Abstract: LNG, for use as a motor vehicle fuel, is stored in a manner that does not require massive tanks, eliminates evaporative loss and reduces refrigeration energy consumption. A Stirling cryocooler extends through a wall of a highly insulated, relatively low pressure container to its cold end located in the vapor phase above the liquid surface. The pressure or temperature of the LNG is sensed and applied to a feedback control that modulates the heat transfer rate of the Stirling cryocooler so that LNG vapor is liquefied at a rate to maintain a desired pressure and temperature within the container. Maintaining a superatmospheric pressure in the container reduces the energy consumption required for re-liquefaction of the LNG vapor. The apparatus is also usable for liquefaction of natural gas for refueling vehicles from the ubiquitous consumer level domestic gas distribution system.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a heat exchanger module with thermal management containing a titano-alumino-phosphate as adsorber, which displays a high hydrothermal stability and already desorbs the adsorbed water again under the action of low heat. By targeted action of temperature, the adsorbed water is condensed out, whereby heat energy is released. By means of the action of low heat, the condensed water can be adsorbed again as cold vapour on the adsorber, whereby heat energy is released. The heat exchanger module can be used to heat objects, appliances or rooms on the basis of the adsorption energy being released during the adsorption, as this is discharged and used further. In addition to heating, the cooling of rooms, objects and appliances is also possible, as the area surrounding the heat exchanger module is cooled due to a fall in the temperature in the heat exchanger module.

Abstract: A lock assembly for a container having an opening defined by a door jamb, a cargo door adapted to close the opening, a rod linearly moveable to engage the door jamb, and a latch mountable to the rod. The assembly includes a casing having an inclined opening and mounted to the cargo door parallel the rod. The casing includes a protrusion changeable between an extended and a retracted position. A latch receiving means has an inclined opening adapted to align with the inclined opening of the casing for accepting the latch therein. The latch receiving means is responsive to movement of the latch within the casing between a locked and an unlocked condition and engages the locking means when the latch receiving means is in the locked condition. The rod is moved by the latch to engage and disengage the door jamb.

Abstract: A refuse container lock having a latch that is mounted in a lock housing and includes a latch head and a latch tail, such that the latch head in a closed position grasps behind a hook of a counterlocking part and can be brought into a release position by tipping the lock housing from an upright position into a tipped position or by actuating a locking cylinder and by the action of a locking cam of the locking cylinder upon the latch head that is coupled to the latch tail held immovably in the upright position so as to pivot contrary to an elastic return force. For refinements that are advantageous to the user, it is proposed that the locking cylinder should be situated in the lock housing and that the locking cam should act on an actuation arm extending down from the latch head.

Abstract: A lock actuating device is presented for mounting to a door leaf of a door. The lock actuating device has a transceiver capable of interaction with a wireless key device by short-range wireless data communication. A controller of the lock actuating device is coupled to the transceiver and capable of generating a control signal. A lock actuator has an electric motor and is adapted for actuation of an internal lock mechanism of a lock inside the door leaf upon receipt of the control signal from the controller. A local battery power unit serves as a sole power source for powering the lock actuating device. The lock actuating device has a sleep mode, in which elements of the lock actuating device are inactive and consume negligible power, and an operational mode. The controller has a control input for receiving a wake-up control signal indicative of the presence of a user in a vicinity of the lock actuating device, and causing the lock actuating device to switch from sleep mode to operational mode.
