump fluid into and out of the dispense cartridge.

Electrode traces in the touch panel assembly detect interruptions in electrode fields and are accepted as user inputs for dispensing a beverage. A controller conducts the lighting, dispensing, and reconfiguring operations for the flavor selection areas on the user interface. The touch panel assembly further includes provisions for increasing a user interface area to increase visibility of a particular flavor, as well as bonus flavors on a beverage dispenser. The removable fittings each include an orifice for entry of water to be carbonated into the carbonator. The carbonator probe is a single wire probe with timed refill.

Abstract: A flexible pouch defining a variable volume storage chamber and one-way valve assembly for aseptically storing a substance, dispensing multiple portions of the stored substance therefrom in cooperation with a pump, and maintaining substance remaining in the pouch in an aseptic condition sealed with respect to ambient atmosphere. The one-way valve includes a valve seat and elastic valve cover portion overlying the valve seat forming an interference fit therewith defining a normally-closed seam therebetween. The valve portion is movable radially between (i) a normally closed position with the valve portion engaging the valve seat, and (ii) an open position with at least a segment of the valve portion spaced radially away from the valve seat to allow substance from the storage chamber through the valve opening. The one-way valve maintains substance remaining in the variable-volume storage chamber in an aseptic condition sealed with respect to the ambient atmosphere.

The pressure system creates a pressurized air space between the keg inner walls and the bag to assist in the dispensing of the beer. The pressure system has a keg one-way air valve mounted to a top wall of the keg to permit entry of pressurized air into the keg. The pressure system has a pressure reservoir mounted in the dispensing apparatus outside the keg and in fluid flow communication with the keg one-way valve. The reservoir stores a charge of pressurized air and supplies at least a portion of this charge to the keg through the keg air valve when the dispensing apparatus is operated to dispense the beer. The reservoir provides a reserved charge of pressurized gas that is on hand to reduce dampening pressure fluctuations during beer dispensing which can result in beer frothing, especially during the early stages of beer dispensing when the air head space in the keg is small.

Abstract: The present invention is a top for a dispensing container. The top includes a base, a nozzle portion extending from a first end of the base, and a tab integrally formed with the nozzle portion at a neck down portion. The nozzle portion has an outer wall defining an internal conduit for passage of a liquid, powder and/or gel. The tab includes a tip end sealing the internal conduit and at least one shock absorbing portion. When the tab is twisted, the tip end is removed from the nozzle portion at the neck down portion, thereby opening the internal conduit. The shock absorbing portion can include a slot, an area with reduced thickness, a flex area, or a combination thereof. The top can be included on a container for storing liquids, powders and/or gels.

Abstract: In an embodiment of the invention there is provided a membrane fitment designed and sized to be inserted into the orifice defined by a container. Retention structure on the fitment cooperates with complimentary structure on the internal wall of the container orifice to secure the fitment within the orifice such that the combination forms an excellent primary seal. Tamper evidence is offered by the normal requirement for initial membrane removal. Novel designs for the membrane, its associated pull ring, and the frangible removal structure are taught in various embodiments. The novel designs may promote facile initial removal suitable for a child. In addition, the novel designs avoid the potential hazards presented by prior art membranes.
