Abstract: A life-saving device has a garment and at least one airbag assembly. The at least one airbag assembly is mounted on the garment and each one of the at least one airbag assembly has a gas cylinder, a gas tube, multiple airbag layers and at least one connecting tube. The gas cylinder is attached to the garment. The gas tube is connected between the gas cylinder and the airbag layers. Each one of the at least one connecting tube is connected between two adjacent airbag layers. A user wearing the life-saving device can actuate the gas cylinder when falling from high altitudes to inflate the airbag layers via the gas tube and the at least one connecting tube. The inflated airbag layers will provide an air resistance to slow down the falling speed. Therefore, the user can safely descend to the ground.

Abstract: A multipurpose personal blanket includes a blanket member having a front side opposite a back side and opposed side edges connecting the front and back sides, the blanket member having upper and lower ends extending between the side edges. The blanket includes a padded area proximate the blanket member upper end. The blanket member defines a hole proximate the padded area configured to receive the head of the person therethrough. The blanket member includes an elongate configuration such that a torso, legs, and feet are covered when the person's head is in the hole. The blanket includes a foot pocket attached to the back side of the blanket member that defines an interior space with an open top for access thereto. The hole is offset from the padded area so that a user's head is supported thereby when a wearer is in a recumbent position.

Abstract: An alternating pressure pad (1) comprises inflatable cells (9,10) supplied with air by supply lines (7, 8) from a compressor (2) via supply line (3). A pressure controller controls the output of the compressor. Also connected to supply line (3) is an angle detection valve (40) restricting flow of air to atmosphere with increase in its angular position and a pressure transducer (17). Any increase in pressure due to an increase in angle of the detection valve (19) results in back pressure in the detection line. The pressure controller (2) uses the pressure transducer (17) to detect this change in pressure and then acts to adjust compressor output to the cells (9, 10) accordingly. The angle detection valve (40) is positioned under the head section of the pad to move with the head rest section.

Abstract: A method of washing fabric articles in a tunnel washer includes moving the fabric articles from the intake of the washer to the discharge of the washer through first and second sectors that are a pre-wash zone. In the pre-wash zone, liquid is counter flowed in the wash interior along a flow path that is generally opposite the direction of travel of the fabric articles. The fabric articles are transferred to a main wash zone, and a washing chemical is added to the main wash zone. At about the same time, counter flow is reduced or stopped. The main wash zone can be heated as an option. After a period of time (for example, between about 20 and 120 seconds) counter flow is resumed or increased. In the wash zone, this is considered an intermediate rinse. After the wash zone(s), the increased counter flow after chemical treatment amounts to a pre-rinse.
