  • Patent number: 9352357
Abstract: Methods and systems for cleaning, coating and sealing leaks in existing pipes, in a single operation. A piping system can be cleaned in one pass by dry particulates forced and pulled by air throughout the piping system by a generator and a vacuum. Pipes can be protected from water corrosion, erosion and electrolysis, extending the life of pipes such as copper, steel, lead, brass, cast iron piping and composite materials. Coatings can be applied to pipes having diameters up to approximately 6?. Leak sealants of at least approximately 4 mils thick can cover insides of pipes, and can include novel mixtures of fillers and epoxy materials, and viscosity levels. A positive pressure can be maintained within the pipes during applications. Piping systems can be returned to service within approximately 96 hours.

  • Patent number: 9352358
Abstract: A monolithic ultrasonic horn where the horn, backing, and pre-stress structures are combined in a single monolithic piece is disclosed. Pre-stress is applied by external flexure structures. The provision of the external flexures has numerous advantages including the elimination of the need for a pre-stress bolt. The removal of the pre-stress bolt eliminates potential internal electric discharge points in the actuator. In addition, it reduces the chances of mechanical failure in the actuator stacks that result from the free surface in the hole of conventional ring stacks. In addition, the removal of the stress bolt and the corresponding reduction in the overall number of parts reduces the overall complexity of the resulting ultrasonic horn actuator and simplifies the ease of the design, fabrication and integration of the actuator of the present invention into other structures.

  • Patent number: 9352359
Abstract: Disclosed is a dirt sifting device for placement over a wheelbarrow, comprising a frame and a filter screen disposed over the frame. In an embodiment of the present invention, the dirt sifting device comprises a first frame connected by a hinge to a second frame. The hinge allows the first frame to rotate relative to the second frame and is adapted to maintain the frames at any of a variety of angles. A filter screen is disposed over each of the first and second frames. The frames define the perimeter of the filter screens. The frames may be rotated towards one another such that the frames overlap in a closed configuration convenient for storage. Alternatively, the frames may be rotated away from one another and the device can then be placed over a wheelbarrow for dirt sifting. Overall, the device serves as a means for separating dirt from unwanted materials.

  • Patent number: 9352382
Abstract: The distribution of load stresses on threads engaged with a standard screw or nut is very unequal. Indeed, the first threads in engagement support a large majority of the load. So if the load is too important, the threads give way and the function is not provided any more by the screw or the nut. In the prior art, threads are known whose depth or pitch varies a lot in order to cause a self-clamping. In particular, the invention aims at optimizing the resistance and the fatigue resistance of the screws by distributing the load at the very best on their threads without causing this self-clamping. It was shown that the control of the pitch variation, within a chosen pitch tolerance, makes it possible to control the stress distribution on the threads. It is possible to determine a different variation for each load case encountered.

  • Patent number: 9352398
Abstract: A high-frequency spindle has a tube shaft extending along and rotatable about an axis, a chuck carried on a front end of the shaft, adapted to fit with a tool or tool holder, and a ball cage in the shaft and having a radially extending window. A locking ball os radially displaceable in the window between a holding position engaging in a seat of the tool and a freeing position clear of the seat. An angled surface is engageable radially with the ball, and an actuating rod is axially shiftable and coupled to the cage or to the angled surface. An actuator can axially shift the rod and thereby relatively axially displace the ball and the angled surface and cam the ball with the angled surface into the holding position. A primary spring biases the rod so as shift the ball with the angled surface into the holding position.

  • Patent number: 9352402
Abstract: A cutting tool for machining a workpiece. The cutting tool comprises a holder and at least two cutting inserts which are separated from each other by a spacer element. The cutting tool may be used to produce two or more bevels (and/or joints and/or grooves) at precisely defined spacings in only one operation. Through the use of spacer elements of different lengths, it is possible to produce bevels at different spacings. The spacer element preferably has an interface which comprises only radial contact surfaces, which run parallel to a longitudinal axis of the spacer element, and a substantially flat axial contact surface, which runs transverse to the longitudinal axis. The length of the spacer element can therefore be shortened on the rear side of the spacer element without destroying said interface.
