Abstract: The exhaust vent cover produces a few purposes: The exhausting of air, heat, dust, lint, fumes and other unwanted elements from the dwelling's interior to the dwelling's exterior. 1) Provides a mechanical way of preventing outside air, dirt etc. from entering the interior space/area by utilizing a mechanical flap that swings outward by air pressure, electrical motor or pneumatic control hooked to an on/off control switch. 2) Prevents birds, rodents and other small critters from entering the interior space/area. This exhaust cover is designed in three (3) parts: First part: is a molded plastic or metal hood cover with slots on sides. Second part: is an attachable frame with metal spikes surrounding the opening of the hood cover. Third part: a backdraft cover that opens outward can be made of metal or plastic, this cover which attaches with a hinge like mechanism at the top inside opening of the exhaust vent cover.

The control device cuts off the power to be supplied to a heating portion when it is determined that an event where a maximum temperature that the processing liquid within the heater unit reaches exceeds a processing liquid upper limit temperature is likely to occur even when a supply of the power to the heating portion is stopped based on an actual temperature of the processing liquid measured by a temperature detector under an assumption that a flow of the processing liquid flowing in a processing liquid supply line is stopped.

Abstract: A modular heating system and method is presented that automatically dissipates thermal energy from a heater or heated package if the energy cannot be assimilated without excessive temperature increase. A heater containing reactants that generate heat when combined is placed in thermal contact with a passive thermal control material which is in thermal contact with a container configured to contain a substance to be heated. The passive thermal control material allows the transmission of heat between the heater and the container as long as the temperature of the heat passing through the passive thermal control material does not exceed the activation temperature of the material. If the temperature of the heat passing through the passive thermal control material exceeds the material's decomposition temperature, the passive thermal control material decomposes and thereby dissipates heat.

Abstract: An absorber or desorber contains one or more micro-channels that have a 3-D structured heat-exchanging surface and a membrane on the microchannel situated distal to the 3-D structured heat-exchanging surface, where the membrane is permeable to a solvent of a solution employed in the absorber or desorber. The 3-D structured surface promotes mixing of hot and cold solution between the 3-D structured heat-exchanging surface and a vapor-exchanging surface proximal to the membrane. The mixing reduces the differences in concentration and temperature of the bulk solution and the solution at the vapor-exchanging surface to enhance the efficiency and rate of absorption or desorption of the solvent.
