Abstract: Systems and methods for buoyancy compensation are provided. Both active and passive buoyancy compensation can be provided using a compressible mixture made of a liquid along with a hydrophopic material such as a powder, electrospun fiber, or foam. The compressible fluid compresses as pressure is applied or expands as pressure is released thereby substantially maintaining an overall neutral buoyancy for a vessel. This allows the vessel to ascend and descend to water depths with minimal active buoyancy change. As a result, the energy usage and the reliance on higher pressure air and oils can be minimized.

The liquid growth medium can include a carbon source, a diamond growth catalyst such as a diamond catalyst metal-rare earth element alloy or nanocatalyst, and a dissociated hydrogen of a hydrogen source. The carbon source provides carbon atoms for growing diamond and can include a diamond seed material for diamond growth. The molten liquid phase provides a diamond growth catalyst which allows the carbon to form diamond at the temperature and low pressure conditions discussed. Furthermore, the dissociated hydrogen acts as a concentrator for assembling carbon atoms at a relatively high concentration which mimicks, in some respects, diamond growth under more conventional high pressure processes without the high pressure.

In large area substrate processing chambers, the shadow frame may comprise multiple pieces. The individual pieces may be coupled together, but spaced slightly apart by a gap to permit thermal expansion. Ceramic inserts are positioned on the substrate support so that when a shadow frame is positioned adjacent thereto, the ceramic inserts are located adjacent the gaps in the shadow frame. The ceramic inserts adjacent the gap prevent and/or reduce the arcing because the gaps are located over electrically insulating material rather than electrically conductive material.

Attached to the cuff are a few feet of leash material that freely runs through an O-ring and ends in a handle. Attached to the O-ring are another few feet of leash ending with a clip that can go to a dog collar. When the dog pulls, the user pulls the handle. The resulting force goes through the O-ring, which acts as a pulley and on to the arm cuff and back of the arm, utilizing stronger shoulder and back muscles. Therefore the user is able to pull back with a lot more force than is obtainable with a typical leash.

Abstract: The present invention is a rotary internal combustion engine, comprising an outer stator shell which forms several equal-sized stator chambers and an oscillating axle which forms several pistons corresponding to the stator chambers and separating each stator chamber into two sealed combustion chambers. When operating, the combustions of the combustion chambers cause the oscillating axle to oscillate. The oscillating motion is then translated to a mono-directional rotary motion, which provides the power output.

Abstract: A rotary engine has a rotor that has rockers pivoting in chambers. As each rocker pivots, it rotates an outer crankshaft. Each outer crankshaft has a spur gear that engages a stationary ring gear. Spur gear rotation causes the gears and the outer crankshafts to revolve around the ring gear. This cause the rotor to rotate. As the rotor rotates, successive chambers are positioned at the intake, compression, ignition, and exhaust positions. Igniting the fuel in the ignition position pushes the rocker inward to rotate the outer crankshaft associated with that rocker to cause the rotor to rotate.

Abstract: An operator-controllable valve opens or closes an idle air bypass passage in a motorcycle, allowing an operator astride the motorcycle to set an idle position manually. A handle permits a first adjustment by the operator without use of a screwdriver or other hand tool. An additional interface enables a wider range of adjustment using a hand tool. Both interfaces vary depth of an air mixture screw of the valve within an idle air bypass passage of a throttle body. Dual cylindrical members of the valve rotate relative to one another and relative to a base of the valve, each cylindrical member driven by one of the interfaces. Locking the cylindrical members together such that both rotate in tandem upon the operator moving the handle is accomplished by either tightening the handle or tightening a nut coupling the handle to the valve. A handlebar adjustment lever may couple with the handle.
