Abstract: A grommet is disclosed which couples with a component under a hood of an automobile. The grommet has an insertion end with four wipers, a body, and a retaining loop opposite the insertion end. The wipers are generally triangular in cross-section with a distal tip of the triangle sweeping toward the body so that when the grommet couples with an orifice in the component by pressing the insertion end into the orifice, the wipers deform, but resist insertion. Due to the angle of the wipers, the wipers resist decoupling of the grommet from the component. The retaining loop defines an opening through which a tube, pipe, and/or wires are placed and secured with a bolt that engages threads of a bolt hole in the body.

Abstract: A method of forming at least one Micro-Electro-Mechanical System (MEMS) includes patterning a wiring layer to form at least one fixed plate and forming a sacrificial material on the wiring layer. The method further includes forming an insulator layer of one or more films over the at least one fixed plate and exposed portions of an underlying substrate to prevent formation of a reaction product between the wiring layer and a sacrificial material. The method further includes forming at least one MEMS beam that is movable over the at least one fixed plate. The method further includes venting or stripping of the sacrificial material to form at least a first cavity.

Abstract: Provided is a method of orienting a printer chip to enable interoperation between the printer chip and more than one type of printer. The printer chip has a plurality of sets of contacts, each set of contacts capable of interoperation with a different type of printer, cartridge, or photoconductor unit. The chip is installed on the cartridge with the chosen set of contacts oriented to mate with the electrical contacts in the printer cartridge receiving cavity of the printer. The result is a printer chip that can be installed on a printer cartridge or photoconductor unit in a plurality of orientations in order to allow the printer cartridge or photoconductor unit to interoperate with a plurality of types of printers, or allow a plurality of types of printer cartridges or photoconductor units to interoperate with a printer.

The wiring lug includes a fuse clip member comprising a first pressure plate and a fuse clip, a lug box comprising a second pressure plate, and a securing member operably coupled to the lug box. The securing member operates between a first position and a second position to move the second pressure plate of the lug box with respect to the first pressure plate of the fuse clip member. The first pressure plate and the second pressure plate have a clamping relationship when the securing member is in the first position and have a non-clamping relationship when the securing member is in the second position.

Abstract: A rotor blade is constituted by roll-forming, in which, while feeding an elongated cylindrical aluminum alloy tubing having desired dimensions by means of a feeder that feeds the aluminum alloy tubing, pressure is applied to the aluminum alloy tubing from opposed two directions. More specifically, the rotor blade is constituted by roll-forming the aluminum alloy tubing such that a cross-section thereof viewed from one longitudinal end thereof has an airfoil section shape and an integral hollow structure is formed inside the aluminum alloy tubing.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing a flat plate heat pipe, which includes steps of: forming a wick structure layer and at least one wick structure post on the inner surface of a chamber of a pipe, pressing the pipe to become a flattened pipe with the wick structure post being connected therein, connecting a conduit to the chamber, sealing both sides of the flattened pipe, evacuating air inside the chamber through the conduit, filling a working fluid into the chamber, and sealing the conduit. According to this method, a flat plate heat pipe can be made in a simplified manner with increased yield and reduced cost.

Abstract: According to a preferred embodiment, an improved method and apparatus for manufacturing tube and fin heat exchangers that includes a step for reducing the outer diameter of stock tubing to a value well below nominal prior to bending the tubing into hairpins. The reduced diameter increases the stiffness of the resultant hairpins and allows for efficient lacing of the heat exchanger fins and end plates. The method uses pre-size rollers that are adjustable for reducing the diameter of the tubing.
