  • Patent number: 9415870
Abstract: This disclosure is directed to monitoring a noise signature of an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) and varying the speed of the motors of the UAV to reduce unwanted sound (i.e., noise) of the UAV based on the noise signature. The noise signature of the UAV may be measured by an audio sensor of a vibration sensor, and feedback may be provided to the UAV. The UAV may generate noise during flight, which may include a number of noise components such as tonal noise (e.g., a whining noise such as a whistle of a kettle at full boil) and broadband noise (e.g., a complex mixture of sounds of different frequencies, such as the sound of ocean surf). By measuring the noise signature of the UAV, and varying the motor revolutions per minute (RPM) during flight operations, the UAV may reduce tonal components of the UAV noise signature.

  • Patent number: 9415876
Abstract: A pressure relief latch includes a first housing, the first housing having a handle pivotably attached, and a safety release with a hook. A roller support is slidingly engaged with the first housing and linked to the handle. The roller support has a locking pin, and has a roller attached to one end. A second housing includes a spring and a keeper extending away from the spring. When the latch is in use, the keeper of the second housing and the roller of the first housing are engaged when the latch is in the closed position. The hook of the safety release engages the locking pin of the roller support when the latch is in the closed position, preventing upward rotation of the handle. When the safety release is actuated, the hook disengages the locking pin. Upward rotation of the handle causes the roller and the keeper to disengage.

  • Patent number: 9415881
Abstract: A method of calculating and displaying the true airspeed of a rotorcraft. At least one omnidirectional airspeed sensor is installed at the top of a tail fin of the rotorcraft. The true airspeed of the rotorcraft flying at speeds that are lower than or equal to at least one airspeed threshold of the rotorcraft is calculated by correcting the measurements supplied by the airspeed sensor installed at the top of the tail fin as a function of the effects produced by the air stream generated by rotation of the main rotor of the rotorcraft on the characteristics of the speed of the air stream measured by the tail fin airspeed sensor. For this purpose, a correction rule calibrated in test flight is advantageously applied to correct the measurements supplied by the airspeed sensor installed at the top of the tail fin.

Abstract: A displacement device is for preparing a bag for its installation at a filling point (or second location) of packaging equipment. The displacement device grabs the bag from the pick-up location (or stack) (at which first position and orientation parameters have been previously measured), displaces the bag while measuring second position and orientation parameters of the bag, adjusting the operation and displacement of the displacement device for displacing and installing the bag at the filling point; at the same time, the measurement of the next bag's first position and orientation parameters is done to adjust the operation and displacement of the displacement device for grabbing the next bag on the stack. • Patent number: 9415899
Abstract: A transparent silicone cover and accompanying transparent silicone securing bands that safeguard a glass pharmaceutical vial from shattering or cracking as a result of handling by automated dispensing units, patients, or medical or veterinary staff while simultaneously allowing inspection and reading of an enclosed vial, its contents and all labels in their entirety, as well as scanning of barcodes in the clinical setting. The main body provides a cylindrical lumen for the vial to rest in securely while effectively protecting the vial's sidewalls and base. One side of the main body has a narrow slit from top to base which also extends inwardly partially across the base, allowing the main body to flex open, offering easy insertion and removal of a vial.
