Abstract: This invention is a FFT butterfly circuit. This circuit includes four temporary data registers connected to three memories. The three memories include read/write X and Y memories and a read only twiddle coefficient memory. A multiplier-accumulator forms a product and accumulates the product with one of two accumulator registers. A register file with plural registers is loaded from one of the accumulator registers or the fourth temporary data register. An adder/subtracter forms a selected one of a sum of registers or a difference of registers. A write buffer with two buffers temporarily stores data from the adder/subtracter before storage in the first or second memory. The X and Y memories must be read/write but the twiddle memory may be read only.

Abstract: Disclosed are methods and systems for performing uncertainty calculations. For example, a first numeric value and an error range associated with the first numeric value is converted by a processor into a dual number, which is then converted into an input chordal, where the input chordal is both a numeric and a geometric form of the dual number. A chordal calculation is performed using the input chordal to create an output chordal, and the processor then converts the output chordal to an output numeric value that comprises both a number and an error range associated with that number.

Abstract: According to an embodiment, a computing apparatus includes a memory, and a processor. The memory stores N first vectors in a d-dimensional binary vector space consisting of binary values. The processor acquires a second vector in the d-dimensional binary vector space. The processor extracts M first vectors having a distance from the second vector satisfying a first condition out of the N first vectors, and calculate a distribution of distances of the M first vectors from the second vector. The processor acquires a first kernel function per a first distance between the M first vectors and the second vector in a first range. The processor generates a second kernel function based on the distribution and the first kernel functions. The processor calculates an occurrence probability of the second vector in the N first vectors based on the second kernel function.

Abstract: A method and system for re-marginating content displayed on a display screen of a computing device when upon receiving indication of an object superposed on the display screen content, a “handedness” preference of the reader/observer can be determined. In one embodiment, the content comprises display of one page in a series of digitally constructed pages. A keep out margin is calculated based on position of the object. Content is then re-flowed or line-wrapped about that keep out margin, to counteract any obscuration of displayed content. The line-wrapping of the content around the keep out margin is accomplished while maintaining a plurality of text attributes of the content. The line-wrapping forces reconstruction of a next one of the series of pages for display.

Abstract: In a data protection compliant version control system, a change committed by a user in a version is stored. A cryptographic hash value generated based on a set of parameters corresponding to the user and the version is computed. The cryptographic hash value along with the change committed by the user is stored. The cryptographic hash value is associated with the change committed by the user by a redirection pointer. The redirection pointer is deleted to disassociate the change committed by the user from the cryptographic hash value, thereby disassociating the change committed by the user from the user. The change committed by the user is displayed in a user interface associated with the version control system.

Abstract: For each image in a collection of images to be searched, the image is represented as a collection of color-edge words, where each color-edge words includes location information, shape information, and color information. The images may be indexed based on the color-edge words. A user-generated sketch is received as a query and represented as a collection of color-edge words. The collection of color-edge words representing the sketch is compared to the image index to identify search results based on a combination of location similarity, shape similarity, and color similarity.

Abstract: Methods and systems for filtered image data recovery using lookback include storing first, second, and third data captures received from the image sensor in a first memory component and a second memory component. The methods and systems also include identifying a second detection in the second data capture and a third detection in the third data capture by filtering the first, second, and third data captures. The second detection and the third detection each exceed a pixel intensity threshold. The methods and systems also include correlating the second detection and the third detection to identify at least one track. The methods and systems also include detecting a first detection in the first data capture stored in the second memory component, the first detection being a pixel intensity value that is less than the threshold or an initiation event having a pixel intensity value that is less than the threshold.

Abstract: An efficient large scale search system for video and multi-media content using a distributed database and search, and tiered search servers is described. Selected content is stored at the distributed local database and tier1 search server(s). Content matching frequent queries, and frequent unidentified queries are cached at various levels in the search system. Content is classified using feature descriptors and geographical aspects, at feature level and in time segments. Queries not identified at clients and tier1 search server(s) are queried against tier2 or lower search server(s). Search servers use classification and geographical partitioning to reduce search cost. Methods for content tracking and local content searching are executed on clients. The client performs local search, monitoring and/or tracking of the query content with the reference content and local search with a database of reference fingerprints.

Some implementations are directed generally to determining answers to interrogative queries that are submitted by users via computing devices of the users, such as typed or spoken queries submitted via a search engine interface. Some implementations are directed to determining answers to interrogative queries that are automatically formulated to identify missing information, verify existing information, and/or update existing information in a structured entity database.

The processor determines the first index corresponding to the first data page having a frequency of access requests that exceeds a configurable target, and the processor retains, with preference, the first data page that corresponds to the first index, within the cache memory.

Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for generating a unified ranking of search results received from a plurality of distinct search resources. A computing system executing a federated search application receives a set of ranked search results from multiple search resources (e.g., web-based search engines, public databases and catalogs, etc.). Each search result identifies an item and includes metadata characterizing the item. The federated search application determines a unified ranking for the items identified in the search results that preserves a relative ranking of each set of items, such that a result for a given item is ranked above other results for items in the associated set of items is ranked above the other results in the unified ranking.

Abstract: A data analysis method and computer system electronically mines published articles from existing medical literature sources to discover associations that may exist between various diseases and various genes and/or gene mutations or other genetic changes. The method and system then organizes, categorizes and prioritizes the discovered associations in accordance with the strength of evidence supporting these associations. The resulting information can then be integrated into the processing of genome sequencing data to more quickly determine what genome sequencing data is of most relevance for clinical decision makings.
