Abstract: A system and method for learning and asserting what portions of a utility GIS network model are incorrect or flawed as they relate to real world conditions, and what the correct real world relationships are in the field is described. The system and method leverage available smart grid data to assess the quality of a primary (GIS) source data set; quality data renders derived analyses across the utility valid, sound, and action worthy. The system and method utilize existing partially correct electrical network distribution model data and various non-specialized source data including smart meter, spatial, and customer information data collected from the network to test, validate and suggest corrections to the connectivity model. By forming putative ground truth assignments between utility components, the system tests the assumptions by examining the geospatial proximity and correlating voltage and event data over time to form refined hypothesis.

Abstract: In an embodiment, a plurality of hardware buffers each may store information associated with one or more virtual channels. In turn, a configuration logic is to determine an identifier corresponding to a maximum number of virtual channels commonly supported by first and second devices coupled via a link and to obtain a control value based on the identifier. A gate logic coupled to the configuration logic is to provide an operating voltage to corresponding ones of the hardware buffers based on the control value. In this way, the operating voltage can be withheld from at least one of the hardware buffers when the maximum number of virtual channels is less than the plurality of hardware buffers. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

Abstract: A wireless communication device includes a processor, a memory unit capable of retaining data in a power saving state, a clock control unit configured to control when a clock is to be supplied to each pair of processor and memory, and a power control unit configured to control an amount of power to be supplied to the processor and the memory unit. In the power saving state, the clock control unit stops supplying the clock to the processor and the memory unit, and the power control unit reduces the amount of power supplied to the memory unit. When returning from the power saving state, the power control unit increases the amount of power supplied to the memory unit, and the clock control unit starts supplying the clock to the memory unit before starting to supply the clock to the processor.

Abstract: A consensus-based power control apparatus is provided, which includes a real power control module and a reactive power control module. A real power consensus signal between a first power generating apparatus and a second power generating apparatus is provided and a frequency restoration signal is generated according to the real power consensus signal, thereby allowing the real power control module to generate a real power output signal. A reactive power consensus signal between the first power generating apparatus and the second power generating apparatus is provided and a voltage differential restoration signal is generated according to the reactive power consensus signal, thereby allowing the reactive power control module to generate a reactive power output signal. Therefore, the invention can control real power and reactive power input signals (i.e., actual real power and reactive power outputs) of the first power generating apparatus in a grid system.

Abstract: Aspects of a low power memory buffer are described. In one embodiment, a sampling rate of a signal is adjusted to identify extrema of a signal. An extrema pulse is generated and, in response to the extrema pulse, a time segment and potential value of the signal are stored in a memory. In other aspects, rising and falling slopes of the signal are tracked to identify a local maximum and a local minimum of the signal. In this scenario, an extrema pulse is generated for each of the local maximum and minimum, and time segment and potential values are stored for the local maximum and minimum. Generally, the storage of analog values of the signal at an adjusted sampling rate is achieved with low power, and the signal may be reconstructed at a later time.
