Abstract: Fluidic systems and methods of determining properties of fluids flowing therein. The fluidic systems and methods make use of a micromachined device that determines at least one property of the fluid within the system. The micromachined device includes a base structure on a substrate and a tube structure extending from the base structure and spaced apart from a surface of the substrate. The tube structure has at least one pair of geometrically parallel tube portions substantially lying in a plane, and at least one continuous internal passage defined at least in part within the parallel tube portions. A drive element induces vibrational movement of the tube structure in the plane of the tube structure and induces resonant vibrational movements in the tube portions in the plane of the tube structure. A sensing element senses deflections of each tube portion in the plane of the tube structure.

Abstract: A method for determining a load on a driven component of a rotating or stationary electromechanical system includes locating a rotationally flexible shaft portion in operable communication with a driving component having a drive rotor rotable about an axis and the driven component. The shaft portion is operably connected thereto. Angular positions of the drive rotor and the driven component are determined. A magnitude of a load on the driven component is calculated based on a difference in angular position of the drive rotor and the driven component and a known torsional rigidity of the shaft portion.

In the complex sensing apparatus in accordance, since an insertion projections of a first PCB are inserted into a through-holes of a second PCB to be press-fitted to each other, the first PCB is securely coupled to the second PCB. In addition, since a support member configured to surround and support an edge of the first PCB is coupled to the second PCB, the first PCB is more securely coupled to the second PCB. Accordingly, since there is no probability of separating the first PCB from the second PCB and there is no probability of occurrence of cracks in a soldered part between the first and second PCBs, reliability of products can be improved.

Abstract: A torque detection device for a power steering which is less liable to be influenced by external factors or by a bending force exerted on a shaft. In the torque detection device, a torque is generated between an input shaft, which is turned interlockedly with a steering handle for operating the traveling direction of a vehicle, and an output shaft turned interlockedly with the input shaft so as to steer the vehicle. An assisting force is exerted on the output shaft by an assisting unit that is determined based on the detection result. The torque detection device is provided between the input shaft and the output shaft and includes a cam mechanism by which a torque generated between the input shaft and the output shaft is converted into a thrust force, and a pressure sensor for detecting the thrust force into which the torque is converted by the cam mechanism.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a board cutting device, which comprises a base frame, a push stem, a blade, a first one-direction driving mechanism, and a second one-direction driving mechanism. One end of the push stem is linked with the base frame, and there is a handle at the other end. The blade is attached on the push stem and is able to simultaneously revolve with the push stem relative to the base frame. The middle portion of the blade is a protruded cutting arc. The first one-direction driving mechanism is utilized to adjust the angle between the push stem and the blade automatically, and the second one-direction driving mechanism can be utilized to control the automatic positioning of the downward cutting blade. Therefore, the blade can avoid arbitrary departing from the prep board and the device is able to achieve the object of better manipulation, less strenuous effort, and more accurate cutting.

Abstract: A vertical shaft machine includes a base, a blade seat and two sliding seats. The base has a worktable thereon. The blade seat is disposed on the workable. The blade seat has two sides each formed with at least one dovetailed groove. The two sliding seats are respectively disposed at the two sides of the blade seat. Each of the sliding seats includes a dovetailed sliding block which corresponds to the dovetailed groove of the blade seat for the sliding seat to be slid on the blade seat steadily. The sliding seats can resist other pull force and push force except the force from the sliding direction so as to slide on the blade seat steadily, enhancing the processing quality effectively.

The branch pipe is branched into a main pipe and an auxiliary pipe, which are straight pipes having openings and connected together in a branch shape. The blow member is connected to a branch point of the branch pipe. The branch pipe simulates resonance characteristic of a tapered pipe having a predetermined length, a predetermined distance between the upper base and the vertex, and a predetermined sectional area of the upper base commensurate with the sectional area of the main pipe.

Abstract: A compositional tool classifies and indexes loops in a library of audio loops by generating a time-stamped series of the durations of the percussive events that comprise each loop. The duration of a percussive event is based on spectral masking, in which a subsequent event having a spectral similarity to a prior event terminates the prior event. A composer queries the library with a query loop, and the system returns loops ranked according to the distance of their rhythmic signatures from that of the query loop, the distance determination being based on dynamic time warp analysis. Rhythmic signatures may also be used to classify and index video sequences.
