Abstract: A non-woven textile constructed using splitable staple fibers is usable in lithographic and inkjet printer machine cleaning applications. The use of the splitable staple fiber non-woven in a lithographic printing machine provides improved removal and containment of waste inks, fluids, and paper dust within the printer machine. The use of the splitable staple fiber non-woven in an inkjet printing machine also provides removal of ambient particulate such as human hair or other particulate foreign to the printer machine contained within the printer machine. The cleaning ability of the non-woven textile is a function of several properties including the large amount of available fiber surface area per area of non-woven, the surface uniformity, the fibers' microscopic sharp edges, the capillary force, and the mechanical toughness provided by the highly entangled split staple fine denier fibers which make up the splitable staple fiber non-woven.

Abstract: A recording paper supply mechanism 20 of a roll paper printer 1 has a roll paper holder 26 that holds the sides of a paper roll 12 on the transverse axis X at a position above Z1 the roll paper receiver 25. A delivery roller 22 is disposed above Z1 the paper roll 12 on the roll paper receiver 25. A detection unit 24 has a emitter 24A and photodetector 24B position so a detection beam L travels diagonally below the delivery roller 22, and the detection beam L intersects the path A of paper roll 12 movement when rising toward the delivery roller 22. A near-end state can therefore be detected based on output of the detection unit 24 even when the paper roll 12 is raised by force pulling in the delivery direction.

Abstract: A determination apparatus comprises a memory and a controller. The memory stores the area data of a plurality of areas divided in a specific form. The controller acquires a scanned image after an erasing processing is carried out for a sheet on which the specific form is printed, determines the state of the sheet subjected to the erasing processing by differing a threshold value for each image area associated with the area data and determines whether or not the sheet is reusable based on the result of the determination.

Abstract: There is provided a platemaking method of forming relief based on relief pattern data in a printing plate to be pressed on a printing matter, and the platemaking method includes the steps of: estimating distribution of printing pressure of the printing plate pressed on the printing matter on the basis of image data; calculating an amount of correction of engraving shape data on the basis of the distribution of printing pressure; correcting the engraving shape data on the basis of the amount of correction; and acquiring exposure amount data from the engraving shape data corrected. By exposure (engraving) processing based on the exposure amount data that can be acquired in this way, it is possible to form relief in consideration of deformation of a printing plate in accordance with the distribution of printing pressure in the printing plate to favorably print and reproduce an image on a printing medium.
