Abstract: A ride system is provided that allows selective relative positioning of vehicles in an amusement or theme park ride to simulate racing or other effects. The ride system includes a chassis that is adapted to be supported by and to travel on or along a length of track of a particular ride. A support is attached to the chassis and moves with the chassis during operation of the ride. The ride system includes first and second passenger vehicles that are spaced apart on and supported by the support. A drive assembly is linked to the support and configured to rotate the support about its central axis. During support rotation, the first and second vehicles are moved concurrently relative to the track to alter their relative positioning. The vehicles are each rotated about an axis that extends parallel to the rotation axis, and the rotation may be independent or concurrent.

Abstract: A car wash dolly that uses a single shaft having two camshaft lobes and a series of snap ring grooves. The bolt-less design of the dolly includes a stronger camshaft and minimized component count. The center link and wheels may be mounted directly on the shaft to produce a sturdy design for the dolly. Grooves and snap rings are provided to “lock” wheels in their place on the shaft and to keep wheels physically close to one another to prevent dirt or other debris from getting between the wheels. Optional thrust washers also may be provided between plastic wheels and snap rings to reduce friction between the wheels during operation of the dolly in a car wash facility. The dolly according to the present disclosure is intended to roll, via a conveyor chain, on a slotted track of an auto-laundry system. Because of rules governing Abstracts, this Abstract should not be used to construe the claims in this patent application.

In this process, a fiber (3) is drawn through a bath (15) of molten liquid metal so as to coated with the latter, the liquid metal bath (15) being maintained in a crucible (9) of the “levitation” type, which at least partly eliminates contact between the liquid metal and the crucible (9). The bath (15) is fed with metal, during the process, by a metal powder (16). Thanks to the invention, the molten metal bath is fed in a simple and effective manner.

The diffusers taper in the downstream direction. The injector head desirably has inlets (117) for a first gas such as a metal alkyl disposed in radial rows which terminate radially inward from the reactor wall to minimize deposition of the reactants on the reactor wall. The injector head desirably also has inlets (125) for a second gas such as ammonia arranged in a field between the rows of first gas inlets, and additionally has a center inlet (135) for the second gas coaxial with the axis of rotation.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method for protecting especially injured or stressed skin regions of a teat during the milking process. In said method, the teat is wrapped in an overlapping manner in a film that is a combination of planar support and an adhesive layer, by means of which the film sticks to itself and to the skin. The thickness and the elastic and/or plastic deformability of the adhesive layer are selected such that the adhesive layer compensates the shearing forces acting from the film onto the skin when the teat is stretched during the milking process, and/or the adhesive layer is selected in such as way as to detach from the skin without substantially injuring the corneocyte layer when a force acts on the adhesive layer in the longitudinal direction of the teat.
