  • Patent number: 8763293
Abstract: Applicant has disclosed a method and apparatus to enhance feeding cartridges into the receiver of a bolt-action repeating rifle, from a detachable magazine. In the preferred embodiment, Applicant's invention strips the cartridges from the magazines and feeds the cartridges into the chamber by a spring-activated hinged flap, pinned in a mating recess in a breech bolt head, adjacent a well opening and the inserted magazine. The flap is biased by a spring, which tends to lower the flap away from the breech bolt head, when the breech bolt is in a retracted position. As the breech bolt is pushed forward, the flap engages a rim of the next cartridge to be fed from the magazine and pushes the cartridge out of the magazine, over a feed ramp of the magazine, towards the rifle's chamber. The flap raises, against spring pressure, as it contacts a feed ramp of the receiver, allowing the breech bolt to enter the locking area of the receiver.

Abstract: A method for producing a rooted cutting which can be applied to Pinaceae trees. Specifically, the present invention provides a method for producing a rooted cutting of a Pinaceae tree, comprising the following steps A and B: A: adding a cytokinin to the outside of a shoot apex of a short shoot of a Pinaceae tree to thereby induce a new scaly leaf and/or primary leaf; and B: cutting out the short shoot where new scaly leaf and/or primary leaf is induced in the step A, inserting the short shoot as a cutting in a rooting bed wetted with a carbon source-free liquid medium comprising nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium as essential elements, and culturing the short shoot in a culturing vessel while regulating the concentration of CO2 gas in the culturing vessel at a humidity of 80% or more to root the cutting.

  • Patent number: 8763305
Abstract: The seed test kit includes a compartment base, a lid and a holder for an oxygen scavenger. The base includes a liquid gas exchange control trough around its perimeter. It is sized to house a high moisture holding seed planting surface pack at the bottom so seeds can be placed on top of the surface to imbibe and initiate pre-germination mechanisms. The lid has an edge that fits into a trough that houses a gas barrier liquid in the base to form an airtight seal and has an attachable compartment for an oxygen scavenger so the kit may be placed together in an airtight configuration with the oxygen scavenger inside to provide an anaerobic atmosphere.

Abstract: A cage protects the roots of a pond plant planted in a pot from fish and other animals. If the roots are eaten, the plant will die. The pot has a rim and the pot resides on the bottom of a pond. The pond plant has a plurality of stems and each stem has a leaf. The cage covers the top of the pot so that the fish cannot gain access to the roots. In one embodiment the cage includes two sections that are connected together and to the rim of the pot. In another embodiment the cage is a single piece. In both embodiments the leaves of the pond plant are rolled up and passed upwardly through a grid of the cage.

  • Patent number: 8763309
Abstract: A deployable and inflatable roof, wall, or other structure has first and second covers made of flexible panels and cables arranged from edge to edge along the covers. Couplings along the edges of the covers connect the structure to supports, such as rails on which the structure can deploy and other supports of a building. Air from blowers blow air in between the covers to inflate the structure like an air cushion. In addition to cables, lateral support for the structure can use struts disposed edge to edge along the covers. Traction or rack and pinion drive mechanisms or cable drive systems can be used to deploy and retract the structure along the rails to cover or open a rooftop or other opening or area of the building.

  • Patent number: 8763312
Abstract: A combination of interlocking primary, top, and bottom interlocking panels (or slats) and slat wall pegs, where the primary panels each have two horizontal spaced-apart slots positioned such that the spacing between slots on a panel and slots across a panel boundary is the same. The interlocking features conceal fasteners that are used proximate the interlock, providing an improved appearance. The top panels attach by spring clips for manual installation and removal. The bottom panels fasten to the wall. Attachment flanges on primary and bottom panels have a groove for fastener alignment. The pegs have resilient arcuate bases with a top flange for engaging a flange channel in the top of a slot and a bottom flange for engaging a floor and back wall of a lower slot. Pegs may be slotted for ease of storage.
