Abstract: A rim rotor braking system has an integrally formed rotor portion that is orientated at 90 degree to the rim. The rotor is compressed between calipers in a braking system that is attached to a portion of a vehicle such as a bicycle fork. The rotor's orientation maximizes heat transfer to the air and allows the braking system to efficiently stop the vehicle. The brake system may be mounted under the fork or adjacent to it. The rim may be made of aluminum, titanium, steel or any other suitable material. The braking mechanism may be mechanical, hydraulic or electric. In one embodiment, dual rotors are disposed on either side of the rim to provide extra braking power. In yet another embodiment, the rotor is replaceable.

Abstract: A brake device for a vehicle is provided in which when a slave cylinder generates a brake fluid pressure that is commensurate with the actual amount of operation of a brake pedal by a driver in a state in which a master cut valve is closed and a fluid path connecting a master cylinder to the slave cylinder is cut off, a wheel cylinder is actuated by the brake fluid pressure. Since deterioration determination means determines a leak in the downstream of the slave cylinder based on the actual amount of actuation of the slave cylinder detected by a slave cylinder stroke sensor and the actual brake fluid pressure generated by the slave cylinder and detected by a fluid pressure sensor, it is possible to rapidly determine a leak in the downstream of the slave cylinder.

Abstract: A brake device for a vehicle is provided in which when there is an abnormality in which a slave cylinder becomes incapable of being actuated, a wheel cylinder is actuated by means of a brake fluid pressure generated by a master cylinder, which is actuated by a brake pedal. Since idling detection means detects idling of a motor when the rotational speed of the motor is greater than a reference value that is set according to the stroke of the slave cylinder, it is possible to reliably and rapidly detect idling of the motor. When the idling of the motor is detected, since control means opens a master cut valve and the wheel cylinder is actuated by means of the brake fluid pressure generated by the master cylinder, the slave cylinder, which has become incapable of being actuated, can be backed up rapidly by the master cylinder.

The brake ECU of the vehicle brake device sets a reference servo pressure based on the operating amount of a brake pedal when the vehicle is stopped and sets a target servo pressure based on the reference servo pressure during one braking operation. Further, the brake ECU sets the reference servo pressure based on the operating amount of the brake pedal when the servo pressure calculated in response to the operating amount of the brake pedal exceeds the servo pressure change threshold value set with a deviation from the reference servo pressure calculated in response to the brake pedal operating amount.

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure are directed toward methods and apparatus that include a lead frame with a fixed external pin pitch. A differential signal path is provided that is characterized by bond-pad pitch range, wire length and wire diameter. The differential signal path carries signals in a frequency range between 5 GHz and 16.1 GHz with less than about 25 dB differential return loss (DDRL). Further, the signals are processed at a signal-processing node that is electrically coupled to the differential signal path by using the differential signal path to carry signals in a frequency range between 5 GHz and about 16.1 GHz.

Abstract: A piezoelectric transformer includes capacitance elements, an inductance element, a resistance, and an ideal transformer. A first resonance circuit includes the piezoelectric transformer, the capacitance of a capacitance element of a coupling electrode of a power receiving apparatus, and the capacitance of a capacitance element of a coupling electrode of a power transmitting apparatus. On the other hand, a second resonance circuit includes an equivalent output capacitance of the piezoelectric transformer and an inductance element. The frequency of a high-frequency high voltage that is generated by a high-frequency high-voltage generating circuit is set to a value between two resonance frequencies generated by a complex resonance of the first resonance circuit and the second resonance circuit.

Abstract: An electromagnetic field shielding device not only protects the lap of the user, but also their hands and face. The EMF shield has an EMF shield for the bottom of the laptop as well as a flexible, see-through, type-through EMF shield that extends over the screen and keyboard. The EMF shield of the present invention shields all areas of the laptop and protects the user from EMF radiation from laptops in the x, y and z axes, not merely a downward axis from the bottom of the laptop.
