Abstract: A thermoelectric device (the TED) of the present invention is used as a generator application and a heat pump application. The TED transfers heat from one side of the device to the other side from cold to hot, with consumption of electrical energy. In a functioning mode of the TED, direct current runs through the TED and heat is moved from one side of the TED to another side of the TED, wherein the TED is used either for heating or for cooling applications, generation of electricity and/or transfer of heat in heating and refrigerating applications.

Abstract: A solid state energy generator and storage device, comprising two layers, in contact with each other, of dissimilar materials in terms of electron density and configuration, sandwiched between an anode and a cathode. One of the layers is a stabilized mixture of carbon and an ionic material (carbon matrix) and the other layer is a stabilized manganese oxide mixed with an ionic material (oxide matrix). The built-in potential of the device is determined mathematically by integrating the electrostatic forces across the barrier and will rise or fall in direct proportion to the device temperature (in Kelvin). In addition the device can be charged and thus function as a charge storage device, with the rated voltage varying according to the temperature of the device. When a load is attached across the terminals of the device a current flows.

Abstract: The invention relates to a photovoltaic element including an optically functional surface layer for improving a conversion of the incident light. The functioning of the layer involves absorbing incident sunlight having a low wavelength and emitting it again as light radiation having a higher wavelength, so that this light spectrum becomes usable for solar cells. In order to solve the currently unsolved problem of embedding such a layer into a thin-film solar cell with a substrate arranged on the front side, while ensuring high weathering resistance, it is proposed to arrange the optical functional layer in an additional encapsulation element on the front side and thus to construct the photovoltaic element as a double- or multiple composite assembly.

Abstract: A device includes a filling valve, a sleeve, an absorbing member, and a gas control unit. The filling valve can be engaged for filling liquid gas. The sleeve includes a fluid passing section that enables liquid gas outside to flow therein. The absorbing member can absorb liquid gas and is disposed in the sleeve. The gas control unit includes a main body, a gas inlet and flow rate adjusting mechanism, and a gas outlet mechanism. The gas inlet and flow rate adjusting mechanism includes an adjustably movable valve and a first air seal. The first air seal is mounted between the adjustably movable valve and the main body to prevent liquid gas from passing therebetween. The adjustably movable valve is in fluid communication with the gas outlet mechanism such that vaporized gas emitted from the absorbing member is discharged from the device from the gas outlet mechanism.

Abstract: A sewage tank for use with a pump such as a grinder pump to convey sewage. The sewage tank includes a container having an upper portion and a lower tapering portion defining a chamber for containing the pump. The lower tapering portion has a reduced size compared to the upper portion. The upper portion and the lower portion may include a plurality of intersecting vertical ribs and horizontal ribs defining a plurality of recessed pockets. The lower portion of the sewage tank may also include an outwardly-extending flange sufficiently sized so that soil may be backfilled around the bottom of the tank to prevent the tank from floating upward out of the ground due to its buoyancy under high ground water conditions. A sewage tank having a stepped flange is also disclosed.

Abstract: Disclosed is a work vehicle having a hydraulic apparatus which can reliably prevent erroneous operation of the valve of the hydraulic apparatus even when the operating lever is moved inadvertently. With this hydraulic apparatus, with operations of a single operating lever in two directions, two valves are operated respectively. Two valve operating links for operating the two valves respectively are pivotally supported to a support shaft provided to a pair of frame plates and a lock pin is provided to the frame plates. The two valve operating links form pin holes. When the two valves are at the neutral positions, the lock pin is inserted into the pin holes with a locking operation of a lock operating tool, thus fixing the valve operating links and locking the valves.

Abstract: A wrappable, end fray resistant textile sleeve for protecting elongate members and method of construction thereof is provided. The sleeve includes an elongate wall having warp yarns extending generally parallel to a longitudinal central axis of the sleeve and fill yarns extending circumferentially about the sleeve. The warp yarns and the fill yarns are woven in an overlying and underlying weave pattern with one another. The warp yarns are arranged in discrete groups alternating about a circumference of the wall with adjacent groups having a different number of the warp yarns. As such, the wall is provided with groups of increased numbers of warp yarns that provide the sleeve with enhanced rigidity and abrasion resistance, while also being provided with groups of decreased numbers of warp yarns that provide the sleeve with enhanced flexibility along the longitudinal central axis.
