  • Patent number: 8845087
Abstract: Systems and methods provide dynamic radiant drying for a print media by monitoring a temperature of a test patch of colorant during the drying process. One embodiment is a radiant dryer and a control system. The radiant dryer receives a media marked with a wet colorant that depicts a sheetside of print data and a test patch. The radiant dryer includes a radiant energy source that heats the colorant based on a heating power. The radiant dryer further includes a cooling system within the interior that applies a cooling gas to the medium. The control system obtains a temperature of the test patch, determines a difference between the temperature of the test patch and a target temperature, and varies the heating power and/or an application of the cooling gas based on the difference to normalize temperatures across the medium during a drying process.

  • Patent number: 8845099
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for monitoring eye movements of a user, and diagnosing and treating eye conditions substantially in real-time. A visual display device is provided with optical display fields corresponding to eyes of the user, and a controller linked to the device is programmed to measure eye positions with respect to the display device and determine optical deviations in any eye with respect to a central visual axis of the other (dominant) eye. In response to deviations exceeding a first value, an occlusion spot is generated in the display field for the dominant eye of a size corresponding to the degree of optical deviation. The location of the occlusion is continuously adjusted in accordance with real-time movements of the dominant eye based on the received signals from the device. • Patent number: 8845109
Abstract: A projection system based on self emitting display panels is described, in which the projection technology involves organic/inorganic electroluminescent display panels with spatially separated color segments. The color pictures are shown in three spatially separate segments. A color combination mechanism, such as dichroic mirrors, are used to merge the three color pictures to a color picture. One of the advantages of the present invention is that only the on state pixel is driven to a bright state that uses energy. The off state pixel need not be driven to a bright state and therefore the energy consumption is virtually nothing. Another advantage is that the system does not require a separate light source and display panel. Therefore the projection system can be made very compact, which is extremely useful for portable projection systems.

  • Patent number: 8845123
Abstract: Apparatus for mounting accessories to guns. Some embodiments provide gun mounts each including a body and a magnet to magnetically couple the mount to the gun. The bodies are shaped and dimensioned to mechanically retain the accessories (which can be flash lights). The magnets are mechanically coupled to the bodies (and can be an integral portion thereof) and cause magnetic fields. Given the shapes and dimensions of the bodies, the positions of the magnets relative to the bodies and relative to the barrels of the guns when the bodies abut the barrels, the magnetic field strengths are within a range sufficient to releasably and magnetically couple the magnets and the barrels. In some embodiments the magnetic field strengths are sufficient to limit the ranges of motion of the mounts relative to the guns during the shock created by firing the gun.
