Abstract: A color coded garment and color coded bedding can be used in a medical setting to identify the location of a medical procedure to take place. A medical patient would wear a specific color coded garment that identifies, through color, the location of a medical procedure to take place. The medical patient's bedding would also reflect this location using a similar color coded identification mechanism. The combination of the two (garment and bedding) provide unmistakable visual indicia that will help limit or reduce wrong site medical procedures.

Abstract: The technical features of the Multi MIT are the retractable finger points on and/or near the metacarpo-interphalangeal joint on the middle, index and thumb fingers. On the dorsal side of the glove, are magnets that are sewn between the insulated material and the outer fabric which connect when the finger caps are retracted. The finger caps are held back by a positive and a negative magnet on the dorsal side of the glove that firmly holds the finger caps in place. The retracted caps access the inner spandex fleece glove that has touch screen material patches on the tips of the middle, index, and thumb fingers on the palmer side of the inner glove. The inner glove is designed to give the wearer fingertip sensory reception, dexterity and allow touch screen capabilities while providing mild fingertip protection with the finger caps retracted.

While the cuff region on the former for fabricating the glove is elliptical in cross-section and is flared, the region of the former on which the end of the glove is fabricated is circular in cross-section and thus allows the beading process to be successfully undertaken.

Abstract: 3D fabrics have multiple layers including an outer dimensional layer of traditional fabric and a liner layer integrated with outer layer suitable with air or foam therebetween. The 3D fabrics have variable depth, typically ranging from between about 0.25 inches to about 2.0 inches. The 3D fabrics are produced from a molding process that creates the outer dimensional layer while adhering it to the liner layer. The 3D fabrics have unique visual properties which make them desirable for a variety of applications.

Abstract: A wig is provided comprising a first scalp layer and a second scalp layer and a plurality of hairs. The second scalp layer comprises one or more mesh sheet, lace segment, or weft, and each of the plurality of hairs passes through the first scalp layer and is tied to the second scalp layer. The first scalp layer is made of a different material than the second scalp layer, and the hair does not pass through the first scalp layer. A method for manufacturing such a wig is provided as well.

Abstract: The invention relates to a venetian mask wherein the strap that holds the mask to the face is removed and replaced with two temple arms extending to on or around the ears of the wearer or sides of the head. The temple arms or devices secure the mask to the head in a more comfortable manner. Taking off and putting on a mask is now easy due to the inventions improvement.

In various embodiments, the CPSIA-compliant, sound-deadening infant sleep hat may include a non-rigid outer shell having an inner surface upon which two non-rigid ear pieces are disposed opposite one another. The non-rigid ear pieces may each be at least partially composed of one or more sound-deadening materials in a combined or layered arrangement. The one or more sound-deadening materials may include a viscoelastic sound-deadening foam and a sound-deadening material composed at least partially of one or more fibers.

Abstract: A wearable safety apparatus includes a housing, a plurality of directional thermal imaging sensors mounted on the housing and facing outwardly away from the housing in a corresponding plurality of different directions towards thermal zones of a heat source. Each sensor detects infrared radiation (IR) intensity and generates an output indicative of a temperature of the detected IR intensity in a respective thermal zone faced by a respective sensor. An interface is mounted on the housing and has a display positioned to be viewable by a user, e.g., a firefighter. A controller processes the outputs generated by the sensors, and displays at a plurality of spaced-apart positions on the display a plurality of positional thermal indicators when the temperature in the respective thermal zone is elevated. The position of each positional thermal indicator corresponds to the thermal zone faced by the respective sensor.

Abstract: Protective gear includes an outer shell layer connected to a middle shell layer through an outer energy and impact transformer layer. The middle shell layer is connected to an inner shell layer through an inner energy and impact transformer layer. The outer and inner energy and impact transformer layers flexibly connect the shell layers to absorb impact forces, rotational forces, shear forces, etc., and allow the various shell layers to move and slide relative to the other shell layers. The outer and inner energy and impact transformer layers may be constructed using gels, fluids, electro-rheological elements, magneto-rheological elements, etc. The protective gear may be formed as helmets or body protection for various activities and protect users from not only impact and penetrative forces, but rotational and shear forces as well.

The vertically inlaid tensile element extends along a direction that is vertical or at an angle to the direction of the knitting process of the knitted component. A method of knitting the knitted component includes placing a quantity of a tensile element into an auxiliary element of the knitted component and vertically inlaying a tensile element by using needles of a knitting machine to hold the tensile element by loops while the remaining portion of the knitted component is formed. As the knitted component is formed along a horizontal direction on the needles of the knitting machine, the tensile element spools out from within the auxiliary element to form the vertically inlaid tensile element.

Abstract: An article of footwear includes an upper member and a sole structure, with a sensor system connected to the sole structure. The sensor system includes a plurality of sensors that are configured for detecting forces exerted by a user's foot on the sensor. Each sensor includes two electrodes that are in communication with a force sensitive resistive material. The electrodes and the force sensitive resistive material may have multi-lobed shapes. Additionally, the sensor system may be provided on an insert that may form a sole member of the article of footwear. The insert may have slits therethrough, and may have a defined peripheral shape.

Depending on the level of stiffness of the stiffener element, or lack thereof, different flex profiles having varying degrees of stiffness are available to the wearer to customize the stiffness of the snowboard boot when secured within a binding. A kit of parts is also disclosed that includes a pair of boots and two sets of interchangeable stiffener inserts to allow a wearer to customize the stiffness of the boots as desired.

The transducer is mounted within the sole and includes a micro-motor, a link structure and a heater. The heater is electrically coupled to the micro-motor and configured to convert the electric energy provided by the micro-motor to heat. When the actuator deforms or restores its deformation, the link structure moves thereby enabling the micro-motor to generate electric energy for the heater.

Abstract: A ventilation system for an article of footwear is disclosed. The ventilation system may be configured to direct air from outside the article of footwear to the inside of the article of footwear. The ventilation system may include a sole layer and a sockliner configured to lie on top of the sole layer. One or more paths may be formed within the sole layer to provide a pumping mechanism during the normal course of providing cushioning for the user. The paths may be activated by forefoot or heel based pressure to force air from the exterior of the article of footwear to a sockliner directly above the sole layer. An air inlet extending through a sidewall of the sole layer may allow outside air to enter the path within the sole layer. An opening in the sockliner may allow air inside the path to enter inside the article of footwear.

Abstract: The present invention is footwear having opposing wedge shaped configurations in the bottom of the front sole section and the back sole section which provide rotation of the front sole section and the back sole section in opposite directions when weight is applied. The present invention is also footwear convex shaped in the longitudinal direction with a split sole having opposing wedge shaped configurations in the bottom of the front sole section and the back sole section that provide rotation of the front sole section and the back sole section in opposite directions when weight is applied. The invention further includes footwear having at least one pair of wedges on the outsole which provide footwear having improved arch support. The shoe system also includes a selectively removable outsole which includes a bottom for contacting the ground, and a top for engaging with the bottom of the shoe upper. The top side of the outsole further includes a projection which is sized and shaped to extend through the aperture and into the cavity when the outsole is in a first orientation, which is misaligned with respect to the shoe upper. The projection is also sized and shaped to fit within the cavity but no longer back through the aperture when the outsole is in a second orientation, which is aligned with respect to the shoe upper. In the second orientation, the projection within said cavity prevents disengagement of the outsole from the shoe upper.

Abstract: An athletic shoe including a moveably attached cleat is intended to displace relative to the sole on the shoe in certain situations. This allows the cleat to more easily disengage the turf than a convention fixed cleat. The moveably attached cleat allows the shoe to disengage from the turf when the wearer is subjected to side impact forces, thus reducing the likelihood of traumatic knee injuries for the wearer. However, when the wearer is running forward, there is a reaction force on the cleat from the turf, acting in the forward direction which does not cause the cleat to displace to the retracted position and it can remain in the extended position.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to a jewelry element which includes two layers—a cladding layer and a substrate layer, each layer being its own alloy. The cladding layer is further enhanced by introduction of a metal providing additional hardness when included in the alloy.
