Abstract: A protective case for a mobile device is provided, which includes a backing and a sidewall section, where the sidewall section has four sides and is coupled to the backing such that a cavity is formed when the backing and the sidewall section are attached. The protective case also includes a geometry seal located inside of the cavity, where the geometry seal is configured to form a lower waterproof seal with the sidewall section and the backing. Furthermore, the protective case also includes a top section, which forms an upper waterproof seal with the sidewall section and the geometry seal, thereby allowing the protective case to provide a waterproof seal around the mobile device.

Abstract: A method of making a packaged antimicrobial suture. The method includes the steps of providing a containment compartment molded from a polymeric resin comprising a polymeric material and an antimicrobial agent, positioning a suture within the containment compartment, the suture comprising one or more surfaces; covering the containment compartment having the suture in an outer package cover having an inner surface, and subjecting the outer package, the containment compartment and the suture to time, temperature and pressure conditions sufficient to vapor transfer an effective amount of the antimicrobial agent from the containment compartment to the suture, while retaining an effective amount of the antimicrobial agent on the containment compartment, thereby substantially inhibiting bacterial colonization on the suture and the containment compartment. A packaged antimicrobial suture is also provided.

Abstract: A method of making a packaged antimicrobial suture comprising the steps of providing a containment compartment that is substantially free of an antimicrobial agent; positioning a suture within the containment compartment, said suture comprising one or more surfaces having an antimicrobial agent disposed thereon, said antimicrobial agent being selected from the group consisting of halogenated hydroxyl ethers, acyloxydiphenyl ethers, and combinations thereof; placing the containment compartment having the suture in an outer package; and subjecting the outer package, the containment compartment and the suture to time, temperature and pressure conditions sufficient to transfer an effective amount of the antimicrobial agent from the suture to the containment compartment, while retaining an effective amount of said antimicrobial agent on the suture, thereby substantially inhibiting bacterial colonization on the suture and the containment compartment.

Abstract: In a plastic closure (1), preferably configured as a screw cap, a capsule having a chamber (3) is formed with a capsule wall (2), wherein said capsule is closed both by means of a flexible membrane (6) and by means of a film (4) which seals the chamber (3). An active ingredient B to be dispensed is accommodated in the chamber (3). The sealing film (4) can be destroyed or pushed away by means of a piercing member (7). The piercing member (7) is configured to be replaceable. As a result the plastic closure (1) itself can be produced as standard, and the piercing member (7) can be produced customer-specifically for the respective application. The connection between the piercing member (7) and the convex membrane (6) preferably takes place by means of a coupling part (8) which is formed on the lower face of the convex membrane and on which the piercing member (7) having a cup-shaped coupling attachment receptacle (74) can be fitted.

Abstract: A storage box for a garment such as a graduation gown or keepsake item or other item requiring safe and long-lasting storage is fabricated in one rectangular piece. The storage box in its expanded state may be shipped as a flat rectangular piece approximately 20-40 centimeters wide by 60 to 100 centimeters long. Triangular folding corners join first and second collapsible sides respectively to a binding panel and to an inner folding side panel. An outer folding side panel locks the triangular folding corners joining the respective collapsible side panels with the inner folding side panel to form an inner compartment for receiving a garment for storage. Magnets may be embedded in a magnetic closure panel and at least one folding side panel of corresponding size, shape and location to lock the storage box.

Abstract: A package for holding a plurality of jewel cases for optical discs is provided, comprising a shell member having a first compartment and a second compartment, a cover sealably attachable to the shell member, and one or more mask areas on the shell member. Each of the mask areas are sized and positioned to obscure bar code indicia on the individual jewel cases contained within the shell member. In a preferred embodiment, the package is transparent, and it may contain a CD jewel case and a DVD jewel case. A third compartment contains an informational insert with a bar code or other point-of-sale indicia so that the package can be sold as a single unit.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a package for an instrument string. The package of the present invention can solve the problems caused by a conventional packing method wherein an instrument string is wound while twisting the wound portions, and an end of the instrument string is inserted between the twisted portions. Further, the instrument string can be easily fastened to the package merely by inserting the string between the base plate and fasteners provided on the base plate before it is packed into a packing bag. Thus, the present invention makes the work of packing the instrument string easy. The package includes the base plate, and a fastening unit which includes at least two fasteners provided on the base plate to receive the instrument string. The instrument string that is in a wound state is inserted between the base plate and the fasteners and fastened to the base plate.

Abstract: A device for holding bath toys is provided that includes a flexible receptacle having a back panel and a front panel adjoined by opposing sides and a bottom of the receptacle. At least a portion of the bottom of the receptacle is formed of a mesh material. The top portion of the back panel and an upper edge of the front panel define an open end of the receptacle. The device can be attached to a bathroom wall, for example by using at least two posts which extend through a respective opening in the receptacle and at least two caps, each cap defining a bore for receiving the post and for secure attachment to the post.

Abstract: Disclosed is a fastening system that is adapted for securing a sheathing board to an associated framing member. The system includes a feedband for retaining a series of fasteners and a powered drill for sequentially driving the fasteners. The feedband is made from a membrane of a polymeric compound. As the fastener is driven into the sheathing board, a portion of the membrane tears away from the surrounding feedband and becomes seated beneath the fastener. This acts to seal the penetration point and prevent water intrusion and otherwise prevents deterioration of the sheathing board.

The pair of side fixing portions include overlapping portions and connect portions. Abstract: A system is disclosed for minimizing damage to a compact light assembly having a battery, a light and an on-off switch. An outer package snugly holds an inner package formed with a series of spaced-apart slots. A light assembly is snugly frictionally held in each slot to protect the light assembly from damage due to shipping and/or rough handling. The packaging system also prevents the unintended activation of the on-off switch due to rough handling.

The system leverages light-weight flexible refill pouches with re-sealable closures that are securely installed in re-usable carafes in the home. Single-use packaging is reduced since light-weight flexibles are used as distribution and retail packaging, and a durable carafe is used repeatedly in the home.

The pronged key may be formed from a plastic material and configured such that it plastically deforms but remains attached to the key when and predetermined force is applied to the key to pull the key from a misaligned position with respect to the key hole.

Abstract: The invention relates to polymer-coated oven board and a closed oxygen impermeable food package formed from it. According to the invention, the coating on the board (1) contains an oxygen barrier layer (7) of polyamide (PA) and a surface layer (8) of polyethylene terephlatae (PET) adhered to it without a binding agent layer between them. The polymer layers (7, 8) have been produced by co-extrusion so that the polyamide layer (7) adheres directly to the board in extrusion. In a closed package according to the invention, the superimposed polyamide and PET layers (7, 8) are located inside the board layer, and on the outer surface of the package there may be a PET layer (9). The package is sealed by heat sealing the PET layers. Polyamide has been selected so that it withstands heat sealing and the heating of the package in an oven.

The blister card or strip includes a formable, pliable sheet material, into which one or more individual cavities or blisters are formed. The separated cavities are loaded with product and sealed with one or more layers of puncturable or tearable sheet material, such as aluminum foil. The blister card or strip contains a plastic rivet assembly that forms an interference mechanism. The rivet is trapped by an internally formed panel and stopped by a catch flap included in the outer package.

Abstract: A multi-day pill container comprising a plurality of pill holding cases, each pill holding case having a top portion, an interior chamber, and an exterior surface. The top portion of each pill holding case is moveable between a first position closing access to the interior chamber and a second position providing access to that chamber. Each pill holding case has a first snap lock element on the exterior surface to removably fasten each pill holding case and a second snap lock element associated with a multiple pill case holder. Each pill holding case may include an attachment tab on the exterior surface adapted to removably attach the pill holding case to an item supported by a user of the pill holding case. In another embodiment, each pill holding case has mating snap lock elements that permit each pill holding case to be removably attached to another pill holding case.

When a gas-liquid-particle dispersion is introduced into a separation vessel, a baffle directs the rising bubbles toward the perimeter of the apparatus. At the liquid surface, bubbles with attached hydrophobic materials form a floating froth layer, which is directed toward a froth collection launder. Also disclosed is an improvement for froth flotation processes comprising using a vacuum to pull froth and/or collapsed froth into and through the froth collection launder and froth drain line.

The filter has a sump and a fluidized-bed filter therein and supports the filter upright. The filter has an upwardly expanding, hollow, conical filter body with filter media. A monitoring subsystem measures wastewater process parameters. Control devices receive control commands and, dependent upon the command received, alter parameters of the wastewater treatment subsystems.

Abstract: Systems for automated capture and recovery of oil from oil-contaminated water and solids are disclosed. In some embodiments, the systems include the following: a plurality of automated robotic oil recovery units; a plurality of deployable oil collection membranes positioned within each of the units, each of the membranes including an upper half including a material impermeable to both water and crude oil and a lower half including a semi-permeable hydrophilic membrane that is permeable to water but impermeable to crude oil; and a high pressure carbon dioxide oil solids separation unit for separating oil from oil-contaminated solids thereby producing substantially oil-free solids and an oil and carbon dioxide mixture; a solids separation unit for the separating substantially oil-free solids from the oil and carbon dioxide mixture via gravity separation; and an oil separation unit for separating oil from the oil and carbon dioxide mixture using a pressure swing.

Abstract: A drain assembly for providing a drain in a floor. The drain assembly includes a drain conduit, a strainer and an adaptor. The drain conduit has an inner surface that defines a fluid flow path and an outer surface. The strainer is disposed above the drain conduit and has openings in fluid communication with the fluid flow path of the drain conduit. The adaptor may be securable in the drain conduit and may be connected to the strainer. Prior to securing the adaptor in the drain conduit, a position of the adaptor in the drain conduit may be moveable to allow a top surface of the strainer to be substantially aligned with the floor. A method of assembly is also disclosed.

Abstract: A welded wire mesh is rolled into an elongated tubular wire frame, and sizing rings surround the tubular wire frame to maintain the tubular frame with a predetermined diameter. The wire frame is partially covered with a sediment filter fabric attached by wire clips, and an end portion of the tubular frame is inserted into an inlet portion of an installed storm water pipe. A collar member includes a wire collar frame secured to the tubular wire frame and is covered by a flexible filter material to filter storm water flowing between the tubular frame and the water pipe and to form a stop which prevents the tubular frame from moving further into the pipe. A top portion of the tubular wire frame is uncovered by filter fabric to define an overflow opening for storm water with very light sediment to flow into the storm water pipe.

Abstract: A strainer for a rainwater catchment system includes a container having a top end and a lid sized to cover the top end. The lid has an opening formed therein defined by an edge. The strainer further comprises an upper flange extending outwardly, a vertical side wall extending downwardly from the upper flange, and a bottom rim connected to the side wall, with the bottom rim extending inwardly. A filter removably connects to the bottom rim, with the filter including a lower reinforcing web, an upper retainer, and a mesh held between the lower reinforcing web and the upper retainer, so that the filter is adapted to allow rainwater to pass therethrough while filtering debris therefrom.

Abstract: A separator is disclosed that may be used to separate oil from water in situ in the ocean or other water body. The difference in density between oil and water causes them to separate between two limbs of the apparatus, and to exit from different ports at different heights. The input may contain oil : water in essentially any ratio. The apparatus may be placed within a boat or ship, or it may be mounted on pontoons or other floatation gear and towed behind a boat or ship.

Abstract: A system for producing and supplying a coolant to a filtration sub-system, and for reconditioning and recombining a return flow of used coolant. A main reservoir is in two way communication with the filtration sub-system via a clean coolant outlet and a dirty coolant return. An inlet feeds an untreated water supply to a de-ionization canister. A mixing valve in communication with the inlet recombines a remaining untreated portion of the water supply with the de-ionized portion. A mixing pump intermixes the water supply with a chemical concentrate to produce a coolant delivered to a main reservoir. A volume of coolant is drawn through an outlet from the reservoir and communicates the coolant to a particle filter, a chiller, and prior to outputting to the filtration sub-systems. The used return coolant is filtered and reintroduced to the main reservoir.
