Abstract: A device (10) for collecting debris from a ground surface (18). A flexible generally planar member (17) has openings (16) therethrough. When the device is laid on and forwardly moved over the ground surface (18) debris on the ground surface passes upwardly through the openings, over inclined pick-up portions (42) of the device and thence onto collection surfaces (25) of the device. The device has transversely extending openings (88) spaced in the lengthwise direction on inclined surfaces (68) of the pick-up portions (42) whereby under forward movement of the device (10) in use, debris is accumulated in the recesses (88). Debris accumulated in the recesses (88) tends to be retained therein during deceleration of the device (10).

Abstract: An apparatus and method are shown for installing a metal transition end on an open end of a length of plastic pipe having an outer diameter and an inner diameter by placing a stiffener sleeve within the inner diameter of the plastic pipe at a point which is circumscribed by the metal transition end. An installer apparatus is positioned over the open end of the length of plastic pipe and the metal transition end from the direction of the open plastic pipe end. The apparatus has a draw rod which extends along a horizontal axis generally aligned with the open pipe end. A metal stiffener sleeve is temporarily mounted on a segmented grip located on one end of the draw rod. An actuating sleeve, carried on the draw rod, allows the stiffener sleeve to be installed in a desired location within the open plastic pipe end by using the draw rod to first position the stiffener sleeve in the desired location.

Abstract: A system and method for restraining a vehicular brake pedal in depressed position. A system includes an elongated multi-section unit the length of which can be adjusted within a dynamic range by changing mutual positioning of the sections and locking the unit with an internal lock once the desired length has been achieved. Fastening of the internal lock is achieved through twisting of the unit around its axis. The restraining of the brake pedal is carried out with respect to a steering wheel, a portion of which is received and accommodated by a cradle on one end of the unit while a turnable foot on the other end of the system depresses the pedal.

Abstract: An insulating glass unit (IGU) assembly line capable of interleaving double and triple pane IGUs in accordance with an IGU production schedule. Visual indicators or prompts instruct operators at the assembly line in configuring a sequence of IGUs. Triple pane IGUs are assembled with minimal contamination of a center glass lite. A non-contact Bernoulli pad is used to lift a glass lite off from a horizontal or vertical support that conveys it from a glass washer to an assembly station. Each of multiple pads has a capacity to lift approximately seven to ten pounds. Use of multiple pads per glass sheet or lite allows lites having dimensions up to 70 by 100 inches (assuming glass thickness of one quarter inch) to be assembled.

Abstract: A device for mounting of a plumbing fixture such as a faucet or the like through a hole in a counter, a sink or the like and connection of the fixture to a supply line. A collar member of the device is slidingly retained on an inlet tube of the fixture by a connecting nut of the supply line. A rod, guided in its axial movement by a guide member that is connected to the collar member, has a flag member that is rotatable between a stowed position and a deployed position. In the stowed position, the device may be passed through the hole when connected to the plumbing fixture and the supply line. In the deployed position, the flag member increases the axial profile of the device and co-acts with the body of the plumbing fixture in retaining the plumbing fixture in the hole.
