Abstract: Methods and systems print test patterns in different test pattern areas on print media using a printer to produce a printed item. The printer has a printing width in a cross-process direction, and each of the test pattern areas is in a different cross-process location of the printing width. The test pattern areas are distributed across the entire printing width, and each of the test pattern areas partially overlaps at least one other test pattern area in the cross-process direction. Next, these methods and systems individually scan the sections of the printed item using a scanner that has a scanning width that is less than the printing width. This produces individual scans of the test pattern areas. The widths of the test pattern areas are equal to or less than the scanning width. Then, these methods and systems can calibrate cross-process characteristics of the printer based on the scans.

Abstract: A tire assembly includes a reservoir, a tire, and a pressure module. The pressure module includes a first valve, a second valve, and a control unit. The first valve selectively directs air from the reservoir to the interior cavity. The second valve directs air from the interior cavity of the tire to the atmosphere. The control unit is configured to selectively send a first control signal to the first valve such that the first valve cycles from a first position, at which air is prevented from flowing from the reservoir to the interior cavity, to a second position, at which air is allowed to flow from the reservoir to the interior cavity of the tire. The control unit is configured to selectively send another first control signal to the first valve such that the first valve cycles from the second position to the first position.

A tire model of the tire comprising model's circumferential tread zones is defined. A simulation for running the tire model under rolling conditions for free-rolling, braking, driving and cornering is performed to obtain a first average wear energy of each model's circumferential tread zone under each rolling condition. With respect to a given running pattern of the tire, occurrence frequencies of the respective rolling conditions occurring in the running pattern are defined.
