Publication number: 20160208912Abstract: A controller for a continuously variable transmission includes an electronic control unit. The electronic control unit reduces a change in a target speed ratio of the continuously variable transmission when a sensitivity coefficient is large as compared to when the sensitivity coefficient is small. When the sensitivity coefficient is large, a change in speed ratio is suppressed, so the stability of the speed ratio is improved. When the sensitivity coefficient is small, the response of a shift is improved. The controller changes a degree of suppressing a shift of the continuously variable transmission in response to the sensitivity coefficient, so it is possible to suppress a shift where necessary. Thus, it is possible to achieve both improvement in the stability of the speed ratio and improvement in the response of a shift in automatic vehicle speed control. This suppresses a feeling of strangeness experienced by a driver.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 14, 2016Publication date: July 21, 2016Applicant: TOYOTA JIDOSHA KABUSHIKI KAISHAInventors: Kunio Hattori, Wataru Matsubara

Publication number: 20160208931Abstract: Disclosed is a valve disk for a pressure regulating valve having a retaining device to keep a sealing gasket from becoming displaced. The retaining device of the valve disk increases the friction between the sealing gasket and a sealing gasket groove of the valve disk or secures the sealing gasket in place using an annular sleeve around a valve stem, thereby preventing the sealing gasket on the valve disk from tearing out and falling off when the pressure regulating valve is experiencing a high differential pressure or a high current velocity. Publication number: 20160208955Abstract: A valve assembly includes a shuttle reversibly translatable with respect to an axis. The shuttle defines an at least first outlet port, an at least second outlet port spaced apart from the at least first outlet port, and an inlet port. The valve assembly includes an actuator configured for translating the shuttle with respect to the axis between a first position in which the at least first outlet port and the inlet port are disposed in fluid communication, and a second position in which the at least second outlet port and the inlet port are disposed in fluid communication. The actuator is formed from a shape memory alloy transitionable between a first state and a second state in response to a thermal activation signal. A washer system, a device, and a method of alternately washing one of a first component and a second component of the device are disclosed.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 14, 2016Publication date: July 21, 2016Applicant: GM GLOBAL TECHNOLOGY OPERATIONS LLCInventors: Nicholas W. Publication number: 20160208956Abstract: A system for digging sewer pipe trenches without the need of manholes, including a pair of oppositely disposed parallel elongated sidewalls defining a work volume therebetween, at least one support member extending between the sidewalls, and a location guidance assembly positionable within. The guidance assembly includes a pair of spaced parallel elongated positioning members, at least one elongated connection member extending between the positioning members, a GPS sensor operationally connected to each positioning member, a laser support member connected to one of the elongated positioning members, a mounting connection connected to the laser support member; and a laser connected to the laser support member. A movement actuator is coupled to the location guidance assembly, wherein energization of the actuator moves the laser between a first position and a second position in the working volume.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 5, 2016Publication date: July 21, 2016Inventor: Philip Paull

Publication number: 20160208961Abstract: A flexible offshore pipe includes a plurality of layers forming an inner pipe structure that includes an innermost sealing sheath. A first and a second tensile armor layer each including helically wound elongate armor elements surround the inner pipe structure. The first and the second tensile armor layer each has a winding pitch length and are cross wound. The pipe includes unbonded length sections and holding length sections. The elongate armor elements of the first tensile armor layer in the unbonded length sections are unbonded to said inner pipe structure and in each holding length section at least one of the elongate armor elements of the first tensile armor layer is more restricted to displacement relative to said inner pipe structure than the elongate armor elements of the first tensile armor layer in the unbonded length sections.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 28, 2014Publication date: July 21, 2016Inventors: Kristian Glejbol, Jan Rytter
