Abstract: A damper disc assembly includes first and second input plates, an output unit, a high stiffness damper unit, and first and second low stiffness damper units. The output unit includes an input-side member and an output-side member disposed rotatably relative to each other. The high stiffness damper unit elastically couples the input-side member and the first and second input plates in a rotational direction and is actuated in a high torsion angular range of torsional characteristics. The first and second low stiffness damper units elastically couple the input-side member and the output-side member and are actuated in a low torsion angular range of the torsional characteristics. The second low stiffness damper unit is actuated later than actuation of the first low stiffness damper unit.

Abstract: A bicycle lining wear indication system includes a lining and a display device. The lining includes a back pate, a friction portion and a detection device. The detection device includes a detecting unit, an operation unit and a transmitting unit. The detecting unit detects a wear state of the friction portion after the friction portion contacts and rubs the disk of a wheel to produce a friction coefficient characteristic. The operation unit proceeds an operation on the friction coefficient characteristic to convert the friction coefficient characteristic into a digital value. The transmitting unit transmits the digital value to the display device to remind a rider of a wear extent of the friction portion. Thus, the detection device monitors and detects the wear extent of the friction portion so that the rider can replace the lining when the friction portion is worn out.

A synchronizer restricts a third member of the planetary gearset from rotation when the electric drive module operates at a first drive ratio. The synchronizer transfers energy from the rotating rotor to the third member during a shift between the first drive ratio and a second drive ratio to match the rotational speeds of the rotor and the second member. A reduction unit includes an input member being driven by the second member and also includes an output member driven at a reduced speed relative to the input member. A differential assembly includes an input driven by the output member, a first differential output driving a first output shaft, and a second differential output driving a second output shaft.

Abstract: A hydraulic transmission comprising a variable displacement pump and motor, at least one having cylinders having valves which are controllable on each cycle of cylinder working volume to determine the net displacement of working fluid by the cylinder. The transmission has a valve control module which determines a displacement of the pump and the motor by specifying a displacement demand. The pump and/or motor valve control module determine the frequency of intensity peaks in the frequency spectrum of the pattern of cylinders carrying out active and inactive cycles of cylinder working volume using a first procedure and, if these will fall within disallowed frequency bands including the resonant frequency of components with which the transmission is in mechanical communication, the displacement demand, or another input, is periodically modified to suppress generation of those frequencies. The hydraulic transmission is useful for example in a wind turbine generator, or a vehicle.

Abstract: A bicycle chainring for engaging a bicycle drive chain has a plurality of teeth formed around its periphery. The plurality of teeth includes a first group of teeth, and a second group of teeth. The teeth of the second group are arranged alternatingly between the teeth of the first group. A portion of each tooth of the first group extends outwardly on a first lateral side of the chainring, and a portion of each tooth of the second group extends outwardly on the second lateral side of the chainring. Thus, each tooth is arranged in a laterally staggered position relative to its neighboring teeth. A bicycle chain drive employs the chainring. This construction of the chain drive and chainring offer the retention advantages of Narrow-Wide chainrings, but also allow the chain to engage with the chainring at multiple orientations.

Abstract: Oil pressure controller for an automatic transmission produces a pre-charge shelf pressure supplied to a starter clutch by rapidly decreasing a command hydraulic pressure to the starter clutch after temporarily rapidly increasing the command hydraulic pressure, also produces a capacity adjustment pressure (Pb1 or Pb2) of the starter clutch by gradually increasing the hydraulic pressure from a decrease point of the pre-charge shelf pressure (Pa), when a selecting operation is made from N-range to D-range. By changing capacity adjustment pressure (Pb1 or Pb2) according to brake-operating/nonoperating state, capacity adjustment pressure (Pb1) in the brake-nonoperating state is set to be higher than capacity adjustment pressure (Pb2) in the brake-operating state by an offset hydraulic pressure amount. With this, when the selecting operation is made from N-range to D-range, in the brake-operating state, selection shock of the starter clutch can be reduced.
