  • Patent number: 9236050
Abstract: Apparatus and method that improves speech recognition accuracy, by monitoring the position of a user's headset-mounted speech microphone, and prompting the user to reconfigure the speech microphone's orientation if required. A microprocessor or other application specific integrated circuit provides a mechanism for comparing the relative transit times between a user's voice, a primary speech microphone, and a secondary compliance microphone. The difference in transit times may be used to determine if the speech microphone is placed in an appropriate proximity to the user's mouth. If required, the user is automatically prompted to reposition the speech microphone.

  • Patent number: 9236051
Abstract: Systems and methods for bio-phonetic multi-phrase speaker identity verification are disclosed. Generally, a speaker identity verification engine generates a dynamic phrase including at least one dynamically-generated word. The speaker identity verification engine prompts a user to speak the dynamic phrase and receives a dynamic phrase utterance. The speaker identity verification engine extracts at least one voice characteristic from the dynamic phrase utterance and compares the at least one voice characteristic with a voice profile the generate a score. The speaker identity verification engine then determines whether to accept a speaker identity claim based on the score.

  • Patent number: 9236053
Abstract: An encoding and decoding system includes: a characteristic determining unit which determines whether a sound signal is a speech signal or an audio signal; an encoder which encodes the sound signal into an encoded signal, based on a determination by the characteristic determining unit; a transmitting unit which transmits the encoded signal; a receiving unit which receives the encoded signal; a decoder which decodes the encoded signal; and a packet loss detecting unit which detects a loss of data of the encoded signal and transmits a notification indicating the loss of the data to the characteristic determining unit. Upon receiving the notification indicating the loss of the data, the characteristic determining unit causes the encoder to encode the sound signal portion into a signal portion composed of independently decodable frames.

  • Patent number: 9236056
Abstract: Implementations are provided herein relating to audio matching. A variable length local sensitivity hash (“LSH”) index can be created through a careful examination of existing LSH bands in the LSH index. LSH bands with offset lists that meet a band size threshold can be lengthened repeatedly until a maximum length threshold is reached or an offset list associated with a lengthened LSH band fails to meet the band size threshold. The LSH index can be further tuned by down-sampling or discarding LSH bands that reach a maximum length threshold and still lack discriminate properties.
