Abstract: A hybrid cyclone mist collection device having a housing containing an inlet, an outlet and a cyclone body forming a wall extending about a vertical axis. The inlet brings mist-laden air through an airflow straightening area into the cyclone body in a tangential manner, creating a spiral flow path within the cyclone body. Mist-laden air entering the spiral flow path then moves downwardly through the cyclone body causing mist particles to collect on the wall of the cyclone body and then move downward due to the downward spiral airflow and gravity. At the bottom of the cyclone body the collected liquid enters an annular drain channel located beneath a vortex deflector plate and an annular shed sheet. A drain connected to the drain channel continuously removes the collected liquid from the housing and returns it to the machine tool station for reuse. The de-misted air exits the outlet and moves on to a central filter housing for final treatment.

A flow control valve controls flow of water from a water supply to the discharge nozzle. A flow control valve positioner establishes a current control valve position of the flow control valve between essentially fully closed and essentially fully open positions. A water flow detector determines an approximation of water emanating from the control valve, and generates a water flow signal. A controller receives a sprinkler head position from the sprinkler head position determiner, and the water flow signal from the water flow detector, and in response sends a control valve control signal to the flow control valve positioner.

The pump and dispenser may be operated in cooperation with one another such that the quantity or flow rate of liquid dispensed by the dispenser can be precisely metered substantially independently of the particular operating parameters of said dispenser to attain a desired flow rate, droplet size or mist quality, droplet frequency or droplet velocity.

Abstract: Provided is a replaceable tip for communicating caulking from a reservoir of caulking. The reservoir is defined by a body having an opening and an external surface. The replaceable tip comprises: a) a flange operable to abut the external surface of the body; b) a conduit have a first portion and a second portion, the conduit extending through the flange and operable to enter the reservoir of caulking and operable to communicate caulking from inside the reservoir of caulking to outside the reservoir of caulking; and c) reversible sealing means for reversibly sealing the flange with the external surface of the body. When the reversible sealing means reversibly seals the flange with the external surface of the body, i) the flange prevents the first portion of the conduit from entering the reservoir; and ii) the second portion of the conduit is within the reservoir and aligns the conduit with the opening in the body thereby affecting communication with the reservoir.

Abstract: Embodiments provide electron-conducting, electron-transparent substrates that are chemically derivatized (e.g., functionalized) to enhance and facilitate the deposition of nanoscale materials thereupon, including both hard and soft nanoscale materials. In various embodiments, the substrates may include an electron-conducting mesh support, for example, a carbon, copper, nickel, molybdenum, beryllium, gold, silicon, GaAs, or oxide (e.g., SiO2, TiO2, ITO, or Al2O3) support, or a combination thereof, having one or more apertures. In various embodiments, the mesh support may be coated with an electron conducting, electron transparent carbon film membrane that has been chemically derivatized to promote adhesion and/or affinity for various materials, including hard inorganic materials and soft materials, such as polymers and biological molecules.

Abstract: A three dimensional (3D) for printing a 3D object without the need for printing support structure for overhanging or cantilevered portions of the 3D object. The 3D printer includes a print head with a nozzle for extruding print material and a build plate with an upper surface receiving the print material extruded from the nozzle, whereby the 3D object is formed on the upper surface of the build plate. The 3D printer includes a tilt adjustment mechanism tilting the build plate about at least one axis to orient the upper surface and the 3D object relative to the nozzle during the extruding of the print material. The tilting can be performed such that a previously extruded portion of the print material is vertically aligned with the nozzle to receive the print material extruded to form an overhanging element of the 3D object.
