Abstract: An air filtration system and method for the remediation of hydrazine from contaminated air. The system is provided in the form of a container with an inlet port and an outlet port containing absorbent pads or filters or wipes saturated with a solution of a dicarbonyl compound. As contaminated air passes through the container, hydrazine present within the air reacts with the dicarbonyl compound and becomes neutralized, thereby resulting in the exit of pure air from the container. The absorbent pads can also be used independently to remove hydrazine liquid spill.

A pulse rectifier, which is downstream from the step-up converter, can be connected at the output to a drive motor of the rail vehicle and it is capable of converting the intermediate circuit DC voltage of the step-up converter into a motor drive voltage for driving the drive motor. A control unit activates the step-up converter in operation such that the converter generates the predetermined rated intermediate circuit DC voltage for a mains DC voltage below a predetermined rated intermediate circuit DC voltage as the intermediate circuit DC voltage.

Abstract: A constant contact side bearing assembly for a railcar including a housing with wall structure defining a central axis for the side bearing assembly and a multipiece cap. The cap is arranged in operable combination with the housing and includes a movable first member and a movable second member carried by the first member. A portion of the second member extends beyond the nousing and defines a friction surface for the cap. A spring resiliently urges the friction surface of the cap into frictional contact with railcar body structure. The cap members define cooperating angled surfaces therebetween for urging wall structure on the first member and wall structure on the second member into frictional engagement with the wall structure on said housing in response to a vertical load acting on the friction contacting surface on the cap.

Abstract: A crash-resistant front apron for a rail vehicle is provided. The front apron includes an apron cover, a first support part supporting the apron cover, a second support part attached to a frame of the rail vehicle and a friction coupling release mechanism which connects the first support part to the second support part by a friction connection. In the event of a crash of the rail vehicle, in which a collision force acts on the front apron cover causing a torsion of the first support part relative to the second support part, the friction coupling release mechanism releases the friction connection.

Abstract: This invention presents a system that produces polysilicate in acidic form that can be used for binding and agglomeration purposes. It also provides a colour indicator system to optically identify the optimal pH working range at which, for practical purposes, the polymerisation speed is the most convenient. The system also relates to the application of these polysilicic products for preserving wooden structures against aging and rot by reinforcing the cellulose microstructures through filling and binding with acidic polysilicate.

Abstract: A pigment particle composition which comprises calcium carbonate particles and pigment particles, its method of manufacture and its use. According to the present invention, the calcium carbonate particles are carbonated so that they bind to each other, in which case calcium carbonate structures are generated, which comprise pigment particles and which form essentially opaque and stable pigment-calcium carbonate aggregates. It is possible to manufacture the composition by atomizing calcium hydroxide-bearing pigment slurry into a carbon dioxide-bearing gas, in which case the calcium hydroxide is carbonated in order to precipitate the calcium hydroxide particles to be attached to each other and the carbonation is continued until essentially all of the calcium hydroxide has been converted into calcium carbonate. The composition is suitable for use, among others, in paints, coating materials, fillers, polymers and printing inks.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a novel pallet design to hold and transport products from the point of manufacture to the point of sale. The advantage of this pallet design is that it provides the necessary means for coupling at each corner, a vertical profile which in turn is attached by an upper frame, because of which there is no need to change the product from the pallet in the trajectory from the factory to the point of sale, since the fixing of vertical profiles to the pallet together with the upper frame provide the product with the security and necessary firmness for the transportation of the same. One of the most important pieces of the present invention are the corner lugs, which are disposed in each of the corners of the pallet, and an angular cut which works together with a fastening sleeve coupled to the corner lug so as to form a hollow space of the required size to receive vertical profiles and keep them firm and strong during the whole trajectory of the product.
