Abstract: A transmission mechanism of handle lock set used for driving a latch to perform extension/retraction action includes a driving plate and a transmission plate. The driving plate includes a supporting portion having a transmission surface with an arc surface and a blocking surface with a flat surface. The driving plate is rotated to make the supporting portion swinging between a first position and a second position. The transmission plate further includes a protrusion having a contact surface. The transmission surface contacts the contact surface and pushes the protrusion to prevent the driving plate from being unavailable due to transmission dead spot occurrence when the supporting portion locates at the first position. The blocking surface contacts the contact surface of the protrusion to prevent the driving plate from over rotation for avoiding unavailable return when the supporting portion of the driving plate locates at the second position.

Abstract: An interconnected lock has adjustable offset spacing between latchbolt and deadbolt lock mechanisms, and a sliding pusher mechanism therebetween. The pusher mechanism is operable upon operation of an interior actuator to bear against the deadbolt lock mechanism and move the deadbolt along the second axis from the latched to the unlatched position at the same time that the operation of the interior actuator moves the latchbolt along the first axis from the latched to the unlatched position. The pusher mechanism includes an arm that bears against the deadbolt lock mechanism and may be retracted and extended between a first length and a second, longer length when changing offset spacing between the deadbolt and latchbolt. The arm is extendable from the first length to the second length without adding or removing any components thereof.

Abstract: A method for assembling a marine drilling riser includes assembling a predetermined number of sections of the marine drilling riser and extending them into a body of water from a drilling platform. The assembling including affixing a selected number of external line guides to the riser at selected longitudinal positions. The line guides are initially closed to be substantially at most equal a diameter of buoyancy devices on the riser. The line guides are subsequently opened to extend beyond the buoyancy device diameter. A predetermined length of fluid external line is moved to adjacent the assembled riser and the fluid conduit is coupled to the external line guides. The external line guides are locked and assembly of the riser is completed and tension is applied thereto.

Abstract: A system for aligning an auxiliary line connection in a termination assembly of a marine riser assembly includes a terminal block secured to an outer diameter of a termination ring. The terminal block has a piston housing that extends through a sidewall of the termination ring. A ring adapter has an outer diameter sized to engage an inner diameter of the termination ring when a shoulder of the ring adapter is landed on a load shoulder of the termination ring. A moveable floating ring assembly is retained within the piston pocket of the ring adapter. A piston housed within piston housing is moveable between a retracted position where an outer end of the piston is spaced apart from the floating ring assembly, and an extended position for forming a sealed auxiliary path from the terminal block to the ring adapter.

Abstract: A riser data logging system can be installed on the riser top to provide real time information of the riser, instead of or in addition to relying on sensors installed on a tensioner. The riser recoil detection system can thus be made independent of any motion of the vessel. This logging system can feedback the riser top acceleration, velocity, position, and the wire-line tensions into a controller. By comparing the acceleration difference between the riser top and the vessel body, the controller can provide more reliable and faster detection of events occurring on a vessel, potentially detecting the condition within one second. If the acceleration exceeds a certain limit, the electrical tensioners are able to reduce the wire-line tension nearly instantaneously, providing a much more effective anti-recoil control that conventional hydro-pneumatic tensioners.

Abstract: The systems, devices, and methods described herein describe a tubular retention system arranged over a mousehole. The tubular retention system includes load bearing plates that are mutually opposed, vertically aligned, and connected to an eternal support structure via upper and lower links that, together, form a parallelogram shape movable to engage tubulars of varying diameters. The load bearing plates are pulled down by a biasing system to engage the tubular and synchronized by a lifting ring connecting the load bearing plates together. Mutually opposing deflector plates are connected to the load bearing plates and move in response to the downward movement of the load bearing plates, providing a centering force against the tubular to assure proper retention once the load bearing links engage the tubular. An upward force enables the load bearing plates to return upward and outward to release the tubular.

In one embodiment, the ring gear and pinion gears have roller tooth elements, and idler gears disposed between the ring gear and pinion gears, have a semi-circular tooth root profile to mesh with the roller element gear teeth. Abstract: A tool equalizes a packer or bridge plug before it can release the slips and sealing element of the packer or bridge plug with a reconfigurable grip tool. In one configuration the grip tool is latched only into the equalizing mechanism for the packer or bridge plug. Having equalized the pressure and while still latched to the equalization mechanism the tool is reconfigured with a force and locked into a second configuration. From that position the grip tool can latch and move the release mechanism for total release and retrieval to the surface. Release force undermines a ratchet lock for the slips to allow extension as the sealing element extends axially and radially retracts. If the slips fail to release with undermining of the ratchet lock then a set down force can be applied to re-engage the lower slip cone to push it from the lower slips for a release.

Hydraulic fluid is pumped against one end of the setting piston to overcome the second force and move the setting piston. A reset valve is located in a hydraulic fluid return passageway that is connected between other end of the setting piston and the source of hydraulic fluid. The reset valve can move to selectively block the flow of the hydraulic fluid or allow hydraulic fluid to flow through the fluid return passageway, so that the setting piston can move the setting piston back to its start position.
