Publication number: 20150075345Abstract: The present invention relates to an apparatus for cutting vegetables of different sizes and densities in a quick, safe and efficient manner The apparatus embodied herein provides an automated cutting process requiring only one operator who need not apply any physical exertion during the cutting process, and need not place his or her hands in the vicinity of the blade, as is necessary in conventional cutting methods using saws, guillotines and the like. The speed of the cutting blade bearing down on the vegetable is adjustable by varying the air pressure to a cylinder which actuates movement of the blade. This is advantageous in that the speed of the blade can be changed to suit particular sizes and densities of vegetable. The use of pneumatics further provides an extremely swift blade motion which reduces the likelihood of bruising to the vegetable as well as inaccurate portioning. Furthermore, when using such equipment, the quality of the cut will not be impaired over significant periods of use.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 21, 2014Publication date: March 19, 2015Inventors: Bruno Romeo, Nazzarena Romeo

Publication number: 20150075355Abstract: A sound synthesizer 101 that plays a pre-determined sequence of sound notes one by one when the user taps on a touch sensitive surface 104 of the sound synthesizer 101. Different music is produced by varying the intervals between the sound notes, even from the same sequence of sound notes. The sound notes are selected according to a pre-determined scale, such as the pentatonic scale, for ease of matching to other music scales, and to reduce the disonnance between sound notes in scales such as that seen in the major scale.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 17, 2013Publication date: March 19, 2015Applicant: City University of Hong KongInventors: Yi Tang, Jackie CHUI, Mubarak M. Publication number: 20150075359Abstract: A method determining artillery fire corrections toward a fixed target using a fixed observation system is oriented and equipped with a device measuring orientation of line of sight, a laser rangefinder, positioning means, a display screen with a fixed crosshair, and means displaying and moving another crosshair on screen. The method includes: orienting the observation system to display the central crosshair on the target image and calculating target geographical coordinates using distance provided by the rangefinder. If, after firing, the impact and target do not coincide, the method includes: orientation being fixed: displaying a second crosshair on the impact image and measuring offset between the two crosshairs, displaying a third crosshair symmetrical to the second crosshair; orienting the optronic system to position the third crosshair on the target image, the first crosshair coinciding with the impact point image, and actuating the rangefinder to obtain distance between the system and impact.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 15, 2013Publication date: March 19, 2015Applicant: THALESInventors: Patrick Seugnet, Stésphane Godio

Publication number: 20150075360Abstract: In a hydraulic control circuit including a solenoid valve, whose change responsiveness in an actual pressure with respect to a change in an instructional pressure deteriorates when the instructional pressure enters a dead band region on a lower pressure side than a dead band threshold, for adjusting a hydraulic pressure supplied to a hydraulic device operated by the hydraulic pressure based on the instructional pressure, the instructional pressure is increased in a stepwise manner to a charge pressure higher than the dead band threshold, when the instructional pressure is set in the dead band region and the instructional pressure increases within the dead band region to such an extent that a speed ratio does not change. Then, a lower limit of the instructional pressure is set to the dead band threshold, and use of the dead band region is prohibited for a certain period of time.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 21, 2013Publication date: March 19, 2015Inventors: Seiichiro Takahashi, Takashi Eguchi, Tomohiro Utagawa, Hisao Nobu, Kenji Sakakibara, Takahiro Ikeda, Masayuki Shimizu
