Abstract: A pre-notched drip edge assembly and related method includes a plurality of drip edge sections interconnected end-to-end to form a continuous water barrier along a roof edge. Each drip edge section has a formed one-piece construction with a top flange and a bottom flange having an inverted L-shape with upper and lower legs. The forward edges of the top flange and the upper leg are integrally interconnected along a folded-over nose having a wedge-shape. A pair of notches are formed in the opposite ends of each drip edge section which extend through the upper edge of the lower leg and the forward edges of the upper leg and the top flange to define flat end tab areas that are inserted into the noses of the next adjacent drip edge sections to horizontally and vertically locate the same along the building roof.

Abstract: Gusset Block Construction deals with a block that is cored from all sides. The blocks are cubes and elongated cubes with a pyramid or elongated pyramid shaped cavity on each side resulting in a block in which each of the twelve edges is central on a gusset shape extending from said edge to the central axis of the block. With the use of a second octahedron block that fits within the pyramid shaped cavities a wall that requires no fastening can be built by placing octahedrons in the top cavities of a layer of blocks and placing another layer of blocks on it. These blocks will be able to come apart at the joints during an earthquake without completely disassembling and can return to original position when the earthquake stops. They can be molded in a two piece split mold and are scaleable; tapered piers could be made.

  • Publication number: 20120233941
Abstract: This invention provides support structures on roofs. Such support structure can be used to support a roof load, or a closure structure which closes an aperture in the roof, thus to provide access to the interior of a building through an aperture in the roof. The support structure can support a skylight to provide natural day-lighting, or a smoke vent, or a variety of other loads optionally relating to matter or energy communication between the inside and outside of the building. The support structure includes rails adapted to be supported by adjacent rib elevations on opposite sides of a flat of a roof panel, elevated above the water line of the panel flat. Where the support structure surrounds an aperture, a diverter seals a cut away portion of the rib structure and diverts water through the rib structure and laterally away from the rail and closure structure.

Abstract: Roof load supports support e.g. skylights and/or smoke vents, optionally including two or more closures in end-to-end relationship, from ribs of a metal roof. Where skylights are end-to-end over an aperture, mating strips support the skylights between upper and lower ends of the support structure. Supports of the invention are mounted above the water line whereby the number of water leaks about the mounting structure is greatly reduced. Water leakage is further reduced by re-designing the upper diverter and the lower closure, and providing for a second installation step. Condensation is further reduced by lifting the insulation inside the building to cover the sides of the closure support structure and providing a no-fastener securement of the insulation at an upper location in the closure support structure, and by providing thermally insulating materials as barriers to penetrating portions of fasteners, penetrating from outside the climate controlled building envelope.

The tablet packaging system may also include a first gas nozzle configured to direct a first flow of gas across the vibrating tray with the first flow of gas having a spaced relationship from the vibrating tray. The tablet packaging system may also include a second gas nozzle configured to direct a second flow of gas toward the vibrating tray. Further, the tablet packaging system may include a receiving hood configured to collect at least a portion of the gas provided by the first and second gas nozzles and to collect dust from the plurality of tablets.

Abstract: A particle separating structure for use with a turbine engine. The particle separating structure includes a main housing, first swirling structure, and second swirling structure. The first swirling structure is provided for swirling cooling fluid passing through a first cooling fluid flowpath defined in the main housing. The second swirling structure is provided for swirling cooling fluid passing through a second cooling fluid flowpath defined in the main housing. The first swirling structure is positionable in at least two positions, a first position allowing cooling fluid to pass through the first cooling fluid flowpath and a second position allowing cooling fluid to pass through the first and second cooling fluid flowpaths. The swirling of the cooling fluid causes particles in the cooling fluid to pass to a particle discharge zone while the cooling fluid passes out of the main housing through a cooling fluid outlet.

Abstract: Lawnmowers, in particular walk-behind lawnmowers, have a mulching function. A lawnmower discharge deflector guard for a lawnmower has a cutter blade rotatably mounted within a cutting cavity. The cutting cavity is in communication with a discharge chute and has a discharge chute outlet formed in a face of the lawnmower closable by a closure flap. The guard is configured for demountable attachment to the lawnmower adjacent the discharge chute outlet to enclose the outlet and receive, in use, grass cuttings therefrom. The guard forms a substantially air/grass cutting-tight seal with the face of the lawnmower. The guard has an operative inner surface having a substantially vertical portion forming a discharge aperture with the face of the lawnmower and extending below a cutting height of the lawnmower. A lawnmower incorporating the guard is also described.
