The new variety is a dwarfing rootstock that is resistant to fire blight (Erwinia amylovora) and crown rot (Phytophthora cactorum). The ‘G.214’ rootstock is useful in that it can be propagated clonally and used as a rootstock or root system for apple trees as well as for interstems of apple trees.

Abstract: A method of driving a lamp that uses a DC to AC inverter that is connected to a primary winding of a transformer is disclosed. The inverter frequency is variable, and in one embodiment, may be controlled by a voltage controlled oscillator. Circuitry is included that monitors the phase relationship between a voltage across a secondary of the transformer and a current through the primary of the transformer. The circuitry monitors the phase relationship and adjusts the inverter frequency, such as by adjusting voltage controlled oscillator, so that the phase relationship is maintained at a predetermined relationship.

Abstract: Input structures and topologies are provided for coupling a differential input into a first stage of a circuit, topology, or device. An input pin is coupled to an impedance divider that translates an input voltage to accommodate low input voltage levels, while not saturating an input differential pair. A termination pair with a center tap pin is further coupled to the input pins. The center tap facilitates coupling different termination configurations to the input signal. The topologies accommodate packaged devices that have at least three external pins, two pins for the coupling of a differential input signal, and a pin for the termination pair center tap.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for adaptively configuring an array of voltage transformation modules is disclosed. The aggregate voltage transformation ratio of the adaptive array is adjusted to digitally regulate the output voltage for a wide range of input voltages. An integrated adaptive array having a plurality of input cells, a plurality of output cells, or a plurality of both is also disclosed. The input and output cells may be adaptively configured to provide an adjustable transformer turns ratio for the adaptive array or in the case of an integrated VTM, an adjustable voltage transformation ratio for the integrated VTM. A controller is used to configure the cells and provide digital regulation of the output. A converter having input cells configured as a complementary pair, which are switched out of phase, reduces common mode current and noise. Series connected input cells are used for reducing primary switch voltage ratings in a converter and enabling increased operating frequency or efficiency.

Abstract: A packet receiver is provided that accurately estimates a frequency offset and a channel impulse response even when a transmitted packet is detected with an erroneous timing in a communication mode (typified by the LAN (local Area Network)) where packets are asynchronously transmitted, and thus provides a training sequence which can demodulate the received packet. The training sequence 101 is formed of K sequences 100-1 to 100-K serially connected, each formed of the same N symbols. Even in a channel where a inter-symbol interference occurs when such a training sequence is used, a received signal shifted by the time corresponding to N-symbols becomes the signal which is different by a phase difference caused by a frequency offset between the transmitter and the receiver. Thus, even if the head of a packet is detected with an erroneous timing, the frequency offset can be estimated.

Next, the colors, shades, and brightnesses of pixels of the mixed code image are categorized into groups based on a predetermined threshold, the mixed code image is divided into first and second code images, and first and second information are extracted by decoding the first and second code images, respectively. The first and second code images can be effectively decoded by decoding interpretation information, construction information, error control information, and code direction information stored in the first and/or second code images.

The bipolar transistor can also comprise a heavily doped buried layer below the collector, a base in electrical contact with a base contact, wherein the base is doped to a net second conductivity type and wherein the base spans a portion of the plurality of alternating doped regions, and an emitter disposed within the base, the emitter doped to a net first conductivity, wherein a portion of the alternating doped region under the emitter is doped to a concentration of less than about 3×1012 cm?2.

The yoke is held to the mounting plate by further fasteners. Vertical mounting plates can also be provided for mounting to the connectors. The bulkhead can be provided with mounting structure for mounting directly to the yokes.

The frequency and linked descriptor database is queried using a geographic reference to produce a list of local radio channels that includes a list of frequencies with linked descriptors. The list of radio channels is transferred into the channel memory of the scanner, and the receiver is sequentially tuned to the listed frequencies recalled from the list of radio channels while the corresponding linked descriptors are simultaneously displayed.

Abstract: A method for preparing hydrophilic pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) compositions is provided, wherein the method enables preparation of adhesives having a particular, optimized degree of adhesion. That is, the hydrophilic PSA is comprised of a hydrophilic polymer and a complementary short-chain plasticizing agent, wherein the hydrophilic polymer and plasticizing agent are capable of hydrogen bonding or electrostatic bonding to each other and are present in a ratio that optimizes key characteristics of the adhesive composition, such as adhesive strength, cohesive strength and hydrophilicity. The adhesive is useful in a wide variety of contexts, e.g., as a biomedical adhesive for application to the skin or other body surface, and as such finds utility in the areas of drug delivery systems (e.g., topical, transdermal, transmucosal, iontophoretic), medical skin coverings and wound healing products and biomedical electrodes.

In one embodiment, an elongated connector strip is concealed by the rail and spans multiple pickets.
