Abstract: Disclosed are partitions formed from a single blank that can be folded and glued on standard machinery, and that can be folded into an erected partition and loaded with product into a container using standard machinery. In certain embodiments, the partitions have a universal nature due to the curvilinear nature of the flaps of the partitions, which allow the partition to be used with bottles and other product of different dimensions.

Abstract: A packing box and method of forming a packing box provides a bottom plate, a pair of first side plates which upon final assembly are bent with respect to the bottom plate so as to face each other, a pair of second side plates which upon final assembly are bent with respect to the bottom plate so as to facing each other, and a pair of flaps at both sides of each of the first side plates which upon final assembly are bent with respect to the first side plate. Each of the flaps includes a first flap portion and a second flap portion, and before final assembly, the first flap portion is connected to a first side plate and the second flap portion is connected to the first flap portion, bent with respect to the first flap portion and affixed to one of the second side plates.

Abstract: A packaging container has a bottom part including a bottom wall, a front wall, a rear wall, and side walls, and has a lid part comprising a top wall, a front wall, a rear wall, and side walls. The rear walls are pivotably connected with a swivel joint line there between. A locking means for the bottom and lid part is provided for releasably closing the container. To improve such a container in a way that the container can be used for consuming the food as long as possible directly from the container, and to also allow easy access to the food, even if it is already partly consumed, at least—one tearing line for dividing the container is formed perpendicular to the swivel joint line in the front walls, rear walls, and bottom and front walls of the bottom part and lid part. A two-dimensional blank for forming such a packaging container is also disclosed.

Abstract: A method and apparatus to implement an improved point of sale system. When a transaction takes place, the apparatus analyzes the incoming receipt printer stream and outputs a modified receipt printer stream which includes a QR code which encodes information (such as transaction number, items purchased, price, etc.) about the transaction. The information can be retrieved in numerous ways. For example, a smartphone can scan the QR code to determine the information. Alternatively, the information can be uploaded to a remote server and a smartphone application an use the QR code to determine a code that can be used to retrieve the information from the remote server.

Abstract: Systems and methods for printing tickets are provided. In some embodiments, the printed ticket is a lottery ticket. According to a particular system provided in the present disclosure, the system comprises a server configured to manage the printing of tickets and advertisements. The system also comprises a ticket printing device operating in a predetermined location, the ticket printing device configured to print an advertisement on a ticket. A network is configured to enable communication between the server and the ticket printing device. The ticket printing device is configured to print the advertisement based at least on time parameters, the time parameters including at least a time period when an advertiser intends for the advertisement to be printed.

Abstract: The present application relates to a near field communications (NFC) reader which includes an amplifier that drives an antenna. Capacitors of fixed value are connected in series between differential outputs of the amplifier and inputs of the antenna and form a series resonant circuit with the impedance of the antenna. Variable capacitances are provided in series with the fixed value capacitors, and the capacitance of these variable capacitances can be adjusted to compensate for manufacturing tolerances in the fixed value capacitors which cause a frequency offset between a desired resonant frequency of the series resonant circuit its actual resonant frequency, and to compensate for changes in the input impedance of the antenna that occur as the distance between the antenna of the reader and an antenna of an NFC tag changes.

Abstract: MICR documents are read and sorted to a destination pocket for processing subject to a determination that an exception does not prevent the routing of the document. In example embodiments, for example, an error does not prevent the routing of the document if it is not related to the routing/transit field. In the case of digit errors, an optical character recognition (OCR) process is performed on the stored, electronic image of the document to correct digit errors in the stored data read from the documents. If a determination is made that correction or other exception processing cannot be handled through the OCR process, the image and corresponding MICR data is displayed on a user terminal, for manual verification or correction by reference to an image of the document, rather than the document itself.

The first and second antennas are respectively connected to the drive member and the radio frequency identification chip. The information can be independently displayed on the smart card to ensure confidence of the data. Moreover, the smart card can be more conveniently used.

Abstract: A method of forming a card having a magnetic strip is disclosed and includes advancing a planar card member along a predetermined path of travel. The card member has opposing surfaces. A longitudinal strip of slurry comprising magnetically conductive particles is applied onto a surface of the card member. The magnetically conductive particles are magnetically aligned. The longitudinal strip of magnetically conductive particles are radiation cured to form the magnetic strip on the surface of the card member.

Abstract: A negotiable instrument such as a check includes a unique microprint identifier that allows for authentication while preventing unauthorized reproduction and alternation. A printing system generates the identifier after receiving a customer order for printing a plurality of negotiable instruments, to allow inclusion of information that is specific to the customer order and/or the printing process. In various embodiments, the identifier is unique to each or each subset of the plurality of negotiable instruments and facilitates authentication of each of the negotiable instruments when needed.

Abstract: Systems and methods for the automated generation of QR codes with embedded images therein are provided. The QR code has an active, machine-readable portion and a background portion. An example system comprises an image identification module to identify a human-readable image. A primitive creation module generates a primitive QR code. The primitive QR code comprises a machine-readable QR code having the image embedded in the QR code. An overlay interface module generates an intermediate QR code by modifying the active portion of the QR code using a first modification and modifying the background portion using a second modification.

Abstract: Disclosed are systems and apparatus adapted to control a temperature of a process fluid in an instrument. In one aspect, the systems and apparatus are adapted to control fluid temperature provided to a feed tank. The feed tank may feed a metering system and metering line of an instrument such as a clinical analyzer. The fluid temperature control system includes a process fluid inflow, a process fluid outflow, a first fluid path fluidly coupled to the process fluid inflow and outflow, and at least one heat exchanger thermally coupled to the first fluid path, wherein the heat exchanger is adapted to extract heat for at least one heat-generating component of the instrument. Controlling a temperature of the process fluid at the feed tank improves metering accuracy. Methods of operating the system are provided, as are other aspects.

Abstract: “Flairosol” dispensing devices are presented. They utilize a combination of Flair® technology, precompression valves and aerosol like pressurization of the dispensed liquid. An exemplary device has a main body comprising a pressure chamber, the latter being provided with a pressure piston and a pressure spring, a piston and a piston chamber which draws liquid from a container, and fills the pressure chamber with that liquid as a user operates a trigger in various compression and release strokes. The piston chamber has both an inlet valve and an outlet valve, which serve to prevent backflow. A dome valve can be provided near the outlet channel at the top of the dispensing head, such that once its pressure is exceeded by the liquid, it opens and allows for a spray. Alternatively, in an activated embodiment, the dome valve is locked unless opened by a user.

Abstract: A common rail fuel injector includes a needle valve member that moves to open and close nozzle outlets for a fuel injection event responsive to pressure in a needle control chamber. Between injection events, the needle control chamber is fluidly connected to the fuel inlet by a first pathway that includes a Z orifice, and fluidly connected to the fuel inlet by a second pathway that includes an F orifice, an intermediate chamber and an A orifice. During an injection event, the needle control chamber is fluidly connected to a drain outlet by a third pathway that includes the A orifice, the intermediate chamber an E orifice and a buffer chamber, which may assist in avoiding cavitation erosion in a sensitive area associated with a flat control valve seat. Different performance characteristics are achieved by adjusting the sizes of the respective of F, A, Z and E orifices.

Abstract: A tanker vehicle for distributing liquid on a surface includes a chassis that supports a tank for holding the liquid. A fluid pump discharges the liquid from the tank and is driven by a hydraulic motor. A hydraulic system delivers hydraulic fluid to the motor through a supply line and returns the fluid to a tank through a return line. A bypass circuit is disposed between the supply line and the return line, bypassing the motor. The bypass circuit includes a system for providing a combination soft start and soft stop of the hydraulic motor that is configured to enable hydraulic fluid to flow from the supply line through the bypass circuit to the return line at a start of the hydraulic system and to flow from the return line through the bypass circuit to the supply line at a shutdown of the hydraulic system.

Abstract: Scent releasing articles and methods for producing the same are provided. In one embodiment, a method includes absorbing a first amount of fragrant oil with a polymer material and positioning the polymer material between opposing layers of mesh material each defining a plurality of interstitial openings to form a composite structure. The composite structure is then heated and pressed to fill at least a portion of the interstitial openings of the opposing layers of mesh material with a portion of the polymer material. In one form, the method further includes contacting the composite structure with a second amount of fragrant oil. In another embodiment, the polymer material is positioned between a mesh material defining a plurality of interstitial openings and an oil impermeable barrier material, which can optionally also include a mesh layer. Other embodiments include unique methods, systems, kits, assemblies, equipment, and/or apparatus which involve scent releasing articles.

The structure plate is installed on a side of the driving element, and the structure plate is substantially in a circular disc shape and has a plurality of through holes, and at least one rib is formed between adjacent through holes to define a water guide passage. Abstract: A nozzle arrangement is disclosed herein for use with a supersonic jet engine that is configured to produce a plume of exhaust gases. The nozzle arrangement includes, but is not limited to, a nozzle having a trailing edge and a plug body partially positioned within the nozzle. The plug body has an expansion surface and a compression surface downstream of the expansion surface. A protruding portion of the plug body extends downstream of the trailing edge for a length greater than a conventional plug body length. The plug body is configured to shape the exhaust gases to flow substantially parallel to a free stream of air flowing off of the trailing edge of the nozzle and to cause the plume of exhaust gases to isentropically turn the free stream of air to move in a direction parallel to a longitudinal axis of the plug body.

The assembly may include a robotic arm having a remote end region and a coating head mounted on the remote end region. One or more second orifices are positioned in a pattern beyond the periphery of the coating delivery region, and a fluid supply is connected to the one or more second orifices. Fluid emitted from the one or more second orifices forms a fluid curtain that at least partially encircles the coating delivery region, thereby minimizing overspray emerging therefrom. The present invention also discloses a vehicle spray painting system and a method of spray painting a vehicle.
