Abstract: A method for operating a machine tool/work machine includes providing a machine tool/work tool comprising a stroke element, a connection arrangement comprising a traction/pressure element and at least one traction/pressure point, a detachable connection comprising a connection element, a compensation element or a unit which generate a pre-stress, a (cutting) impact dampening, and compensates for a weight of the stroke element in the connection arrangement. The drive device acts on a work piece to be machined via the connection arrangement with the traction/pressure element and the at least one traction/pressure point via the stroke element. A force is produced via the compensation element or a unit corresponding to a weight of the traction/pressure element, the force being initiated independently from a drive force for the stroke element, to generate a pre-stress, a (cutting) impact dampening and a compensation of the weight of the stroke element in the connection arrangement.

Abstract: A method for operating a machine tool includes determining and providing/storing energy for machining a work piece as available energy by considering a first value of the energy to be applied of at least one element of the machine tool to store energy. Available energy provided in a section or in a partial section of a motion sequence of a stroke element determined for machining the work piece is gathered. Part of the available energy of the energy to be applied for machining the work piece from an energy potential provided/stored in the machine tool is used. A second value for an effective required energy is formed via at least one energy-storing element. A control/regulation of different energy transfers or contents of individual drive components is influenced in an accelerating or decelerating manner during a sequence of the stroke element or during a path of a stroke to compensate for asymmetric loads.

Abstract: A wakesurfing boat and a hull for a wakesurfing boat. The hull includes a bottom having a preselected length extending from a bow to a stern. The bottom includes a central ridge and port and starboard ridges extending below respective port and starboard bulwarks to define a substantially M-shaped bottom with concave portions to port and starboard of the central ridge. Port and starboard sponsons extend below the port and starboard bulwarks proximate the stern. A trim wedge projects below the stern. Two rounded stern portions are provided proximate the stern. In a dynamic surfing mode, with selectively-fillable ballast tanks partially or fully flooded, water flowing through the port and starboard concave portions, combined with the ballast, increases resistance to the hull, resulting in a larger wake wave. Water passing around the structural features proximate the stern is directed toward a convergent zone in the wake, resulting in an improved wake wave shape.

Abstract: A wake tower for a powerboat for use in wakeboarding or other water sports is described. The wake tower can include base members attached to the powerboat and a U-shaped bar extending generally upwardly from the base members. The side bars can be tapered inward and can also be angled toward the bow of the powerboat. Support members can be positioned along the side bars to provide increased structural support to increase the maximum load of the wake tower and to increase the rigidity of the wake tower resulting in less shaking during use. A tow cross bar having a tow rope connector can be suspended generally between the side bars of the wake tower. The wake tower can be transitioned between an upright position and a lowered position.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for the growth of a crystalline solid by inching then cooling a crystallization material (2), in which the crystallization material (2) spread over a support is melted in the operating region (4) of a heat source. According to this process: outside of the operating region, the crystallization material (2) is spread over at least two areas of different compositions (31, 32, 33, 34, 33), and the crystallization material (2) being spread over a length greater than the length of the operating region (4), a movement of the operating region (4) relative to the crystallization material (2) is carried out so as to place successively in the operating region (4) then outside of the operating region, portions of the crystallization material of different compositions. This process is used to manufacture laser crystals having a controlled spatial distribution of doping.
