Abstract: The invention relates to a method for the simplified and accurately positioned fixing of a camshaft module with a camshaft and bearing blocks on a cylinder head. The bearing blocks, aligned in axial direction and with respect to an angle, may be fastened on the camshaft. The camshaft may be aligned via two alignment elements with respect to the cylinder head. Further, the individual bearing blocks may be screwed tightly with the cylinder head with simultaneous or interim rotation of the camshaft.

Abstract: 72% of all energy generated in an internal combustion engine is lost to the radiators and exhaust. Internal Combustion Energy Recovery, ICER, uses this energy by reflecting the infrared, IR, radiation from combustion to capture it with absorbing gas (to) increase cylinder pressure. This technology is adaptable to existing engine(s) as a “bolt on” modification.

  • Publication number: 20130055984
Abstract: A high thermal efficiency reciprocating hydrogen-fueled engine for ultra-high altitude long endurance flight and its method of operation are described. The engine is based on an opposed piston barrel design where long cylinders are employed to accommodate extraordinarily large compression and expansion strokes where the corresponding ratios are over 50:1, taking advantage of the very low ambient air pressures and temperatures at 60,000 ft and higher to reduce the overall weight and strength requirements of the inventive engine that would be a factor for operation at lower altitudes. The engine is designed to obtain more than 70% indicated thermal efficiency when operated at ultra-high altitudes of 60,000 ft and greater. A combination of large compression ratios combustion temperature optimization and management, instantaneous and complete combustion at TDC, followed by a rapid and long expansion stroke using tailored control of piston movement provide the means to achieve such high efficiencies.

Abstract: A prechamber spark plug may have a prechamber having a pre-determined aspect ratio and hole pattern to achieve particular combustion performance characteristics. The aspect ratio and hole pattern may induce a rotational flow of fuel-air in-filling streams inside the prechamber volume. The rotational flow of the fuel-air mixture may include both radial flow and axial flow characteristics based on the aspect ratio and hole pattern. Axial flow characteristics can include a first axial direction proximate the periphery of the rotational flow and a counter second axial direction approaching the center of the rotational flow. The radial and axial flow characteristics may further include radial air-fuel ratio stratification and/or axial air-fuel ratio stratification. The rotational flow, the radial flow and the axial flow may be adjusted by alteration of the aspect ratio and hole pattern to achieve particular combustion performance characteristics in relation to a wide variety of spark gap geometries.

Abstract: Disclosed is a liquid chemical for forming a water repellent protective film on a wafer that has at its surface a finely uneven pattern and contains silicon element at least at a part of the uneven pattern, the water repellent protective film being formed at least on surfaces of recessed portions of the uneven pattern at the time of cleaning the wafer. The liquid chemical contains: a silicon compound (A) represented by the general formula R1aSi(H)b(X)4?a?b and an acid; or a silicon compound (C) represented by the general formula R7gSi(H)h(CH3)w(Z)4?g?h?w and a base that contains no more than 35 mass % of water. The total amount of water in the liquid chemical is no greater than 1000 mass ppm relative to the total amount of the liquid chemical. The liquid chemical can improve a cleaning step that easily induces pattern collapse.

Abstract: A substrate cleaning method for cleaning a substrate on which a film is formed with a pattern in a vacuum-state processing chamber includes a preprocessing step where the film formed on the substrate on which the pattern has been formed by an etching process is cleaned by using a cleaning gas; and a consecutive step including an oxidation step where residues attached on a surface of the pattern are oxidized by using an oxidizing gas and a reduction step where the oxidized residues are reduced by using a reducing gas, which are consecutively carried out posterior to the preprocessing step. The gases used in the preprocessing step and the consecutive step are clustered by ejecting the gases into the processing chamber from a gas nozzle whose internal pressure PS is maintained to be higher than an internal pressure PO of the processing chamber.
