Abstract: A method is described for separating CO2 and/or H2S from a mixed gas stream by contacting the gas stream with a non-aqueous, liquid absorbent medium of a primary and/or secondary aliphatic amine, preferably in a non-aqueous, polar, aprotic solvent under conditions sufficient for sorption of at least some of the CO2. The solution containing the absorbed CO2 can then be treated to desorb the acid gas. The method is usually operated as a continuous cyclic sorption-desorption process, with the sorption being carried out in a sorption zone where a circulating stream of the liquid absorbent contacts the gas stream to form a CO2-rich sorbed solution, which is then cycled to a regeneration zone for desorption of the CO2 (advantageously at <100° C.). Upon CO2 release, the regenerated lean solution can be recycled to the sorption tower. CO2:(primary+secondary amine) adsorption molar ratios >0.5:1 (approaching 1:1) may be achieved.

Abstract: Innovative blender works with two rotors that each one is connected to an impeller. The rotors rotate contrary and transfer energy with two concentric axes configured of a shaft and a casing. The dual rotor causes fluid to be mixed completely without any swirling, drag or vortex, and this caused high agitation of fluid with high efficiency. The main reason for use of such blenders could include: household uses, laboratories, research centers, educational facilities, industries, water and wastewater treatment plants and anywhere that chemical compounds are mixed with fluids such as water or gases rapidly having short agitation time, in either low or high volumes.

Abstract: A mixing assembly includes a bag of appropriate size, configuration, shape and material and a closable spout that may have extensions of various lengths, shapes and configurations to provide enhanced mixing of a component contained in the bag upon the addition of a second component. Once the closure of the spout is removed, the second component, typically a liquid such as water, milk, juice, chemical, oil substrate, or the like, can be added to the container for mixing. After the closure is refitted, the two components are mixed then consumed or dispensed, either by removing the closure or from a separate spout or nozzle fitted to the closure.

Abstract: A delay system for a stirring machine includes a plurality of vertical stirring augers, supported to a cross tube, with each auger having a tilt switch. A gear motor is connected to the cross tube and moves the cross tube forwardly around a bin. A delay assembly is connected to the tilt switches and the gear motor. The delay assembly shuts off the gear motor when the stirring augers are vertically displaced and starts the gear motor after a time delay once the stirring augers return to a vertical position.

Abstract: A mixing apparatus includes a mixing device with a rotatable shaft and at least one blade. The mixing apparatus also includes a shaft guide having a central portion and a head portion attached to the central portion. The central portion and the head portion together define an aperture extending from the proximal end to the distal end such that the proximal end and the distal end are in fluid communication through the aperture. The shaft guide provides all axial and radial bearing support for the mixing device such that no other radial or axial support is used when the mixing device operates within an associated container. In other examples, a shaft bushing is located around a portion of the mixing device.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for producing beads comprising a material capable of gelation, said method comprising the steps of: (i) combining (a) a liquid composition comprising a material capable of gelation; and (b) a first hydrophobic phase; (ii) subjecting the liquid composition and the first hydrophobic phase, to means for emulsification in a first reactor by addition of external mechanical energy creating an emulsion comprising individual droplets comprising the material capable of gelation in the first hydrophobic phase (wherein the material capable of gelation provides a discontinuous phase and the first hydrophobic phase provides a continuous phase); (iii) stabilising the droplets by transferring the emulsion from the first reactor to a stabilisation reactor wherein the emulsion obtained in step (ii) is subjected to means for gelation in order to obtain gelation within 5 minutes or less, and the beads are formed.

Abstract: A riser includes a housing in communication with a entry conduit and an exit conduit. The housing is defined by a holdup chamber having a volume of between about 1133 liters and about 45307 liters. The riser is designed to receive a hydrocarbon feed and a catalyst. An apparatus for fluid catalytic cracking includes a riser in fluid communication with a reactor vessel. A hydrocarbon feed stream and a catalyst travel through a first section of the riser at a first velocity of between about 1.5 msec to about 10 msec and through a second section of the riser at a second velocity of more than about 15 msec. A process for fluid catalytic cracking uses a riser with a holdup chamber. A hydrocarbon feed and a catalyst decrease in velocity in the holdup chamber to between 1.5 msec and 10 msec.
