Publication number: 20130285784Abstract: An inductor includes an inductor body having a top surface and a first and second opposite end surfaces. There is a void through the inductor body between the first and second opposite end surfaces. A thermally stable resistive element positioned through the void and turned toward the top surface to forms surface mount terminals which can be used for Kelvin type sensing. Where the inductor body is formed of a ferrite, the inductor body includes a slot. The resistive element may be formed of a punched resistive strip and provide for a partial turn or multiple turns. The inductor may be formed of a distributed gap magnetic material formed around the resistive element. A method for manufacturing the inductor includes positioning an inductor body around a thermally stable resistive element such that terminals of the thermally stable resistive element extend from the inductor body.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 15, 2013Publication date: October 31, 2013Inventors: Thomas T. Publication number: 20130285786Abstract: A current transformer supplying a power for an electronic controller comprises two independent core magnetic circuits, wherein a first core magnetic circuit is a closed loop formed by connecting a U-shaped core and a linear core, a primary conductor extends through the closed loop, and a secondary winding for power supply is wound on the linear core; a second core magnetic circuit having an opening shape is disposed in parallel to the linear core of the first core magnetic circuit, and the open end of the second core magnetic circuit is coupled to the first core magnetic circuit through air gaps. The area of the cross section of the linear core is less than that of the cross section of the U-shaped core, so that the linear core can be magnetically saturated earlier than the U-shaped core. The centerline length of the U-shaped core is 1.5 to 4 times of that of the linear core.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 15, 2011Publication date: October 31, 2013Inventors: Yinglong Hu, Zeliang Xu

Publication number: 20130285789Abstract: A variable speed toggle switch that allows a user to reverse a rotational direction of a motor and supply variable amounts of power to a motor, such as in a power tool, for example, a power drill. A trigger can include a gear segment that meshingly engages a gear on a potentiometer to electrically communicate the actuation direction and actuation amount of the trigger to a microprocessor. The microprocessor can then signal to an H-bridge, or to a series of transistors, the actuation direction and actuation amount of the trigger. A motor or other device can be powered by a power source in an amount corresponding to the actuation amount, and in a direction corresponding to the actuation direction of the trigger.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 20, 2013Publication date: October 31, 2013Inventors: Daniel Pusateri, Kenneth C.
