Abstract: An X-ray tube includes a radiopaque substrate including a window portion, an X-ray transmission window closing the window portion, an X-ray target provided at the window portion from an inner surface side of the substrate, a highly-evacuated container portion attached to the inner surface of the substrate, a cathode, a first control electrode and a second control electrode provided inside the container portion. A shielding electrode is provided at the inner surface of the substrate so as to surround the window portion. Electrons collide with the X-ray target to generate X-rays. Electrons reflected on the X-ray target between the shielding electrodes are absorbed by the shielding electrodes, so an inner surface of the container portion is not charged. The electron emission from the cathode is not affected by the reflected electrons, so a change in target current is small, and thus X-rays of substantially constant intensity can be radiated.

The user data symbols are represented in a digital bitwise form such that each symbol is presented as a plurality of bits and each bit is subject to a different probability of error. An error correction procedure is applied based on the different error probability that is associated with each bit in the plurality. The channel can be configured to support a mosaic tile structure, each tile containing a channel symbol such that a selected tile has a collective error probability that is different from other tiles. Customized coding can be applied to the tile structure to allocate a selected amount of error correction power to the selected tile based on an overall available correction power.

Abstract: A first computing device transfers first and second commitments to a second computing device. The first commitment is for private data and a first random number and the second commitment is for second and third random numbers. The method includes producing a result by evaluating a predicate and a first support function of a garbled circuit. The result includes a first part and a second part, referred to as the predicate result. The method includes transferring the result to the second computing device; receiving a second challenge from the second computing device; and producing a second response from a second support function using the second challenge. The method includes transferring the second response to the second computing device. The predicate result over the private data is true if a result of a check function is equal to a third commitment of the first part and the second response.

Abstract: Securely joining a secure wireless communications network is described, for example, where a printer or other device is securely added to a home wireless network. In various embodiments, a temporary wireless network is established between a new joiner device and a second wireless communications device which is already a member of a secure home wireless network. In an example, the temporary wireless network is set up using a secret key known to the new joiner device and the second wireless communications device by virtue of physical proximity. In various examples, the secure, temporary wireless network is used to transfer credentials of the secure home network to the new joiner device which then joins the home network. In an example the temporary wireless network is cancelled once the new joiner device becomes a member of the secure home (or other) wireless network.

Abstract: A method, device, and system for secure end-to-end audio recognition is disclosed. A client device launches an application that connects with a server. The client device and server exchange cryptographic keys and establish a secure connection and a shared cryptographic key. The server transmits an encrypted audio prompt to the client device. The client device decrypts the encrypted audio prompt and stores the decrypted audio prompt in secure memory inaccessible to the operating system using an audio engine of the client device. The audio engine then retrieves the audio and renders it for the user through the speakers of the client device. The client device captures the user's audio response with a microphone and stores the audio response in the secure memory. The stored audio response is encrypted and transmitted to the server.

Abstract: A method of restoring confidential information items of a first device to a second device by using a set of servers. The method generates a public and private key pair and ties the private key to the hash of executable code of the servers at the time of generating the public and private keys. The method receives the encrypted confidential information items in a secure object which is encrypted with a user-specific key and the public key. The method only provides the confidential information to the second device when the second device provides the same user-specific key as the key that encrypts the secure object and the hash of the executable code of the servers at the time of accessing the private key to decrypt the secure object matches the hash of the executable code running on the servers at the time of generating the private key.
