  • Patent number: 8479317
Abstract: The preferred brace resides invisibly beneath and behind the user's shirt collar when not in use. When desired, the user can flip up his or her collar and an appendage from the brace, and thereby hold the shirt collar up. The brace includes an envelope-shaped member that attaches either permanently or detachably to the collar band of the user's shirt. The envelope forms an internal chamber between a pair of opposing wall members that are made from resilient material, such as plastic or the like. The base envelope is defined by an aperture formed therein, and through which protrudes a brace tab that is operable between a down position and an up position. In the up position, the brace tab will prop the users shirt collar flap up so as to cover the back of the user's neck.

  • Patent number: 8479319
Abstract: A head-covering apparatus is disclosed, which extends over the top of a human head and down its sides and toward the back of the neck. The apparatus has a forward extending portion with two pocket-style openings, the first pocket for receiving a flexible material that makes up the head-covering portion of the apparatus, and the second pocket for receiving the visor or bill of a baseball-style hat. The apparatus can be affixed to the visor/bill of a baseball-style hat and used in two different configurations: in the first configuration, the invention is “unfurled” so that its flexible material covers the human head and portions of the baseball hat; in the second configuration, the invention is compacted such that its flexible material is rolled or folded into a small compacted size, and then placed into the second pocket of the forward extending portion.

  • Patent number: 8479323
Abstract: A mounting mechanism for toilet seats is provided which includes an easy accessible pull handle, connected to a mechanism associated with the seat that holds the seat in a vertical rest position. The handle is the only part that needs to be maneuvered by the toilet user when the user desires that the seat be in horizontal position. After using the seat in such horizontal position, the provided mechanism automatically moves the seat back up into the vertical rest position. This mechanism eliminates handling of potentially unsanitary toilet seats with hands. Thus, the handle is the only part which the person using the toilet is touching. Since the handle is positioned away from the seat and outside of the area where typically splashing occurs, an utmost sanitary and hygienic state is accomplished by the current invention.

  • Patent number: 8479324
Abstract: The present invention discloses a urinal with a conductivity sensor, which includes the conductivity sensor arranged at the location where a reservoir of the urinal is curved and adapted to detect urine, a control unit (MCU), a power battery, and an electromagnetic valve adapted to control a discharge of water, wherein the conductivity sensor is adapted to detect a conductivity to determine whether urine is present. After the conductivity sensor detects presence of urine, the control unit opens the electromagnetic valve. The conductivity sensor includes electrodes dipped inside the location where the reservoir is curved to contact urine. The conductivity sensor further includes an anti-polarization-of-electrode circuit based upon the principle of an alternating power supply. Thus, the sensor can achieve more reliable sensing and a longer lifetime.
