Abstract: The aircraft capable of takeoff/landing via the fuselage thereof and the takeoff/landing system of the aircraft according to the present invention are configured such that multiple takeoff/landing rollers are arranged in a sliding direction such that the aircraft fuselage having a landing surface formed at the bottom thereof can safely land and slide in a sliding direction, thus enabling the aircraft fuselage to contact a running surface and takeoff/land without separate landing gear. Thus, not only can the weight of the aircraft be reduced, but the fuel consumption of the aircraft can be reduced as well, the useful space in the aircraft can be broadened, the length of the runway can be shortened due to the frictional force generated by the takeoff/landing device, and the safety during the takeoff/landing of the aircraft can be improved.

Abstract: An aircraft drive wheel drive system is provided with a torque coupling clutch assembly that transfers torque to a roller traction drive system actuating a non-engine drive means to drive an aircraft landing gear wheel and move the aircraft autonomously in a desired ground direction and at a desired ground speed. The wheel drive system and clutch assembly are mounted completely within the wheel where the clutch assembly is selectively engaged to control torque transmission to the drive system, which selectively transfers actuating torque to the non-engine drive means. A preferred selectable one way clutch is adapted to controllably transfer torque to the wheel drive system and has both failsafe overrunning and selective engagement capability in one or both rotational directions so that torque required to drive the aircraft wheel and move the aircraft at a desired ground speed and direction is transferred only when required by aircraft operating conditions.

A merging unit (22 a-k) is provided for forming at least one product stack (12 a-k) by reducing a spacing (24 a-k) between stack contact surfaces (20 a-k) of at least two stop means (18 a-k), said stack contact surfaces lying opposite one another in a product group direction (26 a-k).

Abstract: A rotary bag transfer device used in a bag filling and packaging apparatus and provided with a plurality of pairs of grippers installed around an intermittently rotating table. The bag transfer device includes an arm support mechanism (21), which supports the base portion of an arm (15) of each one of the pair of grippers (13), and a drive force transmission mechanism (22), which actuates the arm support mechanism. A link (51) that is part of the drive force transmission mechanism is linked at its one end to an adjusting ring (49), a link (46) is linked at its one end to the arm support mechanism, and these links are linked together at their other ends. When the adjusting ring rotates, a center plane (M) between the grippers is displaced (for amount Da) to offset from a reference plane (N) that passes through the center (O) of the table.

Abstract: Shrink wrap films that are customized to have a shape matching a shape of a particular part or parts are disclosed. The shrink wrap films can be formed using unique manufacturing techniques that involve heating the part or parts prior to applying the shrink wrap film. The resultant part or parts will have substantially wrinkle-free and defect-free shrink wrap film applied thereon. In some embodiments, additional functional and cosmetic features are formed in the shrink wrap film. In some embodiments, a laser cutting procedure is used to form the features in the shrink wrap film. Methods can be used to provide visually and tactilely smooth and aesthetically appealing shrink wrapped consumer products.

Abstract: Disclosed are composite polymeric materials in which one or more polymers of the composite are incorporated into a cyclodextrin inclusion complex. Disclosed composite polymeric materials can exhibit improvements in thermal stability as compared to similar materials that do not utilize an inclusion complex in the formulation. In one embodiment, disclosed materials can be quickly composted and biodegraded to form environmentally innocuous components. Additionally, one or more polymers of a material can be derived from renewable resources. Disclosed materials can include additional additives such as nanoclays, inhibitory agents, natural fibers, and so forth and may be formed for use in any of a variety of packaging applications, e.g., injection blow molded packaging materials.
