  • Patent number: 8619094
Abstract: Morphological anti-aliasing (MLAA) of a re-projection of a two-dimensional image can be implemented in a way that produces a better result while using fewer processor resources. One or more discontinuities between each neighboring pixel of the two-dimensional image are determined. One or more pre-defined patterns formed by the one or more discontinuities are identified. A blend amount is calculated for each pixel neighboring the identified pre-defined patterns. A re-projection is applied to the two-dimensional image and to the blend amount for each pixel thereby generating re-projected blend amounts. The neighboring pixels of the re-projection are then blended according to the re-projected blend amounts.

  • Patent number: 8619095
Abstract: Some embodiments of the inventive subject matter are directed to determining a first setting(s) for presentation of content on a display of a mobile device at a distance from a user. The first setting(s) are based on analysis of characteristics associated with the mobile device. The characteristics are related to a user, an environment external to the mobile device, and content presented via the mobile device. Some embodiments are further directed to detecting a change in one or more of the characteristics in response to presentation of the content on the mobile device. The change is an event that indicates that the first setting(s) are non-optimal for presentation of the content at the distance. Some embodiments are further directed to determining second settings for presentation of content at the distance from the user based on the change in the one or more characteristics.

  • Patent number: 8619096
Abstract: Evaluating a delivered video using a marker. A marker can be generated to be superimposed and displayed on an evaluation range from coordinate values specifying the evaluation range input to evaluate the video and that adds the marker to the video and causing the video with the marker to be deliver. An image can be generated in the evaluation range at predetermined intervals starting from the input time of the coordinate values. A similarity between two images arranged in the order of time from the input time by comparing the two images can be calculated, and a determination can be made whether the similarity is within an allowable range. The time of one of the two images generated as an extinction time of the displayed marker can be selected when the similarity is determined to be not within the allowable range.

  • Patent number: 8619098
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for generating context-sensitive, co-salient thumbnails are described. Co-salient thumbnails may effectively convey more useful information than conventional thumbnails while using the same or similar display space. As such, co-salient thumbnails may make it easier for a user to locate a particular image in a large collection of similar images. In some embodiments, for each of a plurality of patches in a first image, an illustrative method may identify a corresponding similar patch in a second image based on one or more similarity measures. The method may then determine a distance from each of the plurality of patches to its corresponding similar patch and select a crop in the first image relative to the second image based on the determined distance. Optionally, the method may repeat these operations in the opposite direction to select a crop in the second image relative to the first image.

  • Patent number: 8619103
Abstract: Compensation for chromaticity shift of an electroluminescent (EL) emitter having a luminance and a chromaticity that both correspond to current density is performed. Different black, first and second current densities are selected based on a received designated luminance and a selected chromaticity, each current density corresponding to emitted light colorimetrically distinct from the light emitted at the other two current densities. Respective percentages of a selected emission time are calculated for each current density to produce the designated luminance and selected chromaticity. The current densities are provided to the EL emitter for the calculated respective percentages of the emission time so that the integrated light output of the EL emitter during the selected emission time is colorimetrically indistinct from the designated luminance and selected chromaticity.

The systems and methods may involve image sensing, capture, processing, rendering and/or generating images. For example, one embodiment may provide an imaging system, including: a first image sensor configured to obtain luminance data of a scene; a second image sensor configured to obtain chrominance data of the scene; a third image sensor configured to obtain three-dimensional data of the scene; and an image processor configured to receive the luminance, chrominance and three-dimensional data and to generate a composite image corresponding to the scene from that data.
