Abstract: A head guard is provided which has a fabric layer and a padding layer. The head guard is stretchable between a relaxed configuration and an expanded configuration. The expanding configuration has a convex shape such that it can conform to a head of a wearer. The head guard can be worn by a wearer in combination with a helmet.

Abstract: A protective undergarment (10), shown in the form of shorts, includes integrally formed protective panels (22, 26, 30) that exhibit slash-proof properties. The protective areas (22, 26, 30) are made from a flexible Kevlar® knit or the like, and extend to cover the groin, crotch, substantial areas of the buttocks and the inner thigh regions of both legs. The protective panels (22, 26, 30) are externally snitched to a low thermal burden material (18, 20), such as a polyester mesh, that provides elasticity and completes the structure of the shorts (10). The Kevlar® knit is flexible and preferably lies directly against the skin of a user to provide blast wave and ballistic fragment deflection while permitting mobility in a lightweight arrangement. Varying thickness of the Kevlar® knit can be used in the protective areas (22, 26, 30) selectively to enhance protection against blast wave and fragment penetration.

Abstract: A strainer for fitting in a drain of a sink and for being self-cleaning of residual solid debris sticking to the strainer without a user having to touch the residual solid debris, shake the strainer, or hit the strainer against an object. The strainer includes a bowl, a handle, a stopper, and a scraper arm. The bowl fits snugly within the drain of the sink, and is perforated to permit fluid to pass therethrough, while collecting the residual solid debris. The handle is movably mounted through the bowl to manually remove the strainer from the drain of the sink. The stopper is rotatably connected to the handle, is disposed below the bowl, and sits in the drain of the sink. The scraper arm is affixed to, and rotates with, the handle. When the handle is rotated by hand manipulation, the scraper arm sweeps along the bowl self-cleaning the residual solid debris sticking to the bowl without a user having to touch the residual solid debris, shake the strainer, or hit the strainer against the object.

A kit for a pool cover assembly may include first and second tubes and a splicing apparatus configured to interconnect the tubes.

Abstract: A concealing system for hiding shower curtain rods in bathtubs and shower compartments featuring a pair of extension rods oriented parallel to each other and spaced a distance apart and a sheet spanning between the pair of extension rods. The extension rods are sandwiched between the shower compartment walls and positioned to cover and conceal the shower curtain rod.

Abstract: Stainless steel sinks are disclosed which have a chrome surface coating layer. In one highly preferred form the layer is electroplated in a non-uniform manner such that high wear areas automatically receive an extra thickness of the chrome. The layer improves stain resistance and scratch resistance well beyond what conventional chromium mixed throughout the stainless steel itself will do. Processes for applying the layer are also described, as are the effects of different brushing finishes.

Abstract: A soaking basin is provided having a base unit, a disposable liner, and a frame nested therebetween to enable removal of the liner from the base unit, even when filled with liquid. In this manner, a user can remove the liner filled with liquid to pour out the liquid and discard the liner, after a treatment has been completed. Thus, the user need not lift the entire soaking basin to pour out liquid. In addition, the user can use the frame to support the new liner while filling it with liquid, and to transport the filled liner to the base unit to service clients.

The bottom fence has a limiting face and at least one orifice, the limiting face has a channel, two stop posts, and an abutting face. Two screw rods extend out of the hole and are rotated above the base. Two clamping blocks are screwed with the two screw rods and are limited by the two stop posts to rotate when the two screw rods are rotated, and the two clamping blocks move upwardly to retain a bottom end of the sink countertop.

Abstract: A positioning device is described for supporting an infant with myelomeningocele during surgery, transport and pre- and post-operative procedures. The device allows the patient to be expeditiously re-positioned from prone to supine and lateral positions and vice versa before, during and after surgery. The device allows access to the myelomeningocele while the patient is secured in the device.

Abstract: An examination table is shown that is capable of being lowered to a relatively low height. The examination table includes a base, a lifting mechanism, an upper frame structure, and a patient support disposed on or supported directly or indirectly by the upper frame. The lifting mechanism interconnects the base with the upper frame structure. In order to reduce the height of the examination table when it assumes the lower position, the lifting mechanism is projected upwardly through a lower portion of the upper frame such that an upper portion of the lifting mechanism assumes a position in an open area of the upper frame. Once the upper portion of the lifting mechanism is projected into the upper frame, the lifting mechanism is attached to the upper frame such that the upper frame moves up and down as the lifting mechanism moves up and down.

Abstract: A strokes litter victim harness includes a harness, a plurality of connectors, and a stokes litter. The harness is adjustably attached with the stokes litter by the plurality of connectors. The harness, which includes a bottom panel, a top leg panel, a left leg opening, and a right leg opening, provides the necessary support to the victim's body when the victim is transported from one location to another. Many different straps of the harness allow the operator of the stokes litter victim harness to adjust the left leg opening, the right leg opening, and other related spacing so that the victim can be secured within the harness.

Abstract: A diaper changing system utilizes a diaper holder member on which a diaper is to be positioned. Flaps extend outward from the holder member and are foldable over the diaper to maintain it in position on the holder member. The system also includes a unique baby supporting pad configured to be placed on the user's lap. The supporting pad can be utilized to maintain a diaper or in combination with the holder member supporting the diaper. A strap circumscribes the leg of the user to maintain the holder member and supporting pad on the user's leg. Once the supporting pad and/or the holding member, with diaper attached, is secured on the user's leg, the baby is placed on the diaper. The diaper is then wrapped around the baby and secured. The baby is removed from the system's components, which are then folded and compacted for storage and transport.

The cover comprises a main section that extends about the first and second sides and the outer periphery, and a center panel coupled to the main section so as to be located along the inner periphery. Also, the center panel is constructed of a woven fabric having two grain directions that are generally perpendicular to each other and a bias. The woven fabric is generally non-stretchable in at least one of the grain directions, and the center panel is coupled to the main section so as to be substantially on the bias.

The method includes operating the actuator when the wheelchair compartment is in the ramp position so as to cause the wheelchair compartment to rise to the safe position.

Abstract: The invention relates to an apparatus for cleaning a surface which is immersed in a liquid, comprising a hollow body, guiding and driving members, a filtration chamber in the hollow body, at least one liquid inlet, at least one liquid outlet out of the hollow body, at least one axial pumping propeller, a single reversible electric motor whose drive shaft, in order to move it, is simultaneously mechanically connected to at least one motorized member and to each pumping propeller. In a first rotation direction of the drive shaft, each motorized member is driven in a forward direction, and each pumping propeller generates the flow of liquid in the normal direction ensuring the cleaning of the immersed surface. In a second rotation direction of the drive shaft, each motorized member is driven in a backward direction opposite the first direction.

The scraper slides into a slot on the front end of the cavity and the latch firmly attaches the second brush to the first brush. When the brushes are attached, the two brushes act as a single brush with two handles, allowing a user to apply direct pressure to the brush head of the first brush.

On the other hand, if the sliding door is moved in an opening direction, the rod is separated from the piston. As a result, the pressure release hole in the piston is opened and a shock attenuating medium (oil) flows through the pressure release hole and therefore the sliding door moves lightly.
