Abstract: A pressure control system comprises separate conduits for supplying liquefied gas and vapor from a cryogen space defined by a cryogenic storage tank. A first conduit can deliver liquefied gas to a use device through a heater and then a first flow controller. A second conduit can deliver vapor to the use device with flow therethrough controlled by a second flow controller. The first flow controller is not exposed to liquefied gas at cryogenic temperatures because it is located downstream from the heater. For automatic operation a pressure sensor measures pressure inside the cryogen space and the first and second flow controllers are independently operable to maintain the pressure inside the cryogen space within a predetermined range. In a preferred embodiment the liquefied gas is a combustible fuel that is consumed by an internal combustion engine, which is the use device.

Abstract: A method provides for waste heat power generation or heat recovery and for a driving power with an absorption process using low grade heat sources. An apparatus also provides for such waste heat recovery in absorption process and to the used vapor-salt working fluid. A low temperature heat source is used as a heating working medium to heat in a regenerator by heat exchange the absorption liquid working fluid from the absorber and consisting of a salt absorbent and ammonia or carbon dioxide as an absorbed agent to form the absorbent and the superheated high pressure absorbed agent. The superheated and vaporized absorbed agent enters into a turbine to provide energy and generate power via turbine expansion step. After heat release, the resultant low pressure absorbed agent is discharged from the turbine and returns to the absorption step and contacts with the absorbent from the regeneration step to form the absorption liquid which can enter into the next thermodynamic cycle process.

Abstract: A jewelry item including a body, a locking bar provided at one end of the body with a locking groove, and a locker provided at the other end with an insert groove and an internal hinge post. A locking release button is mounted within the locker and rotatable around the internal hinge post. The release button has a first end for engagement of the locking groove and a second pressing end protruding out of the locker. A spring is mounted about the internal hinge post. When the first end of the release button is received within the locking groove in a closed position and the pressing end is depressed, the first end of the release button is rotated against the elastic spring force and the locking bar is decoupled from the locker into an open position.

Abstract: A method for producing thin silicon rods using a floating zone crystallization process includes supplying high frequency (HF) current to a flat induction coil having a central opening, a plurality of draw openings and a plate with a slot as a current supply of the HF current so as to provide a circumfluent current to the central opening. An upper end of a raw silicon rod is heated by induction using the flat induction coil so as to form a melt pool. A thin silicon rod is drawn upwards through each of the plurality of draw openings in the flat induction coil from the melt pool without drawing a thin silicon rod through the central opening having the circumfluent current.

Abstract: A coating is applied on an optical fiber drawn from a melted tip of an optical-fiber preform. A glass spin is applied to a coated optical fiber by gripping the coated optical fiber with at least a pair of spinning applying rollers arranged in different levels with parallel rotation axes, rotating the spinning applying rollers so that the coated optical fiber is guided in a predetermined direction, and alternately shifting the spinning applying rollers in opposite directions along the rotation axes. The glass spin is applied to the coated optical fiber in a state in which each of the rotation axes is tilted at a predetermined angle from a plane perpendicular to the first direction.

Abstract: In a method for determining a load and/or an unbalance of a laundry drum of a washing machine driven by an electric motor having a stator with at least one winding coupled to a power inverter controlled by a control unit, the laundry drum is accelerated to a predetermined rotational speed and then slowed down. During the slow-down, the motor operates in generator mode and an electric current flowing through the at least one winding and/or an electric intermediate circuit voltage is measured. The time dependence of the electric power supplied by the electric motor in generator mode is evaluated during a revolution of the laundry drum. The unbalance and/or the load are determined from the measured current values and/or the intermediate circuit voltage and from the determined electric power. A corresponding circuit arrangement and a washing machine with this circuit arrangement are also disclosed.
