Abstract: A method is disclosed for making a bullet and fragmentation resistant vest. The method may include layering the following materials, in the following order, to create a pre-sewing ballistic pack: two layers of a Barrday TWF2006 and Twaron 2040 basket weave, ten layers of Barrday U600 four ply, and eleven layers of Dyneema SB21. The method may also include sewing at least one bar tack into the pre-sewing ballistic pack to create a pre-heat-treatment ballistic pack. The method may further include maintaining the pre-heat-treatment ballistic pack at a temperature of between about 65 and about 73 degrees Celsius at about one atmosphere for about 45 minutes to create a completed ballistic pack. The method may additionally include covering the completed ballistic pack to create a covered ballistic pack, and inserting the covered ballistic pack into a carrier vest.

Abstract: Goggles include a strap, a frame, at least one lens, and first and second connectors. The strap has opposite strap free ends. The frame has a lateral center and opposite lateral end portions. Each connector has a base portion for connecting to the opposite lateral end portion of the frame, and a strap-mounting portion for connecting to the opposite strap free end of the strap. Each strap-mounting portion has a strap connecting end where the strap meets the strap-mounting portion. Each of the first and second connectors have a first orientation for helmet-less usage and a second orientation for helmet usage. The strap connecting end of each connector is located a greater distance from the lateral center of the frame when the connector is in a second orientation than when in the first orientation.

Abstract: A calf muscle and tendon guard for wearing on a user's leg to cover and protect the user's calf muscles and achilles tendon against begin severed from contact with a blade of an ice skate includes a body which substantially surrounds the leg and ankle of a user and a flexible guard comprised of a cut resistant material substantially covering only the area of the calf muscle and the achilles tendon, said flexible guard substantially flexing with said body and conforming to the anatomy of the leg and ankle when worn.

Abstract: An embodiment of a leg protector of the present disclosure includes an upper thigh pad that is structurally attached to an upper bracing shell including lateral and medial uprights. The upper shell and thigh pad can be held to the player via a strap and/or garment. The uprights extend to uni- or polycentric hinges arranged on, and in one embodiment biased against, either side of the player's knee. A connecting member extends in a frontward direction from each hinge and attaches to a patella pad held in place over the player's knee. The patella pad may additionally be connected to the thigh pad via one or more connecting strip. Each hinge is also connected to a lower bracing shell, which includes lateral and medial uprights that extend down and around the player's lower leg, anteriorly or posteriorly. The lower shell can also be fitted via a strap or garment.

Abstract: An architecture is presented that provides a combination gown and glove garment designed primarily for use in hospital and healthcare settings. The garment comprises an apron comprising a first end and a second end, and at least one sleeve secured to the first end of the apron. The at least one sleeve can also comprise a glove secured to an end of the sleeve as an integral unit. The glove comprises a wrist gather for retaining the glove on a hand of the user. Furthermore, the garment comprises a neck tie and/or a waist tie for securing the garment to a user. Multiple compressed garments are then removably secured together into one unit. The multiple compressed garments are secured via a tear-away edge at the top of the unit, such that users can rapidly don the garment in one fluid motion, tearing it away from the unit.

Abstract: A long sleeve shirt construction that incorporates a stretch panel in the sleeve. The stretch panel extends part or all of the length of the sleeve. The stretch panel extends around a portion of the circumference of the sleeve either with a constant width or tapered and is positioned at the underside of the sleeve. Optionally, the sleeve includes a hold tab for retaining the sleeve in the rolled up position.

Abstract: Embodiments herein provide adhesive zipper tape. A zipper may be coupled to adhesive zipper tape to form a zipper assembly. In various embodiments, the adhesive zipper tape may be coupled to a piece of fabric, such as in a garment, around an opening. The zipper may then be used to open and close the opening. In various embodiments, the adhesive zipper tape may manifest an adhesive quality when activated by an activation stimulus, such as heat or air.

The crawling encouragement garment includes front and rear panels with one or more pockets configured to receive pressure generating members such as hollow plastic balls or elongate foam-like members. The pressure generating members apply gentle pressure to the child laying on his front side or on his rear side such that the child is encouraged to roll onto his front side and to climb up on hands and knees and thereby learn to crawl in this position. The crawling encouragement garment is provided with adjustable coupling mechanisms to reliably secure the garment to children of various sizes. One or more of the pockets may be removable when not in use.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for construction of a protective head covering (helmet) to be worn by individuals engaged in activity that may, without the apparatus, cause concussive brain injury. The helmet, which is comparable in weight and envelope to conventional helmets, can be constructed from commercially available materials. The design features a dual shell concept where outer shell deflection under load triggers the primary attenuation mechanism. A second more rigid inner shell defines a space where one or more compartmentalized sealed elastomer energy absorbing cells are located. These cells contain either a gas or liquid agent designed to adaptively convert potentially injurious normal impact force energy to energy that is channeled between the shells and therefore harmless to the wearer. A portion of this converted energy will be stored and then utilized to automatically re-set the apparatus for the next impact event.

The one or more shock-absorbing pads are disposed on outer surface portion of the inner lining member. The one or more shock-absorbing pads are installed between the inner lining member and the outer lining member. The band accepting groove is provided on the outer surface portion of the outer lining member so as to accept and retain a band of a goggle therein. The inner surface portion of the inner lining member is contoured to fit a portion of rear head of a user so as to protect the user's head from external shock. The head protector is configured to be held against the rear head of the user wearing the goggle through the band of the goggle.

Abstract: A helmet, specifically for the protection of a head of a person during leisure activities, is disclosed. The helmet has a shell at least partially made of a deformable material. The shell has an interior surface facing the head of a person wearing the helmet. The shell comprises a depression in the interior surface. An inner lining element is fit into the depression, wherein a hollow guiding space is formed between the inner lining element and the shell. The hollow guiding space has a slit at a forehead-sided rim of the shell. The helmet further has a visor. The visor at least partially is located movably inside the hollow guiding space, such that the visor at least partially can be pushed out of the slit into a face region of the person wearing the helmet and can be pulled back into the hollow guiding space.

The ribs or bars can each comprise a cloth strip or pocket sewn onto the garment, to contain a lightweight rod of open-cell or closed-cell polyethylene foam. Three or more of these ribs can be sewn onto the front, and two or more sewn onto the back.

Abstract: An apparatus and method relating to a waterless urinal assembly capable of being mounted, molded, or assembled upon a conventional urinal. The waterless urinal assembly comprises mainly a bowl assembly and a waterless urinal cartridge. An implementation of the apparatus includes a sheathing configured to seal the waterless urinal cartridge upon the bowl assembly. A further implementation includes an adapter piece configured to releasably couple to the sheathing and a waste hose configured to couple with the adapter piece. The waste hose may then be inserted through the waste line of the conventional urinal. The conversion of a conventional urinal into a waterless or semi-waterless urinal promotes water conservation and reduces costs associated with maintenance while preventing the spread of harmful bacteria in lavatories.

These areas may include, but are not limited to, composting units, sewers, septic systems, holding tanks or areas where the waste may be combined with additional water. Abstract: An improved bassinet frame for an infant playard comprising a plurality of structural members configured to nest within a playard top frame top and rest upon supports on corner members of the playard frame. The bassinet frame includes a pair of spaced-apart, parallel side members connected by a pair of perpendicularly aligned uplift preventing end members. The bassinet frame end members extend beneath playard frame end members when the bassinet frame is deployed for use such that the playard end frame members inhibit uplift of the bassinet frame. The side members each further include a joint positioned approximately midway along the respective lengths allowing the bassinet frame to be folded along an axis parallel to its width. Folding the bassinet frame retracts the end members from beneath the playard end frame members and allows the bassinet frame to be removed from the playard.

Abstract: A portable, foldable yoga mat/meditation mat includes a plurality of linear indentations so that the mat can be folded into various sizes and used in various aspects. For example, when the mat is unfolded along all linear indentations (i.e., in a completely unfolded state), the mat could be used as a typical yoga mat. When the mat is folded along some but not all linear indentations, the mat could be used as a comfortable meditation or sitting mat. When the mat is folded along all linear indentations, the folded mat becomes a portable sized block which can be easily carried in either customized or non-customized carriers and conveniently stored with other regular shaped items.

A stereoscopic air passing net is provided for sucking the bed inside air through an intake tube and an intake inlet of an air warming circulator device. A bedding top cover air circulating net is attached to the bedding top cover, and a sleeping pad air circulating net is attached to the sleeping pad. A sleeping pad air circulating cloth covers the sleeping pad air circulating net. Further, the stereoscopic air passing net is disposed between the bedding top cover and the sleeping pad, and is placed on the sleeping pad. The stereoscopic air passing net is connected to the air warming circulator device, so that it is possible to retrofit the ecological sleep bedding to an existing bedding top cover and an existing sleeping pad.

The skirting pieces connect to the base using hook and loop strips which are securely sewn to each piece. Because bed's range in height off the floor and crib springs are adjusted as the child grows, the skirts have adjustable lengths. Each of the skirt pieces have a removable section attached to the bottom edge using hook and loop. For cribs this piece is eight inches and for regular beds the piece is six inches.

Abstract: An improved system for retaining a top bed sheet onto a bottom bed sheet is disclosed using a plurality of attachment mechanisms. In one exemplary approach a first attachment device is associated with the top sheet and a second attachment device is associated with a bottom sheet. The attachment devices are complementary in both operation and location such that the first attachment device selectively engages the second attachment mechanism to customize the desired positioning and retention of the top sheet with respect to the bottom sheet.

Abstract: A magnetic bedding securing system is disclosed that may releasably secure a blanket or other piece of bedding in a desired position on a bed, while allowing an individual to enter or leave the bed easily. The magnetic bedding securing system may include a first piece of bedding and a second piece of bedding. A first magnet may be disposed in the first piece bedding. A second magnet may be attached to the second piece of bedding. The second piece of bedding may be configured to be disposed atop the bed and to receive the first piece of bedding. Once the first magnet is aligned over the second magnet an attraction force between the first magnet and the second magnet may maintain the first piece of the bedding in the desired position.

Abstract: Disclosed are multiple panel blankets, and related methods of construction, that allow the use of just one blanket that has multiple panels attached together, one or more of which may be removed for various applications. The user can place an infant/baby on a base panel and then cover it with the other panels attached to the base panel. Likewise, the parent could use all the panels. In one embodiment, a multiple paneled blanket may comprise a base panel and at least one upper panel located on the base panel. The at least one upper panel has at least one of a length or a width coextensive with a corresponding length or width of the base panel. The at least one upper panel is fastened to the base panel along at least a portion of corresponding sides of the base panel and the at least one upper panel that provide the coextensive length or width.

A portion of the mat and a separate plate is rotatably mounted within the flat top so as to be capable of being selectively raised and lowered to form a seat back for a patient reclining or sitting on the pad on an elongated side edge of the table. The table may also include transfer bars which help to move a patient on and off the table or when moving to a standing position or while simply standing. The table may further include a stowable foot stop, which prevents backward movement of the patient's feet when the patient is standing between the transfer bars. The table may also include a knee blocker, which helps to limit or prevent buckling of the patient's knees when the patient is standing between the transfer bars.
