Abstract: The invention relates to a method for the virtual post-processing of a first virtual three-dimensional dental model (14) of a dental prosthesis (28), said model having been created during the planning of the prosthesis (28). The first virtual dental model (14) is processed virtually after the planning stage in an additional method step (18, 31) by adapting at least one three-dimensional aesthetic surface structure (17) already in existence to the first dental model (14) by means of a virtual tool (10) with the aid of a computer (4) and a display device (6) and by subsequently inserting said structure into the first dental model (14). The aesthetic surface structure (17) has a predetermined form, size and/or a predetermined impression depth (41), and a tooth surface (19) of the dental model (14) is at least partially replaced by the adapted aesthetic surface structure (15, 17).

Abstract: A cradle, assembly, system and method for installing a prosthesis at a surgical site. The cradle temporarily engages the prosthesis and holds it in the correct orientation and position adjacent the surgical site. An aperture is defined in the cradle and a portion of the prosthesis is received therein. In one embodiment, the cradle, assembly and system are used to install a final dental prosthesis in a patient's mouth in a single visit to the dentist's office. A securement member pins the surgical template and subsequently the cradle to the jaw. A reinforced sub-structure on the final dental prosthesis is received in the aperture in the cradle. Cylinders attached to implants anchored in the jaw extend through holes in the sub-structure and are bonded to the prosthesis. The cradle is detached from the jaw and from the prosthesis prior to screws being re-inserted through the cylinders and into the implants.

Abstract: A method for producing a dental model by means of a generative layering technique comprises the following steps: altering a three-dimensional CAD model of the dental model, wherein gap-like recesses are generated, such that the CAD model is cut into segments by the gap-like recesses, and connecting bridges are placed in the CAD model in such a way that the connecting bridges connect adjacent segments to each other, producing the dental model by means of a generative layering technique on the basis of the altered three-dimensional CAD model.

In this method or system, when both the 3D teeth model of the upper jaw and the 3D teeth model of the lower jaw are successfully aligned with the bite surface, the bite surface with the 3D teeth models of the upper jaw and the lower jaw is displayed for further evaluation; the bite surfaces selected by the user are combined to generate a final bite registration. Using multiple bite surfaces for registration improves the accuracy.
