Abstract: A brake valve is insertable into a working line of a hydrostatic travel drive. The brake valve has a main stage with a first port connected to a variable displacement pump of the drive system and a second port connected to a motor of the drive system. The main stage has a slide piston positionable in a valve bore. In a freewheeling position, a connection is maximally open with minimal throttling between the two ports. In pressure-reducing positions, a regulable, throttled connection is open from the second to the first port to brake the motor. In pressure-limiting positions, a regulable, throttled connection is open from the first to the second port to begin to throttle a pressure medium flow from the variable displacement pump to a pressure protection mechanism. Abstract: An exhaust system for treating exhaust gas from an internal combustion engine is disclosed. The system comprises a three-way catalyst (TWC), a fuel reformer catalyst located downstream of the TWC, and a fuel supply means located upstream of the fuel reformer catalyst. The exhaust gas is split into two portions. The first portion of the exhaust gas bypasses the TWC and contacts the fuel reformer catalyst in the presence of fuel added from the fuel supply means, and is then recycled back to the engine intake. The second portion of the exhaust gas is contacted with the TWC and is then utilized to heat the fuel reformer catalyst before being expelled to atmosphere. The exhaust system allows for maximum heat exchange from the exhaust gas.

Abstract: The invention proposes a concentrating solar power plant, which includes a heat storage unit allowing operation of the power plant for some hours on the base of accumulated heat. An important feature of the plant constitutes its ability to operate with direct steam generation (DSG) immediately in the concentrating solar collectors. Heat charging of the heat storage unit are performed with changing temperature of superheated steam, which circulates via the heat storage unit and a sub-field of the concentrating solar collectors; this sub-field serves solely for temperature elevation of the circulating superheated steam. Heat discharging of the heat storage unit is executed by heating the circulated superheated steam, which is delivering from a mixer-evaporator. This mixer-evaporator serves, in turn, for evaporation of condensate obtained in a condenser of a turbine unit; the evaporation process is based on utilization of sensible heat of the superheated steam.

Abstract: The invention is directed to an energy efficient thermoelectric heat pump assembly. The thermoelectric heat pump assembly preferably comprises two to nine thermoelectric unit layers capable of active use of the Peltier effect; and at least one capacitance spacer block suitable for storing heat and providing a delayed thermal reaction time of the assembly. The capacitance spacer block is thermally connected between the thermoelectric unit layers. The present invention further relates to a thermoelectric transport and storage devices for transporting or storing temperature sensitive goods, for example, vaccines, chemicals, biologicals, and other temperature sensitive goods. Preferably the transport or storage devices are configured and provide on-board energy storage for sustaining, for multiple days, at a constant-temperature, with an acceptable temperature variation band.

Abstract: In a closed circuit a heat transfer fluid is cycled from a first heat transfer zone to a second heat transfer zone via a downcomer, all arranged in an ambient. The first heat transfer zone, housed inside a first box, comprises a first heat transfer surface across which the liquefied stream is brought in a first indirect heat exchanging contact with the heat transfer fluid. The heat transfer fluid is allowed to condense, and a part of the condensed portion of the heat transfer fluid is allowed to accumulate within the first box thereby forming a liquid layer of the heat transfer fluid. Liquid is drawn from the liquid layer and passed through the downcomer to the second heat transfer zone. The second heat transfer zone comprises a second heat transfer surface across which the heat transfer fluid is brought in a second indirect heat exchanging contact with the ambient.
