  • Patent number: 8693002
Abstract: A Fourier transform spectrometer (FTS) data acquisition system includes an FTS spectrometer that receives a spectral signal and a laser signal. The system further includes a wideband detector, which is in communication with the FTS spectrometer and receives the spectral signal and laser signal from the FTS spectrometer. The wideband detector produces a composite signal comprising the laser signal and the spectral signal. The system further comprises a converter in communication with the wideband detector to receive and digitize the composite signal. The system further includes a signal processing unit that receives the composite signal from the converter. The signal processing unit further filters the laser signal and the spectral signal from the composite signal and demodulates the laser signal, to produce velocity corrected spectral data.

  • Patent number: 8693004
Abstract: In an embodiment, a dual-etalon cavity-ring-down frequency-comb spectrometer system is described. A broad band light source is split into two beams. One beam travels through a first etalon and a sample under test, while the other beam travels through a second etalon, and the two beams are recombined onto a single detector. If the free spectral ranges (“FSR”) of the two etalons are not identical, the interference pattern at the detector will consist of a series of beat frequencies. By monitoring these beat frequencies, optical frequencies where light is absorbed may be determined.

  • Patent number: 8693005
Abstract: Problems To provide a method for evaluating characteristics of MZ interferometers in an optical modulator having a plurality of MZ interferometers. Means for Solving Problems When an optical modulator includes a plurality of MZ interferometers, the 0-degree component contains a signal derived from an MZ interferometer other than the MZ interferometers for evaluating the characteristic. For this, it is impossible to accurately evaluate the characteristic of the MZ interferometers. The present invention does not use the 0-degree component normally having the highest intensity. That is, the characteristic of the MZ interferometers are evaluated by using a side band intensity of the component other than the 0-degree component.

  • Patent number: 8693013
Abstract: This invention is directed at preventing unnecessary processing and CPU load of a PC when always printing via a printer driver, and avoiding the omission of a printer driver function when always performing direct printing. When using a printer having a direct printing function, which of printing via the printer driver and direct printing is to be done is determined in accordance with print settings of each print job, and then printing is executed. A function to be implemented by the driver among set functions is determined (S504). If there is a function to be implemented by the driver, it is determined whether to give priority to direct printing (S505). If no priority is given to direct printing, the driver is used; otherwise, direct printing is performed.

  • Patent number: 8693014
Abstract: Methods and systems are disclosed to provide conversions from job tickets submitted by clients to normalized tickets in a ticket standard used by the print shop. In one embodiment, a system receives a plurality of print jobs submitted by clients to a print shop. For each of the print jobs, the system identifies extension elements that describe services requested from the print shop. The extension elements are extensions to a job ticket standard used by the print shop. The system maps the extension elements to corresponding standard elements defined in the job ticket standard to generate normalized job tickets for the print shop. The system then transmits the normalized job tickets to a system of the print shop for generating workflows for the print jobs based on the normalized job tickets.

  • Patent number: 8693015
Abstract: Commands, which are stored in a queue within controllers in order of acquisition, are transmitted to mechanical I/F units (steps (1) and (2) in FIG. 7). A determination portion in each mechanical I/F unit determines whether or not the command is an internal command (for example, an error command) which is generated in the controllers. If the command is the internal command, the command is directly output to the mechanical controller. In contrast, if the command is not the internal command, a virtual mechanical controller outputs the command through synchronization processing for confirming whether the commands issued from the controllers are synchronized (steps (3) to (7) in FIG. 7).

  • Patent number: 8693039
Abstract: Methods and systems maintain print media stocking information. The print media stocking information comprises types and amounts of print media stored at a plurality of different physical locations. The different physical locations have printing devices and external storage locations. The print media is maintained within internal storage locations of the printing devices and within the external storage locations at the different physical locations. The external storage locations are outside the printing devices and positioned relative to the printing devices a distance to allow an operator to load the print media into the printing devices when instructed to do so. The methods and systems receive a print job from a user. In response to receiving the print job, the methods and systems output to the user the types and amounts of media available at the different physical locations that correspond to print job media required for the print job.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for optimizing the phase lock loop circuitry of sub-pixel clock generators for situations where frequent switching between different system printing speeds, and hence clock frequencies are required. An optimizing circuit is associated with a sub-pixel clock generator for clamping an input voltage to a voltage controlled oscillator controlling clock frequency between a desired range. The clamping circuitry comprises a comparator for detecting when the voltage has moved out of the desired range and then charges or discharges a loop filter circuit controlling the input voltage to the VCO to keep the input voltage within the desired range.

  • Patent number: 8693050
Abstract: What is disclosed is a novel system and method for controlling process color in a color adjustment system in an image marking device. A control parameter, such as a gain matrix, forms a basis of an adaptive closed-loop controller. A sensitivity matrix is used to calculate the gain matrix. This permits complex color adjustments at a customer location. The present system and method is well suited for long production runs because, as the system moves (or drifts) away from nominal, the color control system will learn the changes in the system (e.g., new input-output sensitivity) with print, measure, and prediction processes, operating on the test patches, and effectively adapt to these changes by re-computing the feedback controller gains and revising the current actuator values to follow desired target color values. The present system and method can also be used for adjusting or developing a CMYK recipe in color management LUTs.
