  • Patent number: 8662581
Abstract: The portable armrest for seating is removably attached to the lateral edge of the seating surface of an armless chair or the like. The device has a rigid upright with an arm support permanently and immovably affixed thereto, forming a symmetrical T-configuration. A clamp is removably attached to the lower end of the upright. The clamp is removably attached to the seating surface edge to secure the armrest removably thereto. Hand-manipulated fasteners are preferably used to secure the clamp to the seating surface, obviating need for tools. An accessory support flange extends from one side of the lower portion of the upright. An accessory (e.g., pencil box, tissue dispenser, etc.) may be secured to the upright by an elastic band, the bottom of the accessory resting upon the support flange. Optionally, a container having a wedge-shaped fitting extending therefrom may be secured within a complementary passage through the upright.

  • Patent number: 8662615
Abstract: A barcode printing method can easily and quickly find the location of a group of consecutive printing elements that can print a barcode correctly when the line print head has faulty printing elements. The printing device determines the shift range for the barcode printing position, aligns the center of the barcode print data with the center of the shift range, from this position alternately shifts the print data one printing element at a time left and right in the line direction, and finds a group of consecutive printing elements that can print the barcode correctly. A normal printing range can thus be found in a short time with the smallest shift compared with searching from the end of the shift range, and the overall efficiency of a barcode printing operation that executes repeatedly can be improved.

Abstract: A method of operating a printer enables the mass of the ink drops ejected by the printheads in the printer to maintained in an optimal range without measuring the drop mass being ejected by the inkjets in the printheads. After calibration of the printheads, the printheads are operated with electrical signals having different peak-to-peak voltages. The number of inoperable inkjets for each printhead is determined from image data of the ejected ink on the image receiving member and the number of inoperable inkjets for each printhead is compared to a predetermined threshold. The peak-to-peak voltage for the electrical signals used to operate a printhead is adjusted with reference to the number of inoperable inkjets and the predetermined threshold.

  • Patent number: 8662617
Abstract: A liquid ejection apparatus includes: a passage unit, a piezoelectric actuator, a drive signal generator, a driver, a voltage value changing unit, and an interval setting unit. The piezoelectric actuator applies energy to liquid in the passage unit. The drive signal generator generates a drive signal to be supplied to the piezoelectric actuator, based on a reference voltage value. The driver supplies the drive signal generated by the drive signal generator to the piezoelectric actuator. The voltage value changing unit changes the reference voltage value to a larger voltage value every time an accumulated time during which a voltage is applied between electrodes of the piezoelectric actuator satisfies a predetermined condition. The interval setting unit determines a new time interval to a next change of the reference voltage so that the new time interval is shorter than before, every time the reference voltage value is changed.

Abstract: A method of printing includes printing first and second patterns at first and second locations on first and second sides of a media using first and second printheads, respectively. First and second fiducial images including a fiducial origin are captured using first and second cameras, respectively. First and second pattern images of the first and second patterns are captured using the first and second cameras, respectively. The locations of the first and second patterns relative to the fiducial origin are determined using an image registration controller. A relative printed location of the first pattern and the second pattern is determined. A deviation is determined by comparing the determined relative location of the first and second printed patterns with an intended relative location of the first and second printed patterns.

  • Patent number: 8662627
Abstract: A linehead that is producing an artifact in the content printed on a print media is identified by capturing an image of the content as the print media is moving to obtain pixel data and averaging the pixel data to produce blur in a direction the print media is moving. A determination is made as to whether the averaged pixel data is associated with content printed by a first linehead in a printing module. If the averaged pixel data is not associated with the first linehead, the averaged pixel data from an image captured by a preceding linehead is subtracted from the averaged pixel data in the image to produce averaged pixel data that is associated with a single linehead. Derivative data of the averaged pixel data is then determined. A determination is made as to whether one or more peaks are present in the derivative data.
