The seating row has a seat back that is pivotally connected to the vehicle body for providing access to the storage compartment when the seat back is in a collapsed position. A battery having a top surface is mounted within the storage compartment. A receptacle is provided with a back surface that is connected to the top surface of the battery by a panel. The receptacle moves in a fore-and-aft direction relative to the battery between a rearward position within the storage compartment and a forward position within the passenger compartment. A face of the receptacle engages the seat back, and the panel extends from the receptacle to the battery in the forward position for providing a raised platform extending to the passenger compartment.

Abstract: Apparatus for separating a stack of sheets from a pile of sheet material that is arranged so that tear paths of a plurality of sheets form a tear surface includes a first clamp for clamping the pile at a first side of the tear surface and a second clamp for clamping the pile at a second side of the tear surface. At least the first clamp includes a sustaining member having at least one sustaining point for supporting the pile, and an upper member having at least one contact point for contacting the pile. Rotation of the first clamp relative to the second clamp brings about the separation of a stack of sheets from the pile of sheet material by breaking the tear paths present in the tear surface.

Abstract: A portable linear fastener driving tool is provided that drive staples, nails, or other linearly driven fasteners. The tool uses a gas spring principle, in which a cylinder filled with compressed gas is used to quickly force a piston through a driving stroke movement, while a driver also drives a fastener into a workpiece. The piston/driver is then moved back to its starting position by use of a rotary-to-linear lifter, and the piston again compresses the gas above the piston, thereby preparing the tool for another driving stroke. An improved lifter design has modified lifting pins that reduce the side-forces on the driver. A pivotable latch acts as a safety device, by preventing the driver from making a full driving stroke at an improper time. An improved latch design has a more durable catching surface.

The cartridge has a plurality of chambers, and each chamber is adjacent a pocket and configured to store at least one fastener at least partially therein. At least one fastener is movable from the chamber to the pocket. The cartridge includes a plurality of pushers, where each pusher is configured to engage at least one corresponding fastener. At least one pusher includes at least one cam surface thereon. Each biasing member urges at least one corresponding fastener toward the corresponding pocket.

Abstract: A surgical instrument having a handle assembly and an elongated shaft assembly protruding therefrom. Various embodiments of the elongated shaft assemblies include reconfigurable shaft segments that have portions that may be selectively arranged in coaxial alignment with each other and in other configurations wherein at least some portions thereof are not in coaxial alignment with each other. Various locking arrangements are disclosed for releasably locking the reconfigurable shaft segments in desired orientations. A movable closure tube is supported on the elongated shaft segment and is oriented to provide actuation motions to an end effector coupled to the distal end of the elongated shaft.

Abstract: Devices for attaching a sheet-like implant to a target tissue include a sheath and a staple push rod. The sheath has a distal end configured to be pressed against the target tissue. The staple push rod is disposed within at least a portion of the sheath and is slidable relative thereto. The staple push rod includes a pair of stakes. Each stake is dimensioned to abut a surface of a staple to apply pushing forces thereto. The stakes are biased to assume a bow-like shape such that an intermediate portion of a staple extends tautly between the first stake and the second stake when the stakes are extending beyond the distal end of the tubular member. Methods for attaching a sheet-like implant to a target tissue are also disclosed.

The instrument has a main drive shaft assembly for pushing the sled through the housing to eject the staples. Also included is a motor operatively coupled to the actuation shaft. The motor includes a drive assembly. The instrument further includes a sensor in the drive assembly to measure an actuation load. The instrument further includes a sensor for measuring a power output of the motor. The instrument further includes a console for remote control of the motor, the console comprising hand manipulated controls. The instrument further includes a means for providing proportionate feedback from the sensors to the hand manipulated controls.

The filler material forms a 4000-series aluminum alloy further including one or more wetting elements selected from Bi 0.03-0.5, Pb 0.03-0.5, Sb 0.03-0.5, Li 0.03-0.5, Se 0.03-0.5, Y 0.03-0.05, Th 0.03-0.05, wherein the sum of these elements being 0.5% or less.

Abstract: A method for applying a wear reducing material to a tool used in a wellbore operation that includes welding a hardfacing alloy to a surface of the tool, wherein the welding comprises friction stirring the alloy into the tool's surface is disclosed. Methods of welding a preformed sleeve or width of wear reducing material using friction stirring are also disclosed.

Abstract: A friction stir welding method for a metal material for longitudinally welding members to be butted and then welded with complicated shape portions in section at end portions. The friction stir welding method includes preparing members to be welded and formed with excess thickness portions and a welding tool provided with a probe; performing a first welding to the members to be welded; inserting the welding tool from the excess thickness portion to cause plastic flow of the metal material subsequent to the butt-welding; and performing a second welding.

Abstract: A method for assembling at least two parts made of silicon carbide-based materials by non-reactive brazing is disclosed. The two parts are contacted with a non-reactive brazing composition. The assembly formed by the parts and the brazing composition is heated to a brazing temperature sufficient to melt the brazing composition. The parts and the brazing composition are cooled so that, after solidification of the brazing composition, a moderately refractory joint is formed. The non-reactive brazing composition is a binary alloy composed, in mass percentages, of about 46% to 99% silicon and 54% to 1% neodymium.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a joint (10) that includes a first member (11) to be jointed, a second member (12) to be jointed and a jointing layer (13) located between the first member (11) and the second member (12). The jointing layer (13) is made of Sn metal and a metallic material with a melting point higher than the melting point of the Sn metal. The present invention relates also to a method of joining this first member (11) to the second member (12).

Abstract: Cobalt-based solder alloys are proposed. The cobalt-based solder alloys have germanium. The germanium has a higher melting point than nickel-based alloys such that the germanium is used advantageously for repairing or treating components having the nickel-based alloys used at high temperatures. The components are repaired or treated by soldering using the cobalt-based solder alloys.

Abstract: An octagonal container for food, such as suitable for keeping or packaging tostadas, manufactured from a carton blank, is formed of eight sections or sides which includes at one end a flap with adhesion thereon that is joined to an opposite flap. The container also has edges located on top and bottom sides that are folded and joined towards the center of the container. The top part of the container is structured to form what appears to be a flower upon closure which provides a very attractive characteristic for the consumer. The container also has a practical, new, and easy closing system, so that when opening the container, it is only necessary to pull the opening flaps outward. To close the container, it is only necessary to press such flaps to the center and inwards and the container will be kept sealed. When closing the container, a “sinking” is formed in the top part of the container which acts as a cushion so that the product in the container is kept in good condition.

The machine includes a reader device operative to read data usable to identify a financial account authorized for use in conducting a transaction through the machine. An authorized machine user can use the machine to perform financial transactions, including dispensing cash and making deposits. The machine can receive a deposit in the form of a stack of sheets that includes both currency notes and checks. The machine includes a check/cash discriminator module that includes a magnetic read head, an imager, sensors, and at least one validation device. The module can determine whether the type of sheet removed from a received stack corresponds to a currency note or to a financial check. The module can then analyze the sheet for validity according to its determined sheet type.

The commerce partner does not accept the loyalty points as payment for commerce partner services, at least without requiring the loyalty points be first converted to different loyalty points. Responsive to a received selection of the conversion option, a computer presents within a user interface a quantity of available different loyalty points for use as payment for the commerce partner services. The quantity of available different loyalty points results from converting the subset of loyalty points into the quantity of available different loyalty points.

Abstract: An implementation of a system and method for using existing identification token infrastructures for mass transit fare product entitlement and payment is provided. The system and method make use of tokens—usually issued by a third party—for identification purposes and optionally for settlement purposes. The system does not store information on the tokens and instead maintains access control data (i.e., “white” and “black” lists). This implementation differs from known systems that require specially issued credit cards that have dedicated mass transit functionality.

Abstract: The present technology relates to methods, systems and computer program products for detecting objects in images captured by a camera of a mobile device. The detection of objects (such as barcodes, QR codes, and text) in images can be based at least in part on image gradients of the image. The image can be divided into a plurality of regions, each having a dominant gradient direction. Based at least in part on the dominant gradient directions of the regions satisfying orientation thresholds, the regions can be identified as candidate or non-candidate regions for corresponding to a predetermined object. The candidate regions can be merged if they satisfy a connecting criterion. The merged regions can then be analyzed to determine if the merged regions satisfy a geometric property of the predetermined object, such as having a rectangular shape substantially similar to that of a barcode.

Abstract: Plastic asset identification tags are described. The tags define an attachment feature by which the tag is attached to the asset. The tag also defines a cavity or slot in which an RFID transceiver is placed. Epoxy fills the remainder of the slot or cavity. The RFID transceiver is programmed to respond to interrogation by transmitting a unique identifier that is associated with the object to which the tag is attached. Additional information about the object may also be responsively transmitted, and in some embodiments that additional information is also written on the outside of the tag. Other tags seal the RFID transceiver within a pocket of flexible fabric-supported PVC.

The damping element projects into the coupling field and dampens the coupling field. In this manner, a maximum value of a transmitting and receiving range of the identification plate can be reduced.
