Abstract: A bale size sensing mechanism for an agricultural round baler having bale chamber partially defined by continuous side-by-side belts disposed between a pair of spaced-apart side walls and trained around a plurality of rolls. Bale size sensing mechanisms disposed in each side wall detects the density of the transverse ends of a bale forming within the chamber and provides the measure to a controller which determines the transverse uniformity of the bale. Each sensing mechanism includes a generally planar element having a wedge-shaped periphery with a vertex, the planar element being pivotally coupled to the baler adjacent to the vertex and a portion of the wedge-shaped periphery projecting into the bale-forming chamber to interact with the bale forming therein. The seed quantity and the distance traveled to empty the meter can be used to optimize the planting operation including the machine direction which can also be part of the prescription.

Abstract: A seeding machine, such as a row crop planter, is described which is adapted to switch between two or more seed varieties as the machine traverses a field. The control system uses a programmed quantity of seed representing a number of seeds in the seed meter that need to be substantially consumed once the flow of a first seed variety is stopped before introducing a second seed variety to minimize seed mixing. The seed quantity can be determined by a calibration process or published from the manufacturer or third parties. The seed quantity can also be part of a seeding prescription that includes assignment of where each seed variety is to be planted in a field. The seed quantity and the distance traveled to empty the meter can be used to optimize the planting operation including the machine direction which can also be part of the prescription.

Abstract: A tool module (16) comprises a module body (15) comprising at least two contact surfaces (22, 27). They are separated from one another by means of a groove (30) and one of them extends into the groove (30). A fixed and accurate fit of the tool module (16) on each bar is ensured by means of this groove. Yarn filaments or very fine dirt particles, grout or wear on the accommodations can be accommodated by the groove. In addition, a simple and failure-free assembly is ensured.

Abstract: A motorized or manual extendable and retractable floating device is supported longitudinally by one or more floatation devices. The flotation deck is stored and supported by tracks or rails from beneath and between an upper deck of a houseboat, pontoon boat, tritoon boat, catamaran, floating dock, pier-supported dock or other watercraft or dock. When fully extended, the floating deck will remain attached to the watercraft, and additional width may be achieved with extendable or fold out sides or wings.

Abstract: The apparatus and method of the present invention provide a crewmember with the ability to retrieve the halyard and shackle at the head of a mast of a contemporary sailing vessel from the deck. A clamshell device containing a magnetized component is pre-installed on the halyard shackle and a related magnetically active cylinder is attached to a companion non-loaded halyard running just beside the loaded halyard. The clamshell is attached at the top of the shackle just below the halyard that is attached to the shackle.

Abstract: An auxiliary appendage attachable to the steerable nozzle of an existing water craft. A first and second rudder blade attach to steerable nozzle. The first rudder blade includes a torsion spring providing a downward torsion force. A detent attached to steerable nozzle prevents rudder blades from hyper-extending in the direction of the downward torsion force. Rudder blades are connected by a deflection bar. Deflection bar is angled towards rudder blades. Rudder blades pivot between a downward position to an upward position based on the forces created thereon from both the torsion spring and the movement of the water over the appendage.

The chain is hold by ratchets (24, 26) that are mounted on arms (34, 36). The arms have upper ends (35) that am pivotally mounted on a housing (38) and have free lower ends (44), with the lower ends being held by cams (50) on locking dogs (52) that have locking dog lower ends (51) pivotally mounted on the housing and free upper ends (60). A hydraulic actuator (70) has pins (58) that engage the upper ends of the locking dogs to prevent the arms and dogs from pivoting apart until the looking dog upper ends (60) are raised.

Abstract: The invention relates to an unmanned underwater vehicle for localizing and examining an object, for example a pipeline, arranged at the bottom of a body of water. For this purpose, the underwater vehicle has object localization means and object examination means. The underwater vehicle has a sonar device with 3D underground sonar for collecting measurement data. The object localization means are designed for three-dimensional acoustic localization of local sections of the object which are arranged both above and below the surface of the bottom of the body of water by means of these measurement data while the underwater vehicle is simultaneously moving away over these local sections for the purpose of examining local sections of the object by means of the object examination means. As a result, the invention allows a pipeline to be simultaneously surveyed and inspected as it is traversed once.
